Chapter 143: I Can Feel Your Pain

She paused right a few inches before her hand touched his nose.

"Stop, Rose! Don’t do it! Or you will have trouble waking up this sleeping lion...." Trying to draw back her senses, she scolded herself in her mind. It was a success, but another problem hit her.

Rose’s eyes go down to look at his seductive lips. Her fragile heart rumbles like crazy. Her hands that were hanging in the air immediately clenched tightly, trying to stop herself from kissing the man’s lips.

Evan didn’t know how often he tried to spell his mind to not touch this girl. He endured his lust. He will stick to his promise to only consume her when they are officially married.

In the middle of the night, when everyone is fast asleep...

Rose’s body curves into an arc with her chin almost touching her knees. She felt the pain shoot through her lower abdomen. Slowly she opens her eyes, but to her surprise, the room still looks dim, and Evan sleeps beside her.

She bit inside of her lips to keep her from making any sound, worried that Evan would wake up. After a few minutes of enduring the pain in silence, she felt sweat emerge from her temples. This was the worst stomach cramp Rose had ever experienced in her entire life. Until she can no longer tell the difference between stomach cramps or she has food poisoning. It’s killing her badly.

Unable to bear the pain, Rose slowly woke up. Trying to find painkillers. She remembers she had the painkiller medicine in her bag. She stumbled onto the couch when her feet met the cold marble floor.

"Why are you awake, Rose?"

Suddenly Rose stops her step when she hears Evan’s voice behind her. She looked back at the bed. Rose saw Evan get off the bed and approach her with half-opened eyes. Rose listened in silence as she buried her head into his chest. She happily smiled because his sweet words somehow gave her warmth and safety.

"Understand?"

"Hmm... understand."

"Alright, sleep now!"

Evan kissed her forehead. He stopped talking, not wanting to make her sleepless.
