Rebirth as The Vampire Lord's Wife -
Chapter 173: Remember Eric!
Chapter 173: Remember Eric!
"Has your memory returned?" Xavier asked again. "Let’s go and punish him! This man should never exist on this lovely earth."
Iris took a deep breath. What frustrated her was that she only remembered the man’s name, Eric. She didn’t recall his last name, his assassin guild, or where he lived.
’God!! What’s the use of having my memory partially return if I can’t find him?’ Iris could only vent her anger inwardly. She glanced at Xavier with a half smile.
"No, my memories have not yet returned; I only remember his first name, Eric," Iris said.
She felt frustrated.
Xavier could sense her disappointment at the moment. He truly wanted to help her.
However, when he confronted Lucian, asking him about Iris’s background story, the man said he didn’t know either. He had merely accepted the assignment from higher-ups.
"This is so frustrating!" She said as she lay down on the bed again.
Xavier glanced at Iris and lay beside her. As his head touched the pillow, something crossed his mind.
He turned his body to face her. "Iris, but you do remember his face, right?"
Iris was stunned by his question and immediately nodded. "Hmm, I remember that person’s face vividly. Ugh! I need someone talented at drawing. I need them to draw Eric’s face..." She said excitedly. At least she still had a chance to find Eric.
Xavier smiled when he saw the usual sparkle return to her beautiful eyes.
"Darling, did you forget that nowadays, AI Image Generator can draw exactly as you wish?" Xavier playfully said.
"Mr. Darkwood, I know that. But AI... can’t draw precisely what I really want. They can only make suggestions unless I give them a basic drawing and ask them to perfect it. Then, I suppose AI can help with the final touches..." Iris explained what she understood about that phenomenal technology that has recently taken the world by storm.
"You have a point," he agreed.
"This is a fact, Xavier," Iris said while shaking her head. She turned her gaze to the ceiling above before continuing her words. "Xavier, do you know anyone who can draw faces well?"
"I do—"
Iris chimed in before Xavier could finish his sentence. "Xavier, please... Please Introduce me to that person. If possible, I’d like to meet them first thing tomorrow morning while my memory of that man’s face is still clear," Iris said quickly. She was afraid that the image of Eric’s face in her head would disappear.
"Tomorrow?" Xavier chuckled, looking at her with enthusiasm. "Why not now?"
"It’s already midnight, Xavier. That person is surely already in bed, sleeping, right?" She asked.
"No, he doesn’t need to sleep. Not tonight. Let’s go," Xavier said and got out of bed.
Iris was confused but didn’t say anything else. She immediately got out of bed.
"Wait, let me change my clothes first," she said. She couldn’t possibly meet someone in her pajamas.
"Darling, come," Xavier stretched out his hand to Iris. When their hands linked, she found themselves in Xavier’s home office.
Only then did Iris realize that the person Xavier was referring to who was good at drawing was himself.
"You’re also talented at drawing?" Iris asked. She knew this man was a super genius. He could be considered an expert in the modern medical field, an expert in playing the piano, and skilled at shooting. Now, he claimed he was good at drawing. It piqued her curiosity, and she wanted to see the results.
Xavier didn’t rush to answer her. He walked toward his desk and retrieved an iPad from the drawer.
After taking it, he glanced at her with a smile. "I have plenty of time to study whatever I want, and one of those things is drawing," Xavier said, inviting her to join him in the seating area.
Iris could only nod in agreement with him. She would do the same. If she became immortal like him, she’d learn whatever she desired and become an expert in any field she liked.
Before Xavier drew, he handed Iris the iPad and asked her to select the type of eyes, face shape, mouth, hairstyle, and anything else she remembered about the man. He would use these details for the drawing.
"I’m impressed. This is indeed an easier way..." She promptly made her choices based on her memories of Eric. After a while, she returned the iPad to Xavier.
She felt excited and eager to see Eric’s face through Xavier’s drawing. However, she was surprised when Xavier asked her to sleep.
"I want to stay with you, Xavier..." She protested, but Xavier didn’t give her a chance.
"I won’t start drawing if you’re awake. You need to sleep, Iris. I’ll keep you company while I work on the drawing... and you can see the result when you wake up," he said as they returned to the bedroom.
Iris nodded. She did feel sleepy now.
...
Before long, Iris finally fell asleep. Meanwhile, Xavier sat on the sofa, working on the drawing using his iPad.
It took him only a few minutes to complete it. He even created a series of sample pictures of Eric so Iris could later choose the one that best matched the man from her memories.
A faint vein appeared on Xavier’s forehead as he saw the image of Eric’s face on the iPad. A few moments later, he vanished from the room and appeared in a luxury penthouse in the middle of the city.
"Milord!?"
Killian, who had just finished his work, looked shocked as Xavier suddenly appeared inside his home office. He stood from his seat and walked to the window, stopping a few steps away from him.
"Do you have any orders for me, Milord?" Killian asked politely, his eyes filled with concern as he stared at Xavier’s broad back. It was unusual for Xavier to show up at his house; typically, he would summon him to his place.
"Yes. I need you to find this man. Alive and quickly!" Xavier said after sending Eric’s picture to Killian’s phone.
