Chapter 281: Parent’s Wedding (2)
They headed to the Spencer family’s primary residence at ten in the morning for her parents’ wedding celebration.
Rose couldn’t hide her excitement. She was excited to talk to Evan about her parents along the way.
"After marriage, where will your parents live?"
"Father said they would live in North Hill. He built a house for mom. But, he also said they would stay in Little Heaven on weekends..."
Rose was surprised to learn that her father had been building a house for her mother. But because he couldn’t find her mother, the place that had been made for years was left empty. Only the housemaid took care of the house. Her father never lived there. But after her father found them, he asked people to renovate the building.
"Sounds good! Too bad, if the house in Little Heaven is left empty..." Evan said as he focused on driving his car again.
"Yes, you are right!"
The road they took to North Hill this morning was not very busy.
Their car cruised faster than usual. It only takes about 40 minutes of an hour’s drive from Little Heaven to North Hill via the freeway. And it wasn’t long before their car arrived at The North Hill, the Spencer family’s private estate.
Rose had often come to this area for shooting practice.
However, this was only the second time she had come to the Spencer family’s main house. The first time she came here, she had been invited to dinner by her grandfather, but that time, she had come alone, without her mother, who was still in a coma.
Returning to her father’s childhood home warms her heart. Moreover, this time she came here with her parents with her different status; she officially became a Spencer.
Rose was surprised when their car entered the courtyard of the mansion. She saw the rows of the mansion’s maids in their immaculate black and white suites. They seemed to be lining up to welcome them.
Among the people lining up to receive the guests, she also saw her father’s family; her grandfather, uncle Jayson with his wife and children. And her aunt Amanda too. All of Spencer’s attention was on Molly and Nicholas. They had completely forgotten about Rose.
Rose, who was walking far behind her parents, deliberately distanced herself. Because today is her parents’ special day, it’s only natural that they get all the attention.
"Mom looks so happy surrounded by her new family...." She mumbled. Evan, who was walking beside her, nodded.
"Not only your mother but old Spencer is also delighted. Since his wife’s death, he has been devastated, especially since his two children are not married, even though they are not young anymore. But everything changed when you and your mother came. This family grew...."
Rose was astonished to hear that.
"Speaking of my grandmother, I have absolutely no idea which family she is from. I’ve never heard about her..."
"That’s because, old Spencer, forbid them to talk about your grandma. Because old Spencer feels so sad whenever he hears someone talk about his late wife." Evan took her hand before he continued his words, "Well, your grandmother came from a family of scholars. I will let you know if your grandma’s family attends this party...."
"Yes, please let me know... It feels exciting to know them."
"Wife, you must remember. Spencer’s relationship with your grandmother’s family was not harmonious. So, you don’t need to be too familiar with them...."
"Huh! Why is that?" Rose asked, confused.
"Well, I don’t really know what the problem is. But, you can ask your father or grandfather if you have a chance."
Rose was surprised.
"Sister, Rose... Gosh! you look like a goddess...." Keira Spencer suddenly appeared beside Rose and wrapped her arms around her cousin.
A forced smile appeared on Rose’s lips as she saw Keira staring at her with her puppy eyes. This girl looks adorable and cheerful as usual. The A-line knee-length dress made her look like a living doll.
Seeing Keira this close made Rose realize they were wearing the same color dress, only the style was different. And not only were the two of them wearing the same color but all the women from the Spencer family and her mother-in-law, Doris, also wore ice blue.
And to Rose’s surprise, it turned out that Evan and the male family members also wore matching navy blue suits. She was sure this must be her aunt Amanda Spencer’s idea.
"Brother Evan! You have to smile. This is a happy occasion, not a funeral!" Keira Spencer also greeted Evan, who was walking behind them
Rose almost tripped over her own feet when she heard Keira’s witty words. She couldn’t help but smile at her annoyed husband.
"Hi Keira, you also look beautiful in your dress..." Rose smiled, seeing her short dark brown hair that was now wavy. This hairstyle suits her very well. She looks prettier.
"Hahaha, Sister Rose, don’t flatter me, okay!" Keira said while bringing Rose into the house, following the others. "Sis, why can’t I see brother Noah? He didn’t come?" Keira asked while looking at the group that came with Rose. She only saw Noah Stone’s father among them.
Rose smiled, seeing how disappointed this girl was because she didn’t see Noah among them, "Well, he didn’t come because he has urgent business." Rose said quietly. Keira was not the only one sad that Noah wasn’t coming to this party. Rose was also feeling the same.
"Even though I made myself this beautiful just to be able to meet him today..." The disappointment in Keira’s eyes was unmistakable.
"If you came to Little Heaven last night, you could meet him. Noah, come to the family dinner with his father..."
"WHAT!" Keira’s scream caught the attention of the people around them. In an instant, she covered her mouth and whispered to Rose, "Sister, there was a family dinner at your house last night?"
"Yeah... why didn’t you come?"
"Wait! Am I invited?" Keira asked, confused.
