Chapter 96: New Rituals

Chapter 96: New Rituals

Sinking into the sofa, Yur wiped his head, still sweating from the ordeal. His face showed indifference, yet his heart pounded rapidly.

"That thing... it’s not something I can handle—not anytime soon." Sitting up properly, he decided to check his profile and assess his current condition.

There wasn’t any major difference, though there was one section of his profile he had yet to fully explore. The Demon option was always there, and he had never truly touched it. Deciding that it was about time he checked it out, he opened his profile.

"So, I can get servants from Zul?" he mused, discovering that it opened a shop-like menu. The interface split into a few sections.

On the right was a window showing all his current demons; on the left, a window displaying new demons available for purchase.

Zul, what’s the point of purchasing these demons? If I can purchase them, I wouldn’t need to create any for myself.

[Check the Prices!]

He nodded before tapping on one of the demons, and the price overwhelmed him.

Felig Demon

Demon Cultivation: Vashra

Bloodline: Felig Grisp

Cost: 1,000,000 Demon Points

Just for a Vashra demon? He shook his head, finding the shop a scam.

[The Demon category holds extremely powerful bloodlines which the Host will find useful later! They are meant to be used in rituals like Demon Mangling and more advanced ones!]

He nodded. That made more sense. If the demons in the shop had rare and powerful bloodlines, they could be very helpful. Next, he began to review his memories once again. He found many new entries—about a hundred more. "I’ll need to take some time to study them," he thought.

They contained real lessons, not only in battle ability but much more; knowledge that was normally rare to access was now at his fingertips.

Lifting his hand, he rubbed his chin. Despite the many points he had, they were nothing when trying to purchase truly valuable items.

As for practicing the Ritual of Withering Chains, he knew that doing it in the manor would be a bad idea; some people could die because of his lack of control.

"Maybe I should purchase a powerful Ritual while I practice the ones from the Ritual fruits?" It was taking him some time to understand the rituals. Zul, show me some options for rituals—something that could be used in battle.

[Processing...]

[Complete!]

Soon enough, the Zulmasharr shop opened up before him. Even the Afloria shop appeared, which was uncommon since it usually offered very few rituals.

"Let’s see..." He gazed at a few rituals, wanting something adaptable that could work with his Unique Skill, Ritual Embedding.

|——————————————————————|

Ritual of Profane Covenant

By sacrificing essence, a spectral demon awakens, acting as an extension of the caster! It gnaws at sanity, tormenting targets!

Ritual of False Reflection

Creates a ritual mirage using the blood of the target, serving as a perfect illusion.

Ritual of Maw’s Embrace

Summons a permanent phantom maw, which devours anything and everything until it is filled!

|——————————————————————|

These three rituals intrigued him the most. They were powerful basic rituals that could work well with his Unique Ability. He didn’t hesitate and purchased them immediately.

[Purchased: Ritual of Maw’s Embrace!]

[Purchased: Ritual of False Reflection!]

[Purchased: Ritual of Profane Covenant!]

[Demon Points Remaining: 6934]

[Human Points Remaining: 5245]

Closing his eyes, he allowed the information to enter his mind,; the details on how to use the rituals, how to integrate them with Ritual Embedding, and all the requirements and downsides. The process took only about five minutes.

"These rituals, though powerful, are actually weaker than the Ritual of Withering Chains," he murmured, rubbing his chin. Despite how grand they sounded, they were actually weaker than a single ritual fruit.

"Yur?" While deep in thought, he heard footsteps approaching down the stairs.

"Xia, you’re up?" Taking a deep breath, he rose and walked around the sofa. Standing at the top of the stairs, he saw Xia descending in a silk robe that hugged her figure tightly.

"I just woke up. I suddenly felt suffocated," she said, grabbing her throat, fear evident in her eyes.

Yur looked at her closely and noticed a few Glythari flying around her body. Walking next to her, he waved the Glythari away. On closer inspection, he saw one Glythari trying to burrow into her skin.

"It isn’t something she—or anyone—can really see. It’s likely due to that portal," he explained to himself, reaching out to pinch and remove it.

"Khuhu!" Xia suddenly began to cough, drenching his shirt as she sputtered, but Yur ignored her.

He held the Glythari in front of him and studied it. You are not one of the few I know, he said, crushing it in his palm. As he opened it, pieces of flickering light and tiny wings fell to the floor.

"Are you alright?" he quickly changed his expression and began rubbing her back, concern etched on his face.

"Yeah... I’m fine," she replied weakly. "What did you do?" She smiled in confusion.

"Nothing. I just cleared the essence clogging your throat," he said, smiling.

"Essence in my throat?" she asked in doubt.

"After what we did, you should be feeling it everywhere, right?" he teased with a playful glint in his eyes.

Her face flushed, and she gently smacked his arms. "Don’t mention that."

"Why not?" he prodded playfully.

"Because I said so," she replied, rolling her eyes though still embarrassed.

"Alright," he said, smiling. "Anyways, it’s still night; we should get some rest."

Holding her hand, he picked her up and led her back to the room. Though still shy, they had come this far together.

Entering the room, Yur placed her on the bed before lying down himself. He took off his shirt for comfort, then pulled her into his arms.

She rested her head on his chest, closing her eyes in satisfaction, though she couldn’t see his expression... couldn’t see the hint of annoyance.

Just a bit more. Once she is marked, I will lock her up for my own needs. He considered her presence a nuisance, but for the Ritual to work, he had to remain intimate with her.

Velmira sat on a chair, staring at a floor stained with blood and littered with body parts. Her eyes lingered on a man who looked at her with fear.

"You kept looking at me with such lust. You have no right," she said, waving her hand as she sliced out the man’s eyes.

"AH!" he howled in pain.

"Shush," she whispered, placing a delicate finger on her lips and knitting her eyebrows. "If you make more noise, I’ll put you through worse. Understand?"

"HM!" he clenched his teeth and groaned softly, trying to control the pain.

"Good." She then rose and walked toward him. "Now then, help me with something." Her hands landed on his head, and the boy suddenly began to spasm.

The blood in the room started to float and rush toward the boy.

All the bodies scattered around began to converge, fusing with the boy.

Despite his attempts to scream, his mouth began to merge with something else.

The process lasted only a few minutes, and then the room fell silent.

Velmira stared at the new creation. It still resembled a human, but it was eerily different.

The face had changed, the body transformed, and though its surface seemed normal, the eyes told another story.

Deep within those indifferent black eyes, she saw faces of screaming, crying men, like silhouettes trapped behind a glass wall, pounding in futile despair.

Velmira’s eyes narrowed as she gazed at the new creation, her mind racing with possibilities. "A Gralith," she murmured, a mixture of satisfaction and grim determination in her tone.

Her abilities, akin to those in the Ritual of Demon Mangling, now surpassed all expectations, forging something both powerful and horrifying.

"Now then, while I go back to him, I have a task for you," she said with a cryptic smile, her voice low and resolute.

In that moment, a low, mournful hum echoed through the room, as if the very walls warned of an impending storm.

And then, in the charged silence, Velmira’s eyes burned with dark intent—
