Chapter 61: Chapter 61: The Jian Father and Son
She meticulously described her husband and son’s appearance to Qin Xiangyang, as well as the clothes they were wearing.
Currently, the train station was not crowded, as everyone was rushing home for the New Year, so recognizing these two individuals was fairly easy.
Qin Xiangyang didn’t delay and went to meet them.
By the way, the pregnant woman’s name is Li Qiuhua, and her husband’s last name is Jian, his name is Jian Ming. They have a son, now twelve years old, named Jian Zhiqing, who resembles his father quite closely.
Indeed, these two weren’t too difficult to find. When Qin Xiangyang went over, he happened to see the anxious father and son duo, frantically searching. He approached and asked; sure enough, it was the Jians. When they quickly reached the Qin siblings’ shop, the moment they entered, they were instantly enveloped in warmth. Several stoves were lit, and after Li Qiuhua had eaten her fill, she also felt sleepy. Qin Xiangnuan had her rest on Wendi’s small bed, and now she was already sound asleep.
Qin Xiangnuan thought that the Jian father and son would be hungry when they got back. It was close to the New Year, and already there weren’t many shops open. In fact, her family’s wasn’t open either. They just happened to come to clean today and ran into a family-of-three famished.
While Qin Xiangyang went to pick them up, she cooked some egg pancakes and boiled a pot of porridge.
The porridge she made was originally only enough for her and her brother. Now, Li Qiuhua had eaten it all, not even a smidgen was left at the bottom of the pot, so she could only boil another pot. The porridge was already simmering and would be ready shortly.
"Uncle Jian, Brother Jian, this is the place—this is our family’s shop. Usually, we sell food, but today my sister and I came here to clean. We happened to encounter Aunt Li who was almost fainting from hunger, so we brought her over," Qin Xiangyang explained.
The sharp eyes of Jian Ming scanned the interior. Upon seeing Li Qiuhua sound asleep, he finally relaxed. Li Qiuhua’s complexion was quite good at the moment, perhaps because the place was warm enough, which brought a rosy tint to her cheeks.
There weren’t excessive smells inside the shop, and even the blankets, which had been laundered, carried a fragrance of detergent. Although it was the scent of a cleaning product, it was nonetheless clean.
A little girl of over six years scooped two large bowls of porridge onto the table, along with a plate containing fried, golden egg pancakes in the center.
"Uncle, aren’t you going to eat?"
Qin Xiangnuan raised her head, only then able to see the man’s face. He was rather tall, probably over 180 centimeters, and standing beside him was a young boy. Father and son indeed looked very much alike, though Jian Zhiqing’s face looked slightly younger. However, they both had slender phoenix eyes, straight noses, and attractive lips, which never curved upwards, giving the impression of sternness.
Jian Ming rubbed Qin Xiangnuan’s little head with a serious expression, but a trace of tenderness that was not easily discernible showed in his dark pupils.
"Thank you," said Jian Ming. Despite the person being young, he felt the need to express his gratitude.
The father and son sat down and began to eat. Not just Li Qiuhua, but the Jian father and son too, were famished. There weren’t many places to buy food around here, and it became even harder to find with the approach of the New Year. Otherwise, Li Qiuhua would not have needed to send both father and son out in search of food, without anyone else by their side.
Qin Xiangnuan scooped a bowl of porridge for Qin Xiangyang, "Brother, you eat."
