Chapter 261: Awake

Rose’s mind thought she was hallucinating, looking at her mother staring back at her. But after a few seconds of staring at each other, she realized she was not hallucinating. This is real! Her mother was awake. Instantly the book in her hand fell to the floor, and her entire body shook from happiness.

"Mom!! Mom!" Rose gasped. "Y-You awake? M-Mommy? OMG!! OMG!! Wait wait! Hang in there, mom...." In a flash, Rose reached for the emergency button on the side of the bed to call the doctor.

She tries her best to not panic. She tries to think clearly. But of course, she fails. She can’t control her raging heart. Like there was a storm in her heart that made her unable to stay still. Her eyes, unable to look anywhere else but her mother’s face. She wanted to make sure that what she saw was not her imagination.

"Mom! I miss you so much. Why sleep too long, huh?" Rose’s voice trembles. Her body was still shaking as she took her mother’s hand and held it. "Did you miss me, mom? S-Say something, huh!? Why are you only staring at me?" Her tears began to fill her eyes. With one hand, she wiped her tears. Later, when she saw her mother trying to say something but no sound came out, she panicked.

Rose tries to read her lips but fails to understand what she wants to say.

"Mom? Mommy hung in there. The doctor will come soon to check your condition. Please, please don’t sleep again. Don’t leave me again, mom. I’m scared!"

She tightened her grip on her mother’s warm hand and prayed to God to not give her empty hope. She hopes this is not her imagination whatsoever! She hopes her mother wakes up healthy.

Shortly after, Rose could hear a few quick steps approaching the room. She saw a few nurses and a male doctor trying to check on her mother in no time.

"Doctor! Please help my mom. I beg you...." Rose cried.

"Ms. Spencer, of course, we will. But, please help us by remaining calm, okay? Please calm down and wait outside. The doctors will do their best, trust us." One of the nurses tried to calm her.

"I know. I understand. But can I wait by the door? I won’t bother you." After seeing the nurse nod, Rose immediately stepped back towards the door. She will not leave her mother. But she also wouldn’t bother the doctors and nurses examining her mother.

Rose silently stood behind as she took out her cell phone. Her heart still beats wildly, trying to call her father.

"Dad!! Dad!! Mom, My Mom... she woke up!! Hurry, come back here, dad. My mom can’t talk, and she looks in pain." Rose whispered softly as her eyes still looked at her mother.

Nicholas was surprised to hear his daughter’s phone call. This is good news. He can feel, his heartfelt delight.

Finally, his lover woke up.

"Rose! My daughter, calm down. And don’t panic. Have you called the doctor and nurses?" He said calmly.

"I have! They are now checking mom’s condition. But dad, mom, she looked closed her eyes again. Hurry, dad, come here, help her to wake up!" Rose’s eyes looked at her mother in horror. Fear of her mother’s conditions getting worse.

"Dad will come soon. You need to calm down. Your mom will be alright." After Nicholas ended the call. He immediately stood from his seat and excused himself from his father. "Father, my wife woke up. I have to go back to the hospital now!"

"I will go with you, Nick..." Edward Spencer follows his son out of his study room. He felt happy for his son. Finally, the woman his son liked, who had been the flower of his life, woke up from her coma. He can’t wait to witness their marriage after so many years of waiting.

While in hospital...

After calling her father, Rose dialed Evan’s number. She told him about her mother’s condition.

"Evan, my mother just woke up, but something is wrong with her. She closed her eyes again..." Rose silently cried, looking at her mother, who didn’t move.

Her legs felt so weak at the thought of her mother in her deep sleep again.

Evan ran faster to the elevator. He wanted to stand beside his wife as he could feel his wife was afraid. "Wife, I will come to you soon. Don’t overthink. Mom will be fine." He ended the call and entered the elevator.

"Uncle, my mother-in-law...." Evan was surprised to see Uncle Marcel in the elevator.

"I know! The nurse had already called me. I’m heading there now...." Marcel tries to reassure Evan that Molly’s condition is fine after looking at how panicked this young man is now.

In the VIP wardroom,

Rose’s body trembled slightly. Too worried to see her mother in a coma again.

How come mom is in a coma again? Why? Is there something wrong with her condition?

Rose wanted to ask the doctor or nurse who was still examining her mother, but she was worried about disturbing them. And delay their work. Right now, she could only patiently wait in her place while praying in her heart; She asked God not to take her mother from her.

After a few moments,

"Ms. Rose Spencer!"

Rose was surprised when she heard someone calling her name. Slowly she looked toward the voice. She was surprised to see the doctor standing a few steps before her.

"Don’t worry, Ms. Spencer. Your mother’s condition is pretty good. She fell asleep because she was still tired. All her vital signs are good, so you have nothing to worry about...."

Rose could only nod when hearing the doctor explain everything to her, but her mind and heart were still not calm because she couldn’t speak to her mother.

Later she could hear a few steps approaching the room, and she was delighted when she saw Uncle Marcel and her husband come in.
