Rebirth as The Vampire Lord's Wife
Chapter 277: Tell The Truth To Eric

Chapter 277: Tell The Truth To Eric

Iris was stunned when she heard Eric’s inner thoughts.

"Brother, how’s your life here lately?" She found an opening to start their conversation. "Did you enjoy staying here without me? Did my husband take care of you when I’m away?"

Eric’s anxiety about staying longer in this place made it hard to be dishonest with Iris. After a few seconds of silence, he finally opened his mouth.

"Xavier is very kind to me. He talks with me almost every day. But I wouldn’t say I like living in this place... I prefer to live on Emerald Island. I can do many things on the island and enjoy the beautiful view."

Iris smiled before urging him to say what was bothering him, "Are you sure? Brother, you can tell me honestly what you feel..."

Eric clenched his fists slightly before he asked her to come closer to him. He was worried if Xavier and the others heard their conversation.

"Iris, I feel like this place has a lot of spirit, I mean haunted. It’s a bit scary for me to live here; I feel like I’m hearing strange voices in my mind and—" Eric couldn’t continue his words because he suddenly felt goosebumps as if someone had just passed behind him.

He turned to look at his back but didn’t see anyone there.

’Shit!! How could this spirit come again in the daylight?’ Eric wondered while turning his gaze back to Iris. He opened his mouth, but his words halted when he saw her smile, but her eyes were looking in a specific direction.

"S-Sister, did you also see the ghost in this room?" Eric asked her in a hushed tone.

"Ghost!?" Iris chuckled, hearing Eric’s question. He looked at him in the eyes, "Well, brother Eric, that’s not a ghost, but my husband..."

Eric frowned. He turned his back again and saw no one there, but still felt someone standing near him.

"Iris, can you explain clearly? Do you mean Xavier was a ghost?? Why I can’t see him!?"

"I’m not a ghost, brother-in-law," Xavier’s voice echoed in the room as he released his invisible barrier.

’Fuck!! How did he do that!?’ Eric was shocked when he saw Xavier appear abruptly before his eyes. He was so scared, he stood up quickly and ran towards Iris.

"S-Sister, why... why your husband could appear like he was a magician?" Eric asked in confusion.

He had seen a Magician do this trick, but what Xavier did just now looked very natural; he didn’t use any tools to appear. How can he do it? Is this man really a Magician? But isn’t he a businessman? Since when can Xavier do this high-level trick!?

Eric was confused.

Iris didn’t answer his question but asked him to sit again, but Eric refused to go back to his seat because Xavier was still standing in his place near his chair. He was too afraid of him.

"Oh please, brother Eric, why are you afraid of ghosts? You are an assassin. You didn’t believe something like that." Iris can’t help but laugh, looking at Eric’s pale face. "Seat first, and I will explain to you what happened."

Eric moved after he saw Xavier sitting right beside Iris. He settles in his seat and looks at them with a thick frown on his forehead.

"W-Who are you?" Eric finally dared to ask Xavier, who sat beside Iris calmly without looking at him.

Xavier slowly lifts his head, and looking at curious Eric, a faint smile appears on his lips. "Me? Xavier Darkwood, Iris’ husband—"

"He’s not human," Iris finally chimed in, not letting Xavier tease Eric any longer. He didn’t want his brothers to be confused for long.

"Not human?" Eric is even more confused.

"Hmm, all the people you see here, including me, are not human from this world. We are from another place, brother..." Iris continued to explain to him.

She explained to him the three realms in this universe. She also explained that she comes from the middle realm. When she saw him even more confused, she started explaining her rebirth and what happened to him in the past year.

After more than an hour of talking, Iris finally finished her sentence, waiting for Eric to say something. However, after several minutes had passed, Eric didn’t say anything. He only looked at her with a confused expression.

Iris could hear what was on Eric’s mind, and hearing how wild his imagination was amused her.

"I don’t have much time to convince you, brother, because I need to talk to Silvana about something important," she needs to finish healing Eric before she moves to her next plan — to return to the middle realm.

After a moment of silence, Eric said, "Iris. Even though I try to believe what you say, it’s hard for me to believe you completely. Because what you’re saying now doesn’t make sense. It all sounds like a fantasy film or a fairy tale—"

Eric’s voice hung in the air as soon as he saw Iris raise her hand towards him. Before he realized what was happening, he saw his body floating in the air.

"Fuck! What happened to me? Why am I flying?" Eric said, panicked, as he saw his body getting further away from the floor and his head almost reaching the ceiling.

"Iris, why—" How shocked he was to see that Iris was now flying and standing right in front of him, he saw Iris in horror. "Y-You’re telling the truth?"

"Hmm, I’m not lying to you. I’m a human, yes. But I’m different from humans on this earth. I can do magic and have much power. What you see now is just a little of my strength... In the future, you will see more." Iris smiled and returned to her seat.

Eric gasped in shock when he realized he was already sitting in his chair. He opened his mouth several times to say something, but not a single word came out of his lips.

What he heard and saw now seemed unrealistic, like a dream to him.
