Chapter 508: Death

An evil smile framed his face as he took a gun and pointed it at her. "Now, it’s time to stop!"

Rose’s eyes stared at the gun in Willard’s hand aimed at her.

"Listen, Rose, I could hurt you if you make me do it. And hurting you is the last thing I want to do to you. So, please don’t force me, okay!?"

She could feel his words’ sincerity, yet she remained silent, not even moving an inch.

"Now! Throw away your fork and head down there, sit obediently, and wait for me to return. I have to clean up the wound you gave me, Rose!" His tone sounded like an order, but she remained motionless. She just threw away the fork in her hand.

"I won’t hear you, Dustin! You can shoot me if you want. I’m not afraid to die..." A half smile appeared from the corners of her lips. "You killed me once. If you want to kill me again, go ahead!"

"You damn woman!! What do you want!?" Dustin couldn’t hold his calmness any longer. This girl tests his patients, and now, his patient is running out! He wanted to treat his neck immediately. He could feel his body getting weaker now.

He walked towards her with one hand he held tightly to his gun and pointed it at her temple, but he stopped when his cell phone in the desk drawer rang. He frowned. It’s an emergency phone, and only his bodyguards outside knew the number.

Why do they call now?

Without waiting, he walked straight to the table while still aiming his gun at Rose, "If you move, I’ll shoot you, Rose!"

Rose glared at him and kept a safe distance from him. Her mind was busy looking for an opportunity to steal his gun. A few months ago, her grandfather taught her how to steal a pistol, and she mastered it in just a few weeks.

But she had only practiced all this time without ever experiencing a situation like now. Obviously, this was much more challenging than when she was training.

"What is it!?" asked Dustin, annoyed. His sharp eyes stared at the girl still staring at him without moving.

"Use all our defenses. Do whatever you can. Just kill everyone who forces their way in." Dustin hung up, but before seeing Rose, the gun in his hand disappeared.

"What!?" Dustin is screaming as his eyes stare in horror at Rose, now pointing a gun at him. "H-How did you do it?"

How could that girl steal his gun without his notice!? He was confused.

"Stop playing with that gun! You could get hurt, Rose!!" He said as he stepped closer to her.

Rose didn’t dare to shoot him, afraid the guards would hear the gunshots. She didn’t respond to Dustin’s words, but as soon as the man got closer, she sent her powerful kick to his chest.

She knew this man was already weak. His face was pale as paper, and his hands trembled to press against the wound on his neck.

This time, she didn’t want to make a mistake. After seeing that man stumble backward, she dashed at him and kicked his knee. To make sure this man couldn’t walk.

His screams in pain made Rose’s heart beat fast, but she didn’t give him a chance to get up.

She picked up the iron statue on the bookshelf and struck him hard on the head, his body slumping on the floor with blood spurting from his head.

"Y-You dare to hurt me?" His voice sounded shaky while trying to get up, but Rose hit his head one more time before he could stand. His body once again slumped to the floor. But this time, not a word came out of him, not even a whimper.

She stood there motionless, but her hands tightly gripped the statue and gun. Her mind was horrified at Willard’s body moving erratically on the floor like a fish thrashing on land.

"Sorry, D-Dustin... I hope our encounter ends here. If God gives you a chance to be reborn, please don’t look for me again. You have to find your happiness..." Rose said while tears slowly flowed from the corners of her eyes, and her hands shook.

The statue in her hand fell because Willard’s body was no longer moving.

"I-Is he dead!?" Her voice trembled as she covered her mouth, trying not to make a sound.

She felt a thrill but, at the same time, relieved. Because this man would never hurt her again.

"Everything was over... You will be fine, Rose!!" She said, but suddenly her knees felt weak. She slammed on the floor while her eyes were still on Willard Harper, who was motionless, not far from her.

After making sure the man was dead, she took Willard’s cell phone and dialed Evan’s number, but his phone was off. Likewise, with Sam’s phone.

"W-why did their phones turn off!? Are they on the plane?" She muttered.

Even though her knees were weak, she forced herself to look outside through the window, but she saw nothing. She could only pray that the people breaking through this island would be Evan.

Even though that bastard was dead now, she wasn’t completely safe. There are still many guards out there, and her energy is running out. She could feel deep wounds on her chest and back. The pain was unbearable, and she couldn’t move freely.

She couldn’t fight the guards even though she had a gun. For now, she would rest to restore her energy and hope that Evan could read the text she sent and find her location.

After she locked the door, she could feel her eyes blur, and her head hurt. She huddled behind the couch to hide.

Only now did she feel that her chest was painful. Every breath she took was like a dagger slicing through her heart. This nameless pain made her want to lose consciousness...
