Chapter 34: It’s Me... Your Bitchy Nemesis!
"Tch! This bitch is certainly crazy!" Another member growled.
Then the men began to charge towards her.
"I wouldn’t do that if I were you guys," Raven said, halting the men in their tracks. "I came to see you, Donovan. You haven’t spoken yet."
Donovan regarded Raven, his eyes glinting murderously. Throughout his life, he had always been feared, by both men and women. But a woman is here, sitting as though she owned the place, insulting him to his face.
"I want to tell you to stop searching for me." Raven continued, "It’ll do you no good."
"And why will we do that?" Donovan spoke for the first time, his voice giving away his irritation. "You’re in no place to tell us what to do, considering the state you’re in. We can do crazy things to you before handing over your remains to Larry."
"Reeaalllly?" Her condescending, sarcastic voice angered the men the most, "How many men are you?" She asked rhetorically, "I’d say about thirty-five, quite a small number. If you think the thirty-five of you could defeat me, then you’ve got another thinking coming."
One of the men charged towards Raven. She didn’t budge... nor move; she was perfectly relaxed as if someone wasn’t even charging at her.
She waited till the guy was close, then she swiftly lifted her legs, her pointy heels grazing the man’s face.
Blood began to spill out.
"What the fuck?!"
The man screamed, clutching his face, "What have you done you bitch!"
The whole gang watched the scene before them in shock.
Did a lady just do that? By sitting on a chair without moving?
"Like I said, I came to see Donovan, not fight," Raven said calmly, paying no attention to the man who was screaming. "But if you want to fight, then I’m all for it."
"Boys? Get that bitch." Donovan commanded, in utter fury.
Then the men charged.
Raven stood up and smashed the chair against one of the guys, sending him crashing into two others. Without wasting a second, she leaped into the air, twisting her body mid-flight. Her boot connected with a man’s jaw, snapping his head back as he crumpled. She landed smoothly, pivoted, and drove her fist into another’s gut, forcing the air from his lungs.
More men lunged at her, but she grabbed one by the collar and spun him around, using his body as a shield. The others hesitated for a split second, just long enough for her to shove the man forward, knocking three of them off balance. She launched herself off his back, flipping over the heads of two men and landing behind them. Before they could react, she delivered a brutal kick to one’s knee, sending him to the ground with a scream. Her elbow crashed into the other’s temple, and he dropped like a stone.
The remaining men swarmed her, but Raven was a storm in motion. She ducked beneath a wild swing, caught the attacker’s wrist, and twisted it violently. The crack of breaking bone filled the air as the man screamed. She shoved him aside and used his falling body as a stepping stone, vaulting into the air again. Her knee smashed into another man’s face mid-air, and she spun, lashing out with a powerful roundhouse kick that sent two more flying.
A punch came for her ribs, but she twisted, letting the blow glance off as she seized the attacker’s arm. With a sharp pull, she dragged him forward and slammed his face into her rising knee. Another man tried to grab her from behind, but she ducked, grabbed his wrist, and flipped him over her shoulder, slamming him hard onto the ground.
By now, the floor was littered with groaning bodies, but the fight wasn’t over. More men charged, enraged. Raven smiled. This was just getting started.
She rushed forward, feinting left before spinning right, dodging a knife swipe. Her foot connected with the wielder’s wrist, sending the blade flying. Before he could react, she followed up with a back fist to his nose, blood spraying as he collapsed. Another man tried to bear-hug her, but she drove her head backward, cracking against his skull. He stumbled, dazed, and she flipped him over her hip, slamming him down.
Kicks, punches, elbows—she was everywhere at once, a blur of destruction. Every time a man got close, she used another as a shield, deflecting their attacks. She spun, flipped, and struck with ruthless precision. One by one, they fell.
By the time the last man hit the ground, groaning in pain, Raven stood in the center of the wreckage, barely breathing hard. She rolled her shoulders, cracked her knuckles, and smirked.
"That all you got?"
Donovan backed away in fear and astonishment.
How did this lady defeat all these men?
"Like I said, I see no men," Raven said satisfyingly, enjoying the fear in Donovan’s face. "I see sissies. Now, are you willing to talk?"
Donovan quickly nodded.
"Good boy." Raven said, grinning intimidatingly at him, "Now call him."
"Okay." Donovan fished for his phone with a trembling hand.
He dialed Larry’s number.
"Put it on loudspeaker." She commanded.
Donovan quickly put it on loudspeaker.
They listened to the dialing tone as Larry’s phone rang.
"He’s not picking up," Donovan said in a shaky voice.
"Try again."
Donovan tried again. This time, Larry picked up.
"What the fuck do you want?" Larry’s exasperated voice came on the line.
"M... Mr Hopkins! I... it’s me... Donovan."
"Have you captured her yet?" Larry’s excited voice came.
"Actually..."
Raven spread out her hands, motioning Donovan to hand over the phone.
He quickly gave the phone to her.
"Hello, Larry. Done mourning your pathetic little sister?"
Larry’s breath hitched. There was a pause, all Raven and Donovan could hear was his controlled breathing.
She could tell that he was trying to suppress his anger.
"Baby, who is it?" Millie’s voice came through the line.
"You!" He finally said.
"Yes, sweetheart. It’s me." Raven answered, "Your bitchy nemesis!"
