Chapter 207: Suspicious (1)

When Paul brings Eric to check his new house, Iris doesn’t follow them. Instead, she asks Justin to accompany her to the beach, only a few meters from the cabin’s front yard where Eric would reside.

Even though Justin feels suspicious of Iris, he still follows her.

"What? Why did you pull me here?" Justin asked. He was slightly worried this girl would ask about Xavier’s mortal enemy again. He can’t disclose to her about it, or Xavier might kill him for sure.

"Why do you look suspicious? Like you’re hiding something from me?" Iris stops her steps when they arrive at a white sandy beach.

She narrowed her eyes at Justin, but he turned away, looking towards the sea.

"And now you’re avoiding me!?" She can’t help but chuckle when she sees how Justin doesn’t want to talk to her.

Justin slowly returned his gaze to her, "Well, my friend, if you want to ask me about what we talked about earlier on the boat, just forget it. I won’t say any words about it. So you should throw away that thought from your mind," he grinned.

When Iris wanted to say something, she stopped when she saw Justin open his mouth.

"Don’t force me, Iris. I will not speak about it even if you entice me with something. Nope! Sorry!!" He made a gesture to seal his mouth, then crossed his arms before his chest.

Iris looked at Justin with a mixed expression, finding him funny and foolish. She chuckled in glee before saying, "Tsk, tsk, Justin, can you hear me before venting your frustration like that!? I’m not asking you about that... but later, I’ll ask Xavier directly, so you don’t have to worry..."

’Oh, crap!! I’m in trouble...’ Suddenly, Justin wants to vanish from that place. He knows Xavier will come to this island. And if Iris asks him about it, Xavier definitely will send him straight into his coffin.

Now, he couldn’t do anything. He could only pray that Iris would suffer a short memory loss and would not ask Xavier about the matter.

He cleared his throat before asking, "What do you want to ask this time?" his brows knitted while looking at her in the eyes.

Iris didn’t answer him right away but sat on the sand. After she saw Justin follow to sit beside her, she finally asked, "I want to know about my target. What did you find?"

Suddenly, Justin’s face turned dark upon hearing her question. He wanted to discuss this matter with her since she arrived in this city, but he didn’t have a chance because Iris was distracted by Eric.

"Iris, your target, this time, seems more difficult to handle..." His voice grew concerned.

Iris was surprised to hear that.

"He is so clean with his crime because he never does ’such’ a thing; his reputation is too clean. Many people in this District like him. He is running for governor in District Four and is a strong candidate to win the election."

Justin continues, "Even though he is clean on the outside, in reality, he is evil! Truly evil. He has an army, and his army is almost all Demon. They work for him to achieve his goals." His hands clenched into tight fists, remembering when he learned about this.

This Demon army matter also becomes their concern. Because, all this time, they never noticed the Demon appears in District Four, they hide so well. Just because Iris told him about her target, that leads him to the Demon army’s hiding place.

A look of surprise flashed across Iris’s eyes, hearing Justin’s report after knowing her target, not just one person but an army of Demons.

This fact was enough to make her blood run cold, but in the end, she could only smile at him and try to maintain her calmness.

After a few seconds of silence, she asked, "How many Demons are there?"

"When I went to their hiding place, I only saw about 10 Demons. But it’s probably more than that," he was sure.

Iris fell silent again. She was not afraid of them because she had already killed a few Demons before but was only concerned about the Demon who could blow himself up.

She would be fine if no Demon could blow himself up like the one she faced in Orion City. But, if all of them had hell flame, this District would be destroyed.

Now, she was puzzled. She doesn’t want many innocent people to become victims just because of one target sinner.

’Should I contact Gavriel and ask his opinion about this?’ She wonders while gazing at the emerald sea before her eyes and trying to calm her mind to think more clearly.

"When will you act?" Justin’s voice snapped her out of her own thoughts. She looked at him and informed him about her plan to act tomorrow.

She can’t delay this assignment because tomorrow is the last day to complete it, or she will fail.

While Iris and Justin were chatting about tomorrow’s plans, Iris heard footsteps from behind. When she turned to look, she saw Paul walking approaching them.

"Milady, apologize for bothering you..." Paul stopped a few meters away.

Iris immediately stood up and looked at Paul. "What’s wrong, Paul?" She asked, even though she already knew what he wanted to say.

"Milady, is there a special request for your lunch and dinner? I will prepare it..." Paul asked.

"Thank you, Paul. But no need to do that. I will cook and take care of my meals. You only need to prepare Eric’s meals."

"Yes, Milady, that’s my duty. If there is nothing else you ask for, I will take my leave."

"You can go back to your place..." Iris said after looking Paul away. She turned to Justin and excused herself. She needed to meet Eric.

When Iris arrived at Eric’s cabin, she saw him waiting on the veranda. Looking at his gloomy and worried expression forced her to hear his thoughts.

However, just a few seconds after hearing his thoughts, she almost tripped on her own feet.

’Tsk! Why are Eric’s thoughts running wild like this!?’ She was speechless.
