Chapter 226: Hated Uncle Gavriel

Chapter 226: Hated Uncle Gavriel

’Whatever... you take care of him. I’ll go back to my house!’ Gavriel vanished, surprising Justin.

Justin gasped in shock, watching someone vanish before him. He turned to see Iris with a curious gaze.

"P-pretty sister," he stammered, overly excited to see Gavriel disappear before his eyes. "W-Why did Uncle Gavriel vanish? H-How could he do that?" His curiosity sparked as he recalled seeing such a trick in a recent cartoon he watched.

Iris smiled, tousling Justin’s hair like this man was a toddler.

"Didn’t Aunty Silvana tell you we’re different from other people?" She heard from Silvana that she now tried to explain to Justin about his true identity, yet the boy seemed slow to grasp it.

"People? Which people?" Justin furrowed his brow, trying to recall who ’people’ might be.

Iris scolded herself, realizing Justin hadn’t left the house in the last four months. He only encountered those residing in their home, unaware of people beyond them.

"People who live outside our house," she patiently explained. "We call them other people."

Justin nods while saying, "Ooo... Pretty sister, Justin, understand... Sister, can I also disappear like Uncle Gavriel?"

"Of course, you can," Iris paused, noticing his eyes blink several times and the light in them beaming. She felt amused and wanted to laugh, but she held herself.

"Really!?" Justin’s smile widened as he clapped his hands happily.

"Hmm, you should ask Uncle Gavriel. He can teach you because he has mastered teleportation." Instantly, Justin’s smile faded. His facial expression dropped, looking like he’d just witnessed someone steal his beast blood at the mention of Gavriel’s name.

Iris noticed that Justin’s mood had dropped drastically. She started to wonder why this four-year-old child disliked Gavriel so much.

"Why do you dislike Gavriel so much?" Iris asked seriously. When he avoided her gaze, she persisted, "Did he ever beat you up, hurt you?" Her concern showed in her worried tone.

He shook his head. "N-No. Uncle Justin never hurt me..."

"So, why do you dislike him? Did he break your toys?" She asked again.

Justin slowly lifted his head to look at Iris, "Sister, I’m still a child, but Uncle Gavriel treats me like I’m his age. When I went to his house, he didn’t let me watch my favorite cartoon, the cat chasing the mouse," He sighed in annoyance.

Iris felt the urge to scold Justin, but she held back, knowing he would likely cry if she did. Instead, she let her frustration out in her mind, ’Shouldn’t you be past this? You’re quite old to still want to watch Tom & Jerry.’

"And, you know, sis?? Uncle Gavriel was heartless; he made me watch a movie I didn’t like..." Justin covered his face with his hand, feeling embarrassed.

Iris frowned, feeling suspicious. "What movie?"

Justin looked at Iris again, "I don’t know, Sis. But I remember seeing a man and woman sleeping without their clothes... I don’t understand what kind of movie that was?" He shook his head in frustration. "Sis, that movie was no fun at all... I’d rather watch my cartoons... where cats bully the mouse."

Iris’s face instantly turned red. ’Damn it, Gavriel!! How could you feed this pure soul with that kind of movie!?’ She couldn’t help but curse Gavriel in her mind.

Now she understood why Justin disliked going there.

"And Uncle Gavriel also didn’t let me eat his food... He said I should go home and ask Aunty Silvana if I’m hungry."

Iris, "..."

She remained silent on this one. She understood Gavriel’s reasons since Justin was not human. He was a Vampire; he couldn’t eat human food. He could only taste the beast’s blood.

Justin’s shoulder shrunk as he took another deep breath.

"Sister, so many things Uncle Gavriel did not allow me to do...Ugh...This is why I wouldn’t say I liked going to his house, sis. I didn’t like him." He looks Iris in the eyes.

"It’s ok, sis, understand," Iris said gently.

A smile slowly flashed through Justin’s beaming eyes before he continued, "I... feel secure and in love with my pretty sister... I only want to spend my day with my pretty sister. My pretty sister Iris was the best!" He opened his arms wide, asking for a warm embrace.

Iris is stunned. She stopped time and made him sit as usual.

Sigh!

She swallowed nervously, glancing around to ensure Xavier wasn’t nearby. If Xavier hears this, he might turn foolish Justin into an ice sculpture.

After a few moments, Iris turned back the time. She needed to remind Justin of his situation.

"Justin, have you forgotten what happened to you?" she asked. When she saw him staring back at her without words, she continued, "You’re not really a toddler; you’re much older than me, but something happened to you. I suppose Aunt Silvana already informed you about this, didn’t she?"

He nodded, "Mmm... She did. But, pretty sister Iris... Aunt Silvana lied to me, didn’t she?"

Iris, "..."

’Gosh, this stubborn little imp—’ Iris could only release a silent sigh. ’Forget it! This little fellow is still too young to understand.’

Slowly rising from the bench, Iris began to feel impatient dealing with Justin. She needed Gavriel to look after him today.

"Let’s go..." she said, then extended her hand to Justin.

Though Justin was confused, he still took hold of Iris’s hand. "Big sister, where are we going—" his words trail off when his surroundings blurred; a second later, they found themselves in the woods.

Justin was surprised when he saw the familiar stone house. He looked at Iris, confused.

"P-Pretty sister, did we arrive at Uncle Gavriel’s house in an instant!?"

"Hmm, let’s go!" Iris answers him and starts to walk toward Gavriel’s house.

Justin followed her closely. "Pretty sister... You also could teleport?" he curiously asked. It was the first time he had seen her teleport.

Iris glanced at him, matching his steps toward Gavriel’s house. "Why do you ask? Haven’t you seen me do that before?"

He shook his head, "No. This is the first..."

"Hmm, I can teleport. But Gavriel is more talented than me," Iris just made a random excuse, afraid Justin asked her to teach him.
