Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!
Chapter 1397 - 1397: The Nightmare Demons Are Shaken

-----

The darkness of the Nightmare Void continued swirling and spreading rapidly, constantly expanding, becoming larger, stronger, bigger. It spread through the entire world, beneath everyone's noses, not underground, but beneath their own plane of existence.

Constantly feeding on humanity's despair and their dark emotions, the Nightmare Void Sea continued growing endlessly, creating a dimension of its own of an even larger form and shape.

And amidst this strange, twisted Realm filled with the twisted nightmares and dreams of humanity, there was a gigantic castle floating above it.

The castle was constantly shifting its many floors, twisting. Sometimes it grew larger, and other times a bit smaller. Doors within opened constantly, as Nightmare Demons entered the castle, carrying with them bags made of nightmare shadows, filled to the brim with Dream Hearts.

They walked across the castle's corridors, placing the Dream Hearts, of beautiful pink color, into a large room, where a gigantic monstrosity ate them all, slowly producing constant, gigantic eggs as she ate them.

A tall Nightmare Demon glanced at the scene, his slim, slightly muscular body made him stand among the rest, and so did his extremely handsome face, and his gray colored skin. His blue eyes glanced down, glowing red sometimes.

A pair of black horns adorned his forehead, and he had long, dark blue hair cascading all the way down to his hips.

Alongside his beauty, he wore a black, refined suit, and held with his hands a small cup of wine. A special Wine was created extracting the pure essence of Dream Hearts and turning it into a liquor through nightmare power.

"Today as well, it has been a good harvest, my dear. I am sure you were hungry. Yes… Produce more, as many children as possible. We need them to take over the world after all. Just three more days… In three more days, this world shall final be ours."

As he smiled, he recalled the memories of over a hundred different loops, where he was constantly stopped, over and over and over again.

It was frustrating, to be locked within time itself to never achieve his goal, to finally take over this world, which he believed rightfully was of Nightmares and the Nightmare Demons.

"But at long last, we've finally reached the last loop. Her power has almost completely dwindled. I knew she couldn't keep doing this for eternity… Her sacrifice will be for nothing, hahah… How ironic."

As he laughed heartily, he walked through the castle, a black crown adorned his head, although it was rather small and inconspicuous. This man, resembling a handsome nightmare demon, walked into a huge room where his family were sitting around a black table.

Unlike his happy face, they all looked… Worried, some angered, others frustrated, most sad. He tilted his head, finding the situation rather strange.

"Well, well, what's the problem here? What with the long faces?" He wondered. "Hm? Wait, where's the little one and the lanky one?"

"For being their father you really are the worst, dad, you can't even remember the name of our siblings?!" Asked one of the Nightmare Demons angrily, resembling a seductress with long red hair and a single golden horn in her forehead, wearing a long black dress.

"Come on now, you don't have to be so rude with your father," a large, fat nightmare demon muttered, trying to lighten the mood with a gentle smile. "It is indeed sad… and frustrating! But he has no fault in what happened. Those two jumped into the danger themselves."

"But uncle, we could've been able to easily win if we were there with them!" She complained.

"Heey~ Enough with the annoying words already, I'm getting bored…" A young-looking nightmare demon boy yawned, wearing a sleeping hat over his head. "So you're here, father?"

"Yes… And it seems bad things have happened? Tell me."

The man walked forward, sitting over his throne as he heard the words from the other Nightmare Demons, his face twisted into utter anger after he heard it all, growing red.

"W-What?! They were killed?! First my daughter goes missing, and then two of my sons are… dead?!" He groaned in disbelief. "Why did none of you went with them?! What about an army of Nightmare Demons at least?"

"I-I sincerely apologize, your eminence!" muttered a clown girl-like nightmare demon. "I offered them an army of their own, and it was initially agreed upon, but once the day came, they completely neglected it and rejected the idea, saying they could do it alone and that they didn't want to wait any longer…"

"Haah… I cannot believe this, to think they were so reckless just because they are among the strongest Nightmare Demons…" The Nightmare Demon sighed, facepalming. "It is partially my fault too, for not getting a bit more serious about this situation. That group of Transmigrators is certainly unusual compared to the rest. Before, none of you was ever killed! But this… this changes thing. More annoyingly than I would've hoped."

In the past loops he could remember, none of the Transmigrators ever managed to kill a single Nightmare Demon from this group, who were the seven strongest of them all.

In fact, they most of the time easily overwhelmed the Transmigrators, slaughtering them easily in the last day once all nightmare demons began invading the world.

The only one that got far enough to enter the castle was quickly dealt with by him truly, so they never were a big threat.

"Most of the time were nothing but simpletons, even with cheats or other powers, none of them could ever touch us…" He sighed. "But now? Just in the last loop, a group strong enough to kill our kind appeared… This is not what that woman told me, she said that this would be smooth and easy…! I'll have to have a word with her, as quickly as possible."

As he said that, he quickly disappeared from his throne, leaving behind a cloud of soot, and then appearing in another place of his castle.

A room that was immense in size, like a pocket dimension of its own, with a beautiful garden, an endless grassland, forests, and a woman sitting right next to one of these trees, having a picnic alone.

"Are you upset, my lord?"

She immediately noticed his presence behind her.

"Why did you lie to me?"
