Chapter 91: Misunderstanding

Chapter 91: Misunderstanding

Iris started to feel embarrassed as she slapped her forehead.

"NO!" Gavriel answered firmly. "Absolutely not. But, if you have feelings for me, I can’t stop you," he jokingly teased her, although he was almost choking from holding back his laughter by now.

Iris, "..."

She wished to have the ability to erase memories so she could erase Gavriel’s memories. ’Gosh! This is too embarrassing!’

"Iris, listen... that ring is not from this world, just like the gun I gave you," Gavriel continued his words after he hadn’t heard her say anything.

"S-Sorry, G-Gavriel... Please just forget what I said earlier..." She said weakly.

"Sure!"

Despite her initial embarrassment, Iris’ curiosity about the ring remained. "Gavriel, can you explain more about this ring?" she asked.

"The ring is an ancient magic ring. People on this Earth call it a spatial ring or space ring. The ring has the ability to store things, any things you want to put inside," Gavriel explained.

Hearing Gavriel’s explanation was enough to make Iris’s hands tremble as she held the ring. Her eyes remained fixed on the seemingly ordinary ring without blinking, filled with amazement. She knew that this type of ring only existed in the Eastern fantasy stories she often read. Now, this legendary ring was in her possession.

She felt like she was dreaming.

If only she hadn’t experienced transmigration into this young Iris’s body or met Gavriel, who possessed superhuman abilities, she would never have believed what she was hearing.

"Gavriel, so you mean... I should put my blood on this ring to activate it, right?" Iris asked, already aware of how this ring operated.

"Yes. Once you activate the ring, it will be yours alone. No one else will be able to see the ring on your finger except you," he confirmed.

Iris didn’t hesitate any longer. She slid the ring onto her index finger. After pricking her other finger with a needle she found in her drawer, she let a few drops of her blood fall onto the surface of the ring where the strange rune was.

The moment her blood touched the ring, a peculiar sensation enveloped her body, and her vision was temporarily blinded by the dazzling light emanating from her finger. When her vision cleared, she saw the ring, and her eyes widened at the sight of an empty space within. She wasn’t sure of the actual size of the space inside the ring, but she was sure it was pretty spacious to store several large weapons, magazines, and enough aid kits.

Overwhelmed by the magic ring in her hand, she momentarily forgot about Gavriel, who was still waiting for her to say something.

"Iris, looks like you didn’t have any questions, right? Alright, I’m ending the call now. Just text me if you have any questions about your pistol and the ring. Bye!"

Beep!

After the call ended, Iris focused solely on the ring, eager to test it by placing an object inside its space.

She extended her hand and touched the black box on the table. Suddenly, the box disappeared from the table, and she could now see it within her ring’s space.

"Wow! This is amazing!" She exclaimed with excitement. Now, she no longer had to worry about storing her belongings, especially her gun and other items that could arouse suspicion if her grandmother saw them. She could also take them with her wherever she goes. And can take things when she needs them, like her gun.

Overjoyed with her ring, Iris immediately placed some of her belongings inside it, including Xavier’s gun, several items of clothing, her shoes, and many of her personal possessions. These items had now been transferred from her wardrobe to her space ring.

But suddenly, Iris froze because she didn’t know how to retrieve the items.

"Geez, why didn’t I ask Gavriel earlier?" Iris muttered softly. She wanted to call Gavriel but dismissed the idea when she noticed it was getting late. She didn’t want to disturb him and feared he would be annoyed. What’s more, she felt too embarrassed to talk to him now after she had mistakenly thought that he liked her.

Iris walks toward the bed and lies on it, trying to figure out how to retrieve items from her space ring.

"Is it the same way as the book I once read?" She speaks to herself while looking at her ring curiously. "Well, let’s try!" she says with a smile.

Slowly, Iris closes her eyes and imagines the item she wants to retrieve. Suddenly, she can feel a cold gun in her hand. She laughs happily. Her efforts were successful.

"So, I just need to summon that item in my mind..."

After feeling so happy with her new magic item, Iris suddenly remembered that she had not thanked Gavriel at all for the gift he had given her.

"Gosh! You are so ungrateful, Iris!" She scolded herself while grabbing her cell phone.

Iris typed a text to Gavriel, but before she could press ’Send,’ she stopped.

"Gavriel definitely won’t be upset, right? I just sent a message..." After a few seconds passed, Iris decided to send the text.

Before long, Iris starts to yawn. She turned off her cell phone, switched off the light, and went to sleep.

The next day.

When Iris woke up, she felt stiffness and discomfort in her left arm, as if she had slept in a single position all night. She stretched her arms and then shuffled to the bathroom to begin her morning routine. Emerging from the bathroom, she was taken aback by the light filtering through the curtains.

"Did I oversleep?"

Iris walked over to open the curtains widely and allowed the daylight to flood into the room. She caught sight of the snow-covered forest behind her house, and the chill in the air reminded her of the wintry weather outside. Quickly, she changed from her nightgown into warm clothing.

As she was just about to go downstairs for breakfast, she suddenly remembered her cell phone, which she had turned off before bed.

"How could I forget? Xavier promised to call me this morning..." she muttered, reaching for her phone and powering it on. Immediately, her phone began to vibrate incessantly.
