"My lord..." Yinghui called with a melancholic mind voice. Ash didn’t know why, but it sounds like she was longing for something. "When will you return here?".

Before long, Ash noticed the humid air column that was ascending from the ground below. As he looked down, a series of natural hot spring pools filled the valley from the mountain’s slope down to its valley.

Notwithstanding the dizziness, Ash moved further away. He then deliberately perched on a tree that is big and strong enough to support him.

"What just happened to my body?" Ash bewildered for a second. After which, figured it out that aphrodisiac was diluted into the hot spring pools, and was carried by the steam that moved upward.

Upon further investigation, while avoiding the warm air that was coming from the pools, Ash heard a loud commotion from dozens of men from the mountaintop.

"Humans! What are they doing in this remote mountain range?!"

Without further ado, Ash flew silently from one three to another while suppressing his Qi. In just a few jumps, he had arrived at the tallest peak of the mountain range. He hid amidst himself between the rock formation.

Much to his surprise, there was a massive natural hot spring lake that filled the entire crater with boiling water. However, what truly marvelled him the most was the sheer size of the lake. It was as big as a gulf!

There, he saw dozens of fishermen atop two flying ships, deploying a huge trawler net from coast to coast.

Ash was awestruck by the sheer engineering of those flying ships. Atop the main mast, there was a flag with a skull and crossed blades below it. Pirates!

He began to wonder, "what kind of Immortal Beasts that they tried to fish here?"

It didn’t take too long to realize what they were trying to catch. As the trawler net was being pulled up, his eyes rounded wide as he witnessed hundreds of Frost Mermaids were fished out of their habitat.

A laughter laced with greediness echoed from one of the ships. "Zehahaha! Reel them in! Don’t let any mermaid drop into the Hot Lake!"

Though he was driven by rage, Ash’ didn’t miss his target. With terrifying accuracy, he cut every knot of the trawler net without harming the trapped mermaids. Subsequently, they rained down into the hot lake once again.

In his mind, Ash was curious how a flock of Frost Mermaids could end up in this natural hot lake of all places. However, he still had something else to worry about right now.

He flapped his as hard as he could, shooting countless feathers onto the hot air balloon above the flying ships instead of aiming on the deck floor. At that instance, the hot air balloon which keep the flying ships hover above the water, gradually descended at increasing speed.

"Where did this chicken come from! Shoot it!"

"But! Our ship is falling down, Captain! We need to repair the holes as soon as possible!"

The pirate captain shot his henchman right between the eyes. "The ships aren’t gonna sing on hot water! Do as I say lest you want to be boiled alive!"

Afterward, rain of arrows came at him like a swarm of hungry locusts from one ship. Meanwhile, an endless volley of bullets and cannonballs were coming from the other one.

The pirate captain smirked wide. "Hehehe! I will feast on your meat and bones tonight!"

"That won’t happen."

Every human crew from both ships, including their captain, was dumbstruck as the Phoenix Beast was talking in human tongue.

Ash, of course, didn’t let this chance go to waste. He then summoned his Immortal Sentient Sword.

"Nightflame! Bring them hell!"

As the sword was summoned by its Master, Nightflame’s blade was burning so hot, incinerated the wooden flying ships in just a flash by empowering itself by utilizing the Yang Qi from this volcano mountain. As the air scorched above the boiling point, the airborne aphrodisiacs dissipated without a trace. Soon, the mermaids returned to their normal state.

In just a matter of seconds, both ships were turned into a fiery inferno that floated on the Hot Lake’s water surface. Whether it’s luck or his raw survival instinct, the captain managed to swim out of the inferno but only to find himself being surrounded by the angry mermaids.

Ash watched him being dragged into the abyss coldly. A moment later, there was a series of water followed by diluted blood.

He didn’t feel any remorse even though he had killed dozens of men. Once he ensured that there’s no threat that lurked around the Hot Lake’s premises, Ash opted to perch on a huge boulder which was situated amidst the lake.

Nightflame soon approached him, circling around his body endearingly. "En. Thank you. Good job, Nightflame."

"O, crimson saviour..." Soon later, a strong looking mermaid approached him. "We are forever indebted in your deeds for saving us from those savages."

Silvery scales shimmered across her long, sinuous tail, each one reflecting the cold light like polished moonstone. Her skin was a pale, flawless white, almost translucent, as if carved from the purest ice. Long, flowing hair the color of snow trails behind her in the water like a silken veil, dancing with every movement.

But it wasn’t just her beauty that captured his eyes. It’s s the dangerous combination of her form. An hourglass figure, impossibly elegant, both enchanting and haunting. Her eyes were glacial blue, and unreadable, yet so alluring it drew something feral within him.

Nevertheless, Ash remained calm,and didn’t show any gesture that might offend her.

"Don’t thank me yet. More might come here very soon. You have to get away from this Hot Lake as soon as possible!"

The mermaid shook her head. "We cannot. We must stay, until the very first ray of full moon bathes this lake. Showering us with both Yin and Yang Qi."

Ash tilted his head, curious. "That doesn’t make sense at all. Unmistakably, you all are Frost Mermaids, a race that supposedly lives in a cold region. Then why Hot Lake of all places?"

The mermaid blushed a tad. "We come here for procreation purposes and to end the dispute regarding who will be the next Matron Mother. The strongest female who could store the most sperm in their wombs without leaking it out, wins!"

"Hold on." Ash sent his gaze to the surroundings. After a closer look, he then realized that most of these aquatic creatures were indeed dominated by young males. One female for every five males. "Basically, you were saying to me that you guys are having an orgy in this Hot Like?! Sorry, I didn’t mean to judge your custom. It’s just too confusing."

"Fufufu... You’ll understand once you witness our transformation during the mating ritual."
