Psychic Overlord
Chapter 155: Tousou (The Battle) 19

Chapter 155: Tousou (The Battle) 19

The answer to that seemed to crash down from the heavens as Kaizer raised both hands.

VWOOMMMM!

The giant orb pulsed violently, its edges spinning faster, pulling in psychic energy like a star collapsing inward. Inside the core were streaks of blue lightning, veins of gold-threaded telekinetic mass, and bursts of flame as well as frost colliding in perpetual fusion.

It had no fixed element, mostly because it wasn’t even an element.

It was everything Kaizer had ever become, compressed into one singular expression of self.

And now... he threw it!

"This is my declaration to the world! That I, Kaizer Lunin, will become the strongest!"

He roared these words into the sky like a final declaration.

The psychic mass descended like a dying sun. Almost like a second moon falling not from orbit, but from his very soul.

And Rina, still grounded in the center of the arena, opened her arms as if welcoming it.

Death energy howled upward to meet the attack, black tendrils coiling like a tidal storm, stretching outward and upward into a barrier of pure nullification.

FSSHHHHHHH!!!

The moment they met, the world broke as time stopped for a split second, causing the expressions of everyone in the crowd to freeze where it had been at that very moment.

In this moment of stopped time, the world seemed to focus on two beings, the ones in the center of the arena who were staking their claims on the world itself!

Then...

BOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The arena’s shield explosively shattered into fractal patterns, emergency protocols deploying just in time as arcs of unholy light erupted into the sky from the point of collision.

Kaizer’s attack pressed downward, layer by layer, a literal rolling sphere of oblivion. The orb of compressed energy screamed with fury, spinning and cracking the air as the psychic tremors echoed for miles beyond Alpha City.

And Rina... was actually still standing.

Her death energy bloomed in concentric rings, each one like the peeling of a onion, with layer after layer of pure conceptual killing.

Kaizer’s energy orb struggled to descend and in response to this, he clenched his fists and poured in more.

The sky above rippled as Kaizer’s spacetime mastery took hold. He first accelerated time for himself to input power faster, then he bent the space around the orb to shorten its drop and finally, he overlapped dimensions using the void, hoping to sneak part of the attack inside her barrier.

He was not letting go of any chance, utilizing his full power just as Rina requested, using a combination of means that could likely flatten an entire continent, if not a city.

His entire psychic ocean was now flowing upward into the orb, veins across his face bulging, hair waving wildly like a storm god with wrath in his blood.

Even the commentators had fallen silent, their microphones buzzing with static.

In the Supreme Force box, Ethan Voss’s voice was low.

"...That attack is fueled by every psychic concept he’s mastered. That’s not an esper technique anymore, that’s... a domain-killing concept."

In the Heir Pavilion, Rafael whispered, "If she falters even once..."

"She won’t. She hasn’t even begun." Ryu said coldly, eyes narrowed.

On the field, Rina’s grin faded... but only slightly.

Her arms lifted slowly and her death aura twisted, dark tendrils folding inward like petals around a flower, locking into place.

And then... she pushed outward.

HHWWUUMM!!

The massive psychic sphere stopped in place like it as a baseball ball caught by the catcher.

Kaizer’s eyes widened. "What...?!"

The sphere began to shift upward... it was literally being pushed back!

The audience screamed in response to this impossibility!

"SHE’S SENDING IT BACK!"

Kaizer roared and dumped more energy, pulling from his Telesthesia, his Channeling path, even siphoning the background spiritual currents of the arena itself.

Rina’s face became serious now.

"Come on Kaizer, I know you’re stronger than this." She said calmly.

She reached into her soul and whispered: "Kill the world."

Her death energy surged past her, now not just forming a wall, but creating an upward spiral of absolute erasure.

The bottom half of Kaizer’s sphere was directly devoured.

Crack!

Kaizer coughed blood, his eyes wide with shock and fury.

Crack!!

The upper part of the orb began to shrink, unable to maintain form under the tide of death.

Kaizer’s eyes were bloodshot, hands trembling, his arms almost dislocated from the psychic feedback.

He was losing.

He had gone all in... and she was still climbing.

"I’m not your enemy, Kaizer. But I will crush your flaws until you become the best version of yourself, the one you’ve always wanted to see." Rina said softly from below.

The orb was now halfway in reverse and Kaizer’s hands dropped an inch, then another.

He couldn’t breathe, his teeth were gritted so hard it felt like they would crack and he couldn’t feel his legs.

And still... he kept pushing.

"RINA!!" He screamed.

Kaizer roared to the sky and then looked downward, a hint of craziness in his eyes.

"I will defeat you! By any means necessary!" he shouted, his eyes glowing blue as he glanced at the crowd.

