"All of you, go out..." He coldly dismissed them, and they hurriedly got out of the wardroom closing the door while Huo Zheng came back from the other side of the hallway and met them at the door.

"What happened?" He worriedly inquired as he opened the wardroom door to walk in.

"We were told to go out and so we did!" Huo Qi hoarsely muttered as Huo Zheng got inside placed the container he had gotten into the top of the bedside drawer and stepped out.

"We Wei..." He endearingly called her as he tried to drag the covers away but her grip was even tighter than before like she was holding onto her life. How could she let him look at her old self?

Knowing that it could be self-esteem, he could only assure her, that it was easy to have fears when things change so drastically.

"It’s just your hair, see how beautiful it’s! You would never be old in my eyes!" He bit his lower lip as he didn’t know what to say apart from these few words that sounded coyish. He had never been in love before or had any relationship experience, so he felt it was more difficult facing her with how insecure she was feeling about herself.

"Really? You promise?" She softly muttered from under the covers.

"Yes! I will keep my word!" He hoarsely muttered gazing at the covered head assuring her, she slowly dragged the covers away with his assurance. So long as she was beautiful in his eyes, then nothing mattered the most. His opinion was the only positive thing she needed to hear.

She sweetly blinked her dark purple eyes gazing at him warmly, he was the only family she had, and at those dangerous moments, he was the only person she thought of, and she was scared of being abandoned.

Knowing her fears, he held her shoulders and hugged her closely comforting her. "We have each other, that’s enough!" When he couldn’t find her, he realised how important she was in his life. Without her, he didn’t want to stick around.

"Mnnnh..." She hugged him wrapping her arms around his torso and she fell asleep. That calm and stable breath indicated how trustful she was to him, he assisted her to lay back on the bed but she suddenly clung onto his neck as her hands wrapped around it.

"Don’t leave..." She sleepily muttered.

"I’m not leaving... I just want to remove these pearls and store them away for future use..." He gently tapped her hands assuring her while he bent over closely almost his nose tip touching her nose tip.

Having a close gaze, he could see her supple cheeks and flawless milky white skin. It was smooth and glowing as a jade, if she ever decided to endorse skin products, each company would wish to have her on board with such flawless and admirable skin.

Her eyebrows were still thin and dark and so were her rossy rounded full lips... He moved one of his hands that was supporting his body on the hospital bed and gently caressed her full lips while the other hand supported his body.

"Don’t be naughty!" She softly giggled letting go before turning around and sleeping sideways gazing towards the wall while her back faced the entrance door of the wardroom.

Huo Shen was immediately woken up from those intrusive thoughts and roughly coughed as his face blushed. After getting his emotions together, he picked up the container and stuffed all the pearls into it.

He opened the bed covers and got other pearls storing them away into the container. He closed the container top screwing the lid tightly.

He gently caressed her hair before getting up picking up his iPad and strolling out of the wardroom.

He opened the door and found them there in the hallway pacing around.

"Bao Shu, Bao Shi... Keep watch over her and carefully store this container away, you two, let’s go..." After instructing them and giving them that container carrying the pearls, he strolled away as Huo Zheng and Huo Qi followed him.

They went over to the morgue where Sergeant Tu’s postmortem procedure was underway, Sergeant Mu was present and with the other two Captains.

"Commander Huo..." they saluted seeing him,and he nodded his head lazily without gazing at him.

"Commander Huo, some files are missing inside the office and it’s messed up at the back store like they were searching for something..." Sergeant Mu immediately reported back what he found out after going over to that office.

"Did you move or touch those things?" Huo Shen slightly frowned lifting his hand and gently caressing his masked face. Huo Zheng got the hand gloves and passed them over to him noticing he was starting to get irritated.

It was the first time they were seeing his hands without gloves on, earlier on, he had always worn them mostly because of the green veins that bulged all over the place but now, his hand was smooth and had jade-like fingers.

The skin around his hand was milky white just like his neck and a part of his shown face. Deep down, they could feel this man wasn’t a monster as people thought with a huge mark on his face, he must be a handsome but beautiful man with perfect features.

Feeling that peering gaze, Huo Shen hastily turned his head and came face to face with one of the Captains who was gawking at him so shamelessly.

He didn’t like people looking at him at all, and before he could act, Sergeant Mu held the captain’s hand and dragged him out of that room after noticing the room temperature change.

"Be careful of your eyes!" With that caution, he went back into the room to see what the forensic pathologist had found.

"I didn’t touch anything... I left them the way they were..." Sergeant Mu got back and responded loudly exhaling.

This Captain was his relative and he had been in a special group that handled drug trafficking and human trafficking, with good merits, he recently got promoted and had just begun working with Sergeant Tu and most of the time he had been doing his services out of the camp discreetly and it was his first time to see Huo Shen.
