Chapter 395: Spy

Rose, who finished shopping, approached Oscar. She was surprised when she saw Oscar’s face turn tense while talking on the phone—looks like he was in trouble.

Is there a problem at the office?

"What’s the matter, Oscar? Why do you look so tense?"

Oscar almost jumped from his chair when he heard Rose’s voice so close. He immediately hung up the call and looked at her.

"B-Boss... n-nothing. Are you guys done yet?" an awkward smile framing Oscar’s panicked face.

"Yes, we finished. You looked...uneasy. What happened to you?"

"Mmm...don’t blame me, boss. It’s past lunchtime, and now I’m starving. Do you mind if we go to lunch now?" Oscar was worried that Rose overheard his conversation with Wolf. Now, he was trying his best to distract her.

"Alright!" Rose and Keira follow Oscar out of the watch shop.

Oscar walked towards the restaurant while trying to hide his worried expression. He didn’t want Rose to be suspicious of him. Oscar knew that Rose was very good at observing and reading people’s minds. Several times he was caught trying to trick her—he couldn’t hide anything from her.

Silver Phoenix is in a complicated situation—there’s a spy in their organization leaking Evan’s position and causing an ambush in Brooklyn to be inevitable.

There were two possibilities for what happened in the Silver Phoenix; First, someone hacked the Silver Phoenix database. Second, someone became spies in the organization.

For possibility number one, it’s impossible.

Because if anyone tries to break into the system, he will be notified. He firmly believed in the security system he had created for the Silver Phoenix—no one could break through its defenses except for his master. And that couldn’t happen either because his master was Evan.

Then for possibility number two, this is very likely to happen. Someone had betrayed the organization—leaked classified information and caused the Chief to be injured. This crime is unforgivable.

Whoever leaked their Chief location, that person was savage. It seemed he was tired of living, so he dared to betray the organization. Stupid move!

What Oscar learned from Wolf, now, a special team is tracking down the traitor. And, as a Silver Phoenix hacker, he can’t wait to help the tracking team, yet he can’t do anything—his laptop is in the office.

Oscar massaged his temple, feeling both helpless and irritated. Now all he could do was tighten Lady Boss’ security. And hope that her identity is not exposed. If her identity is known by dangerous and unwanted people, then...

Suddenly Oscar’s body shivered at the thought.

Without waiting for instructions, Oscar sent a request to basecamp; asked the other team to support them from a distance—unnoticed by the lady boss—so she wouldn’t be suspicious.

Soon they were seated in the VIP room of a Japanese restaurant. Rose sat beside Keira while Oscar sat across from them.

"Oscar, don’t hide anything from me! I can see in your eyes you’re in trouble. Tell me, what happened?" Rose looked deep into Oscar’s eyes, trying to guess his mood. After a few seconds of waiting, he didn’t say anything... She was sure Oscar was in trouble.

Keira, who had just finished texting Oliver, raised her head and looked at Oscar. She was surprised to see Oscar’s face turn gloomy, "Huh! You look awful, Oscar. Are you sure you’re feeling okay?" Keira asked worriedly.

"Oscar, let’s go to the hospital. I’ll take you there..." Rose started to worry after hearing Keira’s words. She could see Oscar looking in pain, but this man was too scared to tell her.

Oscar, "..." what the hell! Who is sick!?

"B-Boss... I’m fine. But I have a critical problem!!"

"What!!" Rose and Keira screamed in surprise. "What problem!?"

"I have to go to the restroom, you know? That stomach ache..."

"Damn it, Oscar!! Just go to the toilet!!" Rose suddenly felt like hitting this idiot. Her worries were in vain. Gosh!

"Haha... I can hold it, don’t worry, boss. Let’s finish here and head back to the office!" Oscar stood following Rose and Keira out of the restaurant.

Who’s worried? It felt like Rose wanted to scold him.

"Oscar, you can go to the toilet first. I’ll wait for you at the coffee shop near the main entrance..." Rose glared at Oscar, then dragged Keira to buy coffee.

Oscar cursed himself for carelessly giving excuses. Having no other choice, he left Rose and Keira—pretending to go to the toilet.

"That fool Oscar, how could he resist the urge to go to the toilet just because he didn’t want to leave you alone, sis!?"

"Yeah, he’s foolish, similar to Sam!" Rose sighed, remembering Sam still couldn’t return to work as her bodyguard.

"Brother Evan is too overprotective of you, sis." Keira glanced at Rose, who had just finished paying for their coffee. "Aren’t you uncomfortable being under such tight security?"

As a Spencer daughter, Keira doesn’t like bodyguards following her around. That’s why she doesn’t want her identity as part of the Spencer family to be exposed. So that she can be free, like most people—she can go anywhere without worrying about her safety.

"Of course, I’m not comfortable! I’ve protested to Evan several times, but you know him, right!?"

Rose took a deep breath.

"Yeah, I know him so well..." Keira chuckled.

"As for my security concerns, I can’t change his decision. Even though it feels uncomfortable being followed by bodyguards, considering the reason, for my safety, I have no choice but to accept it." Rose smiles at Keira, "Kei, your brother is warm. Although he can be overprotective sometimes, I take it as a sign of his love for me..."

Keira couldn’t help but laugh.

"I still can’t believe a man as cold as him can be so warm to you, sis. Back then, I even predicted that brother Evan might never marry—seeing how much he hated women who approached him..."

"I know. Even my mother-in-law once thought Evan had a sexual orientation problem...."

"Haha, I hear that too. My mother and aunty Doris often say that. So when I found out he was dating you, my whole family and I were utterly shocked. Finally, someone can conquer his frozen heart."

Rose couldn’t help but laugh at Keira’s words.

"Girl! Could you stop talking about me? Let’s talk about you, shall we? How far is your relationship with Oliver!?"