Immediately, psychic tendrils exploded outwards from Kaizer, reaching out to everyone in the crowd and forcefully plunging into their mindscapes. Kaizer had been outed as a telepath, but these people did not have the slight e clue as to the terror of his telepathic powers compared to the rest.

Breaching their minds, Kaizer forcefully drained about 50% of their own natural psychic energy. The average person had about a lake;s worth, nothing compared to his ocean but the number of people here contributed a huge wealth of energy that even he struggled to control.

Many people became pale and some with weaker minds even fainted directly. Kaizer spared no one, even pulling from the Supreme Force, the heirs, the instructors, the students and even his own people!

This act of tyranny and display of power shocked people, the the buried fear towards Kaizer rose again.

Rina, though, was thoroughly excited as he clapped. "Yes, that’s right! Since when does the Overlord have to ask those beneath him for permission? If you need power, just take it, who dares to stop you?!"

Kaizer roared, a bellow that tore through the air like a war cry as the stolen psychic energy—billions of motes harvested from the crowd—surged into him like a tidal flood.

His body shook violently, arcs of pure force exploding from his pores, the very air around him splitting into raw fractures of space.

The orb—his great psionic convergence—expanded again, stabilizing and roaring back to life.

Its color shifted from blue-white to blue-gold-black, a chaotic swirl of the six paths, now infused with the collective minds of everyone watching.

It was no longer his declaration alone.

It was the psychic scream of all humanity, channeled through a single vessel who refused to lose.

And then, he threw it again, the orb rippling downward like divine punishment.

"It’s over!"

Rina grinned wide, but for the first time, her footing slid due to an insidious ploy by Kaizer.

The moment the orb connected with her barrier of death energy again...

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The arena’s floor vanished due to sheer energy annihilation.

The black death spiral met the golden psychic singularity head-on and neither yielded as the clash ignited the sky.

Above Alpha City, a column of spiraling black and blue energy rose like a tower, splitting clouds for miles and creating a rift in the very laws of the world.

Below it, the two forces ground against each other, shrieking like beasts.

Rina held it!

Her hands were up, locked in place, her mouth open in a roar of effort, her aura pushing back harder than ever before. Rings of death energy layered around her, fractal shields collapsing and reforming instantly.

But...

The orb wasn’t fading this time.

Kaizer descended behind it slowly, levitating like a war god with his hands stretched forward, eyes hollow and glowing. His psychic domain encompassed the entire battlefield now, a dome of total suppression.

Rina clenched her jaw, sweat beading down her face, and for the first time...

She began to falter.

"Damn you... Kaizer..." She growled, arms trembling.

The crowd couldn’t move, nor could they speak.

Tae Ishi was sobbing silently in the commentary box, her head aching crazily while Ferron Blaze was frozen, gripping the edge of the table as tears slipped from his eyes without him realizing.

In the instructor booth, Carlisle whispered while rubbing his temples: "He’s... actually overpowering her."

Dean Rochester closed his eyes, voice low and reverent: "He’s no longer asking to win... he’s commanding it."

In the Supreme Force box, Ethan Voss’s lips parted. "...That boy just rewrote the narrative of strength."

The Heir Pavilion was in chaos.

Davion fell on his ass and crawled backward in fear while Rafael clutched his heart, blood leaking down the side of his lips.

Alexei Vólkov was gripping the frame of the booth, muttering prayers in three languages.

Yet only Ryu remained still.

"...The Overlord lives." He whispered.

Back on the battlefield Rina screamed and threw up her last hand, pouring everything she had into one final shield.

She stepped forward and channeled energy from Anir, something she hadn’t planned on doing.

"DIE!!!" she shrieked.

But the orb didn’t die. Instead, it grew brighter.

It devoured her death energy and twisted it inward, feeding on her power, pulling it in, converting entropy into momentum.

And then... It broke through.

The orb passed Rina’s hands, crushing the barrier like glass as her eyes widened in shock and horror.

The last thing she saw before being consumed by the light was Kaizer’s face.

He wasn’t smiling nor was he angry.

At some point, his expression had shifted to one of gentle gratitude.

Then...

FSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

A transcendent flash engulfed the world.

Blue. White. Black.

Then profound silence.

The arena was obliterated since the shielding failed completely. A surge of light devoured the sky and even the satellites watching from orbit were temporarily blinded.

After that was... Nothing.

The world held its breath.

The commentators were gone.

The stadium was covered in smoke.

Every screen went blank.

Only the still image of two names remained on the floating board:

KAIZER LUNIN – THE OVERLORD

RINA LUNIN – THE DEATH GODDESS

Beneath them:
