In a short time, two doctors who were on duty that night came into the room with several nurses accompanying them. Evan immediately gave space for them to examine his wife.

Also, he did not forget to remind his father-in-law and the rest of the family about Rose’s condition.

In the corner, his heart and mind could not calm down, waiting for the results of the doctor’s examination.

After a few minutes, finally, the doctor finished examining Rose’s condition. She is fine and no longer needs to wear a respirator. However, she was not allowed to get up and had to stay in bed for the time being.

"Thank you, doctor..." Evan thanked him sincerely as he walked them to the door. Afterward, he stepped back on the side of the bed, smiling broadly and looking at his beautiful wife. He said, "My wife, how are you feeling!?"

"S-Sorry Evan, I’ve made you worry." Rose’s weak voice made Evan smile bitterly. It was his fault. If he had not been provoked into flying to Paris, none of this would have happened.

"Wife, no need to say those words...." Evan sat on the edge of the bed, smoothed out a few strands of hair, and pulled them behind her ear. He continued his sentence, "The most important thing is that you come back to me healthy..."

Hearing Evan’s words made Rose move.

But she still blamed herself because she was so stupid to go to the pharmacy without Sam. Just because she was curious that her period didn’t come, she forgot Evan’s message to not go anywhere without Sam.

Suddenly she remembered her menstrual period, she hadn’t had time to do the test yet, and now she was curious.

"Can the doctor find out my condition with a blood check?" She talked to herself as she averted her gaze to avoid Evan’s gaze.

She wanted to ask her mother-in-law if they could do that. For now, she didn’t want to tell Evan, afraid he would be disappointed again if he found out she wasn’t pregnant.

"Hubby, about that guy..." Rose suddenly thought about Dustin. In her memory, the man lay lifeless. She didn’t know what happened next because, after that, she lost consciousness.

She wondered if that man was really dead or if he could still be helped.

"He is dead!" There was a nameless fire dance in Evan’s gaze as he recalled that bastard. "That man is obsessed with you. We found much evidence at his residence, all related to you."

Rose was surprised to hear that. Dustin, that bastard is really Evil!!

"Don’t worry, my wife, that man won’t bother you anymore." He rubbed her hand, trying to make her feel better after seeing her eyes radiate anger and fear.

She didn’t say a word, but it was clear that she was very disturbed by the fact that she had killed the top movie star.

In everyone’s eyes, Willard Harper is a kind and sweet man with millions of fans out there who love him. However, for Rose, that man is a killer! He was Dustin Moses. That man had killed her once and nearly killed her again; in past and present lives.

"Brother Sean will be handling the case. No one will judge you. That bastard is at fault here. Even if you kill him many times, you will not be punished. You are only defending yourself..."

"Pleased to hear it." She said softly.

"Wife, it looks like you’ll be staying here for a month before we can take you back to the capital..." Evan chuckled as he saw her widen her eyes. "Why do you look so surprised?"

"Am I really that badly injured?" She wasn’t in too much pain fighting Willard, but she could tell she had a broken bone.

"Yeah, really bad. And..." Evan stopped as a smile bloomed on his face looking gently at her. He said, "...you are pregnant, so your father was cautious during the surgery last night."

Instantly Rose felt like she was electrocuted. Her body trembled slightly hearing Evan’s words.

Pregnant? Am I pregnant? Is that true?

"E-Evan... are you serious? I’m pregnant?" she asked in a trembling voice.

"Yes, dear. I think you knew that already, right? That’s why you went to the pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test?" He rubbed her cold cheek and smiled at her.

"I haven’t gotten my period yet. That’s why I want to know..." Her eyes were blurry as a feeling of immense joy almost exploded inside her mind.

Rose was so happy that she finally got pregnant after almost a year of marriage with Evan. "H-How’s the baby?"

She was scared of the condition of her fetus after what happened on the island. The man kicked her hard when she came face to face with him.

"Our baby is healthy. But now, because of your condition like this, we must pay extra attention to the fetus, so... Don’t stop eating healthy food for our baby!" Evan’s voice sounded so melodious in Rose’s ears.

Our baby! It sounds so lovely.

"I will... I will do anything for our baby!" She tried to wipe away the tears that were slowly flowing from the corner of her eyes. But before she could do it, Evan did it for her.

"Our parents and our grandfathers are on their way here. They all came to this city after finding out you were kidnapped..."

"Poor them. I can always make them worry..." Rose cursed herself for often making her parents worry about her.

"Hey, look at me..." Evan squeezed her hand after seeing her depressed mood return. "...You and our baby’s health are important right now. There’s no need to feel sad and depressed about the past..."

"I know, but..." Evan’s index finger landed on her lips and slowly moved his head towards her. He kissed her dry lips gently before he said,

"No, but. From now on, you only have to think about pleasant things. Promise me?"

She nodded while smiling at him, and Evan kissed her again.
