Lucian stood before the grand gate of Darkwood Villa, his hands crossed behind him, portraying an outward calm that concealed his inner worry.

His keen eyes were fixed on the villa as though he could peer into the mansion from his current location.

A few hours ago, when he saw Xavier suddenly return to Silenthill, he immediately knew something had happened to Iris. After the problem in District Three was resolved, he rushed to this city to check what really happened to make Xavier scared.

Niles couldn’t help but chuckle at the guards’ chatter.

"Gentlemen!" Niles said. "Continue your duties, and cease looking for that man. He’s already at the villa—" Niles cut off as he disappeared from the guard room and reappeared in front of the villa.

Niles was taken aback when he didn’t see Lucian outside the house.

’Did he already enter?’

Niles was puzzled. No one else should be opening the door now except for him, as Justin wasn’t in the house. The twin guard was busy downstairs taking care of Selina. Lord Xavier could open the door, but that was unlikely; he would be here to open it for Lord Lucian.

"Yes, everywhere I venture, including that place..." Xavier offered a half-smile to Lucian before turning his gaze back to the serene lake, evading Lucian’s eyes.

"So, you intend to be forthright with her about your true self?" For some reason, Lucian sensed that Xavier’s decision was somewhat impulsive. "Have you considered the possibility that she might leave you upon learning your real identity?"

Xavier clenched his teeth, then spoke in a low but unwavering voice, "She will not! I have faith in her..."
