Chapter 95: Eyes of Lingering Glyphs
With her soft lips on his, Yur lifted his hands and began to remove her dress. Her body trembled as his hands brushed against her neck. She pulled his lips away for a moment to catch her breath, then pressed them back, using the kiss as a shield to distract herself from his hands unwrapping her.
Soon, she felt his hands gently slide her robe off her shoulders. Like a heavy weight, the clothing dropped, and she knew she was now completely bare.
Her kiss grew more intense as she tried to prevent him from glancing at her nakedness. Yur reciprocated, and his hands moved to her hips, lifting her up. Her legs wrapped around his waist as he walked toward the bath, stepping into the steaming water.
One of his hands gripped her buttocks while the other began undoing his pants, which he dropped into the water as he walked deeper in.
...
[Quest Complete!]
[Reward: 5000 Human Points & Ritual of the Mark!]
Later, Yur lay in the bath staring at the notification. His breathing was calm, while Xia leaned against his chest, her own breathing still rapid. Her eyes remained closed, her neck and body marked with bite marks, her lips slightly swollen, but a small smile played on her face.
Zul, show me how the Ritual works.

Ritual of the Mark
The process begins once the Host releases with the potential mate! The Host must interact physically with the potential to increase success and achieve faster marking!

Reading the information, Yur felt a twinge of annoyance. So it isn’t instant? It takes time? At this point, he had grown weary of the act he was beginning to despise. With a small sigh, he rose and picked up Xia.
Walking out of the bath, he stepped out of the room still bare. "Quin," he called.
"Yes, master," she replied promptly, her gaze calm despite his state.
"Get her dressed." He handed her over to Quin before donning his own clothes. Using his flames, he dried himself and settled onto a sofa.
I should study the Ritual Basics for now, he thought, pulling out a tattered book written in a language only he could understand. Turning to the first page, he found a single rune:
⨀
’Ah’. The first letter of Kha’Zaruun, known as the First Flame!
He read the description and discovered that, much like the human language, there were a set number of letters, each with a specific meaning and invocation.
As he slowly read through the pages, the sky darkened, and little flashes of light danced around him; tiny fireflies in various colors and shapes. Some were a dull orange, smaller than his finger; others, bright green, with delicate wings that flitted rapidly.
[Congratulations! You have acquired the Eyes of Lingering Glyphs!]

Eyes of Lingering Glyphs
As one who comprehends the language of Kha’Zaruun, you acquire a special set of eyes that allow you to see the Glythari!
Glythari represent the living firefly runes of Kha’Zaruun. They drift about the world, embodying unknown languages. Only one with the Eyes of Lingering Glyphs can see and interact with them!

Putting the book down, Yur looked around and saw the Glythari hovering, playing with him, trying to draw nearer. Lifting his hand, he felt the warmth of some and the chilling cold of others, each sensation unique.
"Interesting," he murmured, realizing these Glythari were not only his path to understanding the deeper meanings behind Kha’Zaruun but also the key to creating new Rituals.
He rose from the sofa. His once-black eyes now seemed like dark voids leading to an unknown depth. Placing the book back into storage, he noticed only a few Glythari circled him while most kept their distance.
I only absorbed about three of the letters, he noted; perhaps that is why.
Wandering around the once-illuminated room, he saw that the area was slowly changing, suddenly, a hole appeared in the middle of the large living room. Unlike the portals that led into Zulmasharr or out to Afloria, this one was different.
It was eerily dark, the other side a void of true darkness, where Glythari might roam as the only beacons of light.
[Host is entering Glythoria: The Realm Written in Silence!]
Fascinated by this other side, he paused, about to step through, when suddenly the Glythari around him began to flare. Their lights grew brighter and more chaotic.
"What’s happening?!" he wondered aloud.
Yur watched as the Glythari clung to him, almost as if trying to pull him away from the portal. Their movements were frantic, their flickering lights betraying a growing panic.
Then, from the endless darkness beyond the portal, he noticed something move, a presence in the endless sky that could swallow a person with a single, piercing stare.
"What is that?" he whispered, leaning forward to scrutinize the shape.
AH AH AH
BR BRRRR
Khhhh
The few Glythari clinging to him seemed to panic, their lights flickering even more violently.
[Host is in danger!]
[Unknown enemy!]
[Unknown enemy!]
[...]
Suddenly, warnings blared from Zul. Yur quickly stepped back; with a thought, the portal to Glythoria shut. Only then did the warnings cease, and the Glythari calmed, resuming their gentle hover around him.
"What was that?" Yur muttered, lifting his hand to wipe his head, noticing it was wet.
He pressed his hand to his rapidly beating heart.
Fear.
This emotion had only ever been evoked by one being—Demon Lord Krinli?
————————————————————————
"Interesting." In a place far from Afloria and Zulmasharr—within what seemed like a black hole at the centre of a vast galaxy—there floated a singular mansion. It was suspended in a realm that rejected all light, where light could only bend and vanish.
The mansion, built of black stone capable of withstanding the void’s onslaught, housed eerie halls and guarded rooms leading to a single, enormous throne made of a crystal-like material that shone with a blinding radiance.
Seated upon this crystalline throne was a being, akin to a human yet unmistakably different. He bore three large horns and a remarkably handsome, humanoid face.
"So, another has entered Glythoria?" His smile was both amused and calculating as his eyes, which could see beyond mere flesh, settled on a human, one he recognized as the successor of Mal. "Interesting. Let’s see how well he grows."
With that, the purple flames in the throne room flickered and then vanished, plunging the chamber into utter darkness.
For a moment, silence reigned, a silence so deep it seemed to absorb every stray whisper of light.
Then, as if awakened by an unseen command, a low, resonant hum began to echo through the void.
