Chapter 113: Purple Magic Pendant

Darkwood Villa.

Xavier appeared in the detention room in the basement of his villa. The room was dimly lit, with only one light source from a yellow bulb placed on the ceiling right in the middle of the room.

At the far end of the room, a middle-aged man and woman were kneeling on the floor, their hands tied behind their backs. They were shocked when they saw a man suddenly appear in the middle of the room. Their bodies trembled at the sight.

Xavier ignored the two people on the floor. He looked sideways at Niles and Justin, standing with two other identical men with pale faces and shoulder-length black hair. These two men were Darkwood Guards who only appeared when needed; like ghosts, they could come and go without anyone noticing.

"Have you guys found anything?" Xavier asked in a low, barely audible voice, but it was enough for Justin and Niles to hear.

"Milord, we already checked their background, but you won’t believe what we found," Niles said as he walked closer to Xavier. He whispered, "They are just humans, a couple who went hiking on the lonely mountain but got lost and entered your property."

"Humans!?" Xavier was surprised to hear that. He slowly turned to look at the couple about 15 meters before him. His eyebrow arched slightly upon realizing that these two people were mere humans.

It was hard for Xavier to believe these people could enter his land because it had a magic barrier. No human could trespass on his land; even non-human creatures couldn’t enter without powerful magic.

"Yes. We have checked their identities multiple times, and their story appears true. They both told the same tale and are indeed local tourists..." Niles continued to explain.

Xavier didn’t say a word, but his eyes slowly turned crimson as he stared at them, attempting to read their minds and see their past.

However, to his shock, he couldn’t read their minds, as if a magic barrier shielded them. The magical barrier seemed strong enough to withstand his usual strength.

’This!’ Xavier was utterly shocked. He pulled back his power, not because he felt he couldn’t break it but out of fear that this might be a trap, leading him to use his true power and signal someone else about his whereabouts. He can not expose himself now, or this lovely earth will be in chaos again.

’Bloody hell! This must be a trap!’ Xavier clenched his hand into a fist, unable to stay calm. He turned to look at Niles and communicated with him telepathically. He didn’t want anyone else to overhear their conversation.

’Niles, this is a trap! Search their belongings. I suspect they’re carrying something suspicious, perhaps a powerful magical item...’ Xavier instructed.

Niles was taken aback by what he heard. He nodded before replying, ’Yes, milord.’

’Niles, don’t touch anything directly with your hands,’ Xavier warned him. Niles acknowledged the warning with a slight nod.

Upon seeing someone approaching them, the couple felt fear coursing through them. Their anxiety heightened, especially when they saw the man in black who had appeared like a ghost moments earlier.

Countless unanswered questions swirled in their minds, but the one that troubled them the most was the realization that these people were not human.

"W-What d-do y-you w-want?" the woman stammered, attempting to move back and dragging her knee away from the pale-faced man who was approaching her.

"D-Don’t touch my woman, you ASSHOLE!!" The man’s eyes blazed with anger as he screamed at Niles, who had tried to approach his wife. "Stop it!! I will kill you—"

Niles halted two steps away from the woman. He slowly turned and fixed a sharp gaze on the man who had shouted at him. With a single piercing look, the man lost his words and courage, as if someone had just pulled out his soul.

Niles stared at him briefly before speaking calmly but chillingly, enough to send shivers down the man’s spine. "I will kill you if one more word comes out of your mouth!"

The man could only nod in horror as he witnessed the young man’s eyes slowly shift from golden yellow to dark crimson hues, resembling the eyes of a devil.

’Am I in hell now? Why did I encounter someone with eyes like this?’ The man could only ponder his confusion in silence.

Once he no longer heard the man uttering a word, Niles turned his attention back to the woman before him. "I will not harm you, ma’am. Please remain still... I need to inspect something under your coat."

He swiftly swung his hand as he spoke, causing the woman’s upper garment to open, revealing her pale, smooth skin and a black bra covering her rounded chest. However, Niles was not interested in her ample bosom; his focus was on a round pendant resting on her chest.

The pendant exuded an unusual aura that had initially caught his attention. He was confident that this item was what his Lord had been searching for.

Niles immediately turned to Xavier, conveying his discovery through their mental connection. ’Milord, I have found it: a strange purple pendant. The aura emanating from this pendant feels incredibly potent and dark,’ he reported.

Before Niles could relay his findings, Xavier had already discerned the pendant’s ominous aura. ’Retrieve it, but do not make direct contact with it!’ Xavier commanded.

Niles nodded and took out a pair of black leather gloves from his coat, swiftly using them.

"Ma’am, I will take your necklace," Niles informed the woman. He pointed his hand at her neck without touching her, and instantly, the necklace around her neck shifted into Niles’ hand. He placed the pendant inside a small black box and stored it in his spatial ring.

"Necklace? What necklace?" The woman asks, her confusion growing. She had never been aware of wearing any accessories. Her shock deepened when she saw a necklace in the man’s hand. "Why do I have a necklace?" she asked again, looking at her husband for answers. "Did you put that necklace on me? When?"
