Rebirth: Dancing In My Destiny
Chapter 360: Accident (2)

Chapter 360: Accident (2)

"Sam! Get out of the way, Sam!!!" Oliver shouted as he quickly threw himself to protect the girl next to him.

"W-What happened?" Rose couldn’t see anything because Oliver was blocking her view as if he was protecting her from something. Just before she wanted to ask him, their car stopped suddenly.

Seconds later, Rose could feel their car reverses at full speed, followed by a loud crash torturing her ears. She felt her body being pushed forward violently, and her forehead hurt as she hit Oliver’s sturdy chest.

Rose was utterly shocked.

However, her shock was replaced with extreme fear when a car hit them from behind, followed by another loud crash that could strike her ears.

It didn’t stop there, she could feel the car starting to move again, but this time, the car slid off the cliff.

She was scared to death because the car she was driving was now sliding down the cliff. For a moment, it was as if someone was flipping through their SUV car, making their bodies feel like they were spinning.

The sound of a car hitting a hard object echoed and assaulted her ears. She tried to look around, but it was as if the world was spinning fast, making her suddenly feel dizzy. She closed her eyes tightly while protecting her head with both hands—protecting from hitting a hard object—but then she felt a strong hand pulling her.

She didn’t resist because she knew it was Oliver’s hand pulling her close to his chest.

For a moment, she felt safe. However, the violent impact and intense shock made her heart feel like it had left her.

Will they die in this place?

Die because their car slid to the bottom of the ravine?

Terrifying thoughts filled her mind, making her breath feel short.

It wasn’t just Rose who felt scared but Oliver too. He couldn’t think straight. But one thing came to his mind; how to protect the girl who was now trembling in his arms.

He could feel the girl frightened, and her voice sounded amidst a loud bang as their car hit a hard object, "O-Oliver... what... what happened...." She asks between her tears.

Oliver was silent because, at the same time, he felt unbearable pain in his shoulder. Like someone had just cut his hand with a sharp object. And the smell of blood that he hated so much filled his senses of smell. He looked behind to check, but suddenly his body shivered when he saw a branch the size of an adult’s hand stuck in his shoulder. His eyes felt dim.

He slowly bit his lip, trying to hold back the scream at the end of his throat. The pain cannot be described in words. Slowly he closed his eyes.

"SAM!!! OLIVER!!!" Rose called out to them when the car finally stopped after a few minutes of sliding down.

Slowly Rose opened her eyes and tried to look around her; there were only tree branches to the left and right. The back of their car was facing the rock wall. Rose thought their car got stuck in a massive tree, with the front of the vehicle pointing into a ravine.

She didn’t dare imagine the actual position of their car. Too scary.

Looking ahead, she saw Oliver’s body still in a strange position. He seems to be hanging in front of her. His eyes closed, and his face as white as paper.

"O-Oliver!?" her voice trembled when she saw Oliver’s face. She saw fresh blood dripping from the corner of his lips.

As the strong metallic scent entered her sense of smell, her body stiffened.

Whose blood is this? Thought Rose.

Spontaneously she looked for wounds all over her body. She could see wounds on her hands but only minor injuries.

"So, whose blood is this?" She murmurs under her breath.

She looked at Oliver again, who was still in front of her, when she realized there was something strange with him. Her body was shaking, and she could feel her head hurt.

W-Why is he just staying in front of her? Even though their car has stopped spinning!? He can turn around in his seat, right?

"Oliver? Oliver! What happened to you?" She calls his name again, but there’s no reaction from him.

"Sam..." Rose slowly turned her gaze to Sam sitting behind the wheel, right in front of Oliver’s empty seat.

"Lady Boss, are you alright?" Sam, look back. He was surprised when he saw Oliver’s body right in front of Rose, and a large wooden branch stuck in his shoulder. The wooden branch entered through the windshield, which now had no glass.

"SHIT!!" Sam tried to unbuckle his seatbelt to see their condition. Worried that the wood would pierce Rose’s body as well. But, as soon as he tried to move his legs, he froze. His leg got stuck, and he couldn’t move. No matter how hard he tried to pull his leg, he couldn’t; The dashboard clamped his feet.

"Lady Boss, I need you to answer me! Are you okay!? Are you hurt?"

"S-Sam... I’m fine. I’m fine... but Oliver... he’s bleeding. His face was ashen. Sam, please do something. C-Call someone, anyone..." Rose stuttered to finish her sentence when she saw fresh blood starting to drip from the end of Oliver’s dangling hand.

She was scared to death. This feeling was more terrifying when Dustin nearly raped her. Also, when she was held hostage by someone in the city of Vale.

Rose was afraid.

She’s afraid that something might happen to motionless Oliver. Afraid their car will fall to the bottom of the ravine, they might lose their lives in this place if it does.

"Please, God... don’t take my life like this. After you brought me back to life, how can you give me death like now?" Rose couldn’t help but try to plead with God in her heart.

Her body began to tremble at the thought of leaving this world, leaving Evan and her newly united parents. She wasn’t ready to part with them yet. She had just tasted the sweetness of life, but she had to lose everything again!?

Just imagining all of that shatters her fragile heart.

When Rose was lost in her thoughts...

Sam finds his cell phone. Since their car almost hit the bottom of the ravine, there was no signal in that place. He changed his phone mode and used Silver Phoenix’s secure call, but it took a while to connect to the satellite.

He looked back to double-check Rose and Oliver’s condition. He saw Oliver still motionless and fresh blood dripping from his shoulder forming a pool of blood at the bottom of the car.

Sam was worried about his condition, but, as someone used to see wounds like this, he was sure none of Oliver’s vital organs could threaten his life. But Sam fears that if Oliver doesn’t get help soon enough, he could die from blood loss.

"Oliver!?" Sam was trying to make sure this guy didn’t die—He’s not that weak, right!?—since then, he hasn’t made a sound.

"Hmm..." Oliver’s low voice relieved Sam.

"You will be fine, buddy! Just try to hang in there...." Then Sam looked at Rose, "L-Lady boss, can you move away from Oliver?"

"I can. But Sam, this car looks like we’re stuck in a tree branch. I’m afraid if I move, we could fall again!?" Rose said without looking at Sam. She was observed outside the car.

She was too frightened to move. If she moved to move into Oliver’s seat, their car could slide back into the ravine. Just imagining what happened earlier made her feel like she was about to pass out.

Rose, who finished observing her surroundings, looked at Sam. And how shocked she was when she realized Sam’s foot was stuck between the dashboard and the driver seat.

Sam’s leg!? Is he injured too?

Just before she wanted to ask, she heard Sam talk to someone.

"Russell! Connect me to Big Boss. This is a grade S case!" Sam said it firmly but still sounded calm. Rose could hear him speak clearly without any stutter.

The person on the other end was surprised to hear Sam Russel’s request—a direct line with the big boss.

And when he heard Sam say ’S-Level,’ he suddenly stood up from his chair. He couldn’t delay. Immediately, he asked the help of a friend beside him to activate a secure channel to contact Big Boss.

Still in the hotel room waiting for Marvin Sanders’ arrival, Evan was surprised to receive a call from the Silver Phoenix—Sam asked to speak to him.

Why?

He frowned when he glanced at his watch.

Sam and his wife should arrive at the mine, but why did he contact him via the Silver Phoenix satellite?

Isn’t there a phone signal in the mining location?

"Sam!?" Evan’s worried voice came from the other end.

"Boss! Please send help immediately. We just had an accident...." Sam immediately reported their current situation.

Evan froze on the other end.
