Chapter 188: Living Like A Princess

In the afternoon, Molly and Jamie Stone said goodbye to returning to East city. Likewise, Doris also goes back to the hospital because she still has an operation scheduled in the evening. And Grandpa Arthur had to return to Collins mansion to rest. Now, in the big house, there are only Rose and Evan.

Rose did not see any maids roaming in the house. Nor did she see Sam and Gavin. Where are they? Did Evan dismiss them all?

Gosh! This man really wants them alone in this big house!?

She felt shy and walked fast to the kitchen, leaving Evan alone in the living room. Earlier she glanced at the other rooms in the house, and she immediately liked the kitchen area. She wanted to learn how to cook so that she could cook for her husband in the future.

"Where are you going, wife?"

"Kitchen. I want to look around..."

Evan stood from his seat and followed Rose towards the kitchen. In just a few steps, he already stood behind her.

"This is not the time to go into the kitchen. Let’s play upstairs...." Evan hugged his wife from behind and carried her to the second floor.

"E-Evan..." Rose tightly shut her mouth when Evan frowned, looking at her like he was scolding her with his eyes. "H-Hubby, I’m heavy. Put me down. Let me walk alone...." She pleaded. But of course, her husband ignored her request.

"You should not underestimate the strength of your husband. I’m strong enough to carry you upstairs, my dear wifey! Well, if you don’t believe me, I will show you how strong I’m later!"

Rose widens in surprise hearing his seductive words and looks at how cheeky his smile is now. She knew what he was exactly thinking. Not wanting to provoke this lion beast, she buries her head on his shoulder as she tightens her hand and grips, worried that she will fall.

In the vast living room on the second floor, Rose sat beside Evan. They cuddle on the couch, reading a book while listening to classical music from the invisible speakers installed on the ceiling.

She didn’t say any words because she still felt embarrassed by her sultry thoughts. She overthinks her husband’s will to carry her to their bed. Apparently, her husband just didn’t want to let her enter the kitchen, afraid she would be exhausted.

They spent their afternoon in that room, enjoying the sun which was about to set, the orange sky starting to appear on the horizon. She was mesmerized by the beautiful scenery that lay before her eyes.

After a while of enjoying the natural beauty out there, she glanced at the man sitting beside her. Evan still focused on reading a book about the biography of the Nobel Prize winner. He looked serious, but Rose was tired of just sitting next to him without speaking.

"Did you send all the maids out of the house?"

"I’m not...." He slowly closed the book and placed it on the coffee table as he turned his body to face her. "All the maids who work here have a special area in the back. Some rules have existed since I was a child. All maids will be invisible if the host is present. Unless there is a special event like earlier. So, next time you will never see them. Unless you summon them, then they will appear." Evan paused for a slight breath before continuing, "They will clean this place when we are not around or notice. And as a new young madam in this house, you can summon them if you need their help."

Rose was shy hearing Evan address her as a ’Young Madam,’ it sounds strange, but she liked it.

"And for our meals. No worries, they will cook for us in the other kitchen. And you can also ask them what kind of food you like. After we return from our honeymoon, I will introduce you to the housekeeper. Also to the person who will help take care of all your needs at home, a.k.a your personal maid attendance...."

Rose swallowed in surprise. She also got personal maid attendance!? Like a young lady character in a royal drama that she usually watches!? Gosh! Instantly, she felt she was being regarded like a princess by her wealthy husband.

"Why are you silent?" Evan asked when he saw his wife was silent. Her eyes looked at the horizon like she was thinking of something.

Rose glanced at him, "Hubby, about your father. I feel like he’s not what I thought he was...." She suddenly remembered about Anthony Collins. "The first time I saw him, I felt pressured. But over time, he seems more gentle and sincere to me..."

Evan was silent. He thought so too. His father’s attitude that he saw earlier shocked him. That old man suddenly changes. Much different from a few weeks ago when his father was against him marrying Rose. And since then, many possibilities appeared in his mind, guessing why his father suddenly liked Rose.

"I guess so..." Evan pulled Rose to sit on his lap. Then he wrapped his hand on her slender waist before he continued his words, "Maybe after seeing you, my father immediately likes you. Like my grandfather, he likes you the moment he sees you in the park at Vale city. That also applies to my mother. She immediately liked you the first time she met you at the hospital..."

Rose nods. But later, she smiled, looking at him, "You forgot someone...."

"Huh!? Who?"

"You!"

"Hahaha, you’re right! I was mesmerized by your beauty and kindness the moment I saw you for the first time..." Evan places his hand on her chin and makes the girl look at him. "I love you, Rose!" His voice sounded sincere, and it made Rose’s heart lightly race.

"Evan Collins, My Hubby, I’m sorry to keep you waiting for too long! If only I accepted you at the time, you would not wait so long...."

"Waiting for you is not long. Almost four years is like a gust of wind passing by. And, the results are worth it!" Evan smiles as he rubs the tip of her nose. "My Dear Wife, stop thinking about the past. Now, you become mine. No one can steal you from me, so let’s just enjoy this moment and today and the days ahead."
