Chapter 75: Two Stories— 1
Third POV—
"How are the preparations going? Is everything ready?" asked Aerila.
"Yes, Your Majesty. The whole palace has been cleaned. I will hasten the process and decorate the entire palace within today."
Aerila didn’t say anything and continued working on the papers that were lying on the table.
"Do you have to say something?"
Celle replied, "I have, Your Majesty. The human scum... I mean, the new maid is getting cranky."
"Are you saying that she is getting cranky?" Aerila finally lifted her hands from her paperwork and looked at Celle. Her eyes shone with interest.
Celle replied, "Yes, she is getting irritated with every passing second. I guess, it is due to the environmental conditions of this area. Why did you choose this area as our base? You even made a palace here."
Aerila knew no one would ever suspect that they had turned the area occupied by them into a base. At best they would suspect that their emperor was in the Demon Kingdom, not here. It was a well-thought plan but it wasn’t her plan. It was Kelshin’s. He also planned that they would turn the area unsuitable for humans so that only demons could live here. Demons were not susceptible to the harsh climatic conditions. Poisonous air was ineffective in harming them. It was a well-detailed plan, which he executed very effectively with the help of her. When he first approached her, she tried to kill him but she failed. He defeated her easily, like she was a nobody. Just as she thought... he would kill her, he didn’t. Instead, he offered her a deal.
It was a very tempting deal. Aerila’s instincts screamed that she shouldn’t trust Kelshin. At first, she wanted to reject his proposal, but her desire for revenge outweighed her rationality. She accepted his deal in order to get her revenge, an attempt to fill the void in her beating heart, which was left by her dead parents.
Aerila wiped a tear from the corner of her left eye. Clearing her throat, she said, "It’s a perfect place. Sharon Charatshore will cry in agony just being here. The air itself is poisonous, unsuitable for humans," she smirked, "but she is not just a... human."
Celle nodded, "I thought it was my imagination," she lowered her eyes in contemplation, "she really is."
Aerila knew that Sharon was not a human. Demons had a very keen nature, which had helped them sustain their life. They had very heightened senses than humans. Their existence dated way before humans came into existence. Sharon’s aura screamed that she had elven blood in her veins. And it wasn’t weak in nature. Her elven nature was waiting... when it finally got to unleash itself, showing its majestic and boundless power to the world.
Aerila snorted, "Elves and we had a very rich history, didn’t we? Mortal enemies. In our favour, she doesn’t know anything about her elven nature. Or maybe, she knows but not much."
"They feared us, much like humans. What do you plan to do with her?" asked Celle.
"I am not sure what should I do with her," Aerila recalled Sharon’s attitude from earlier and sneered, "I want to break her spirit. I want to tear off that bratty attitude from her face. How the hell did she even believe that I would sign a peace treaty with her? Or even accept any proposal?" She literally growled out the last sentence.
Celle raised her eyes with a sharp look in them. She said, "I have an idea."
"What idea?" Aerila looked genuinely interested in Celle’s idea.
Celle took a deep breath. She was genuinely ashamed of her idea. It was so despicable that... she wanted to slap herself. How could she even think of that?
"Celle, I am waiting. Tell me your idea." Aerila was getting impatient at Celle’s silence.
"I-I... w-why don’t you take her dignity?" said Celle, with an ashamed tone. Aerila glared at her with anger-filled eyes, which made Celle shudder in fear.
"Are you listening to yourself? Do you even know what you saying?" Aerila growled out.
Celle immediately fell down to her knees and banged her head on the ground. "I am sorry, Your Majesty. It was completely out of the line." Her tone was full of pleading.
Aerila yelled, "Then why did you even suggest that?" Celle didn’t dare to raise her head up, "ANSWER ME!!"
"I-I... it was because y-you said we c-can’t kill her. So, it was the m-most e-effective way to... break her," Celle shuttered out.
Aerila frowned upon hearing that. She was not a barbarian who would do that. Never in her life she had thought someone would suggest that idea to her. Yet, the person who would suffer is her enemy... someone whose kin had killed her own kin. Then, why she was not disgusted to hear that? Why did that thought even knocked her brain’s doors long before Celle said?

"I am very surprised that all of you asked to eat first before we take our discussion to the main topic. I believe you are satisfied now, aren’t you?" asked Kelshin.
Everyone nodded in shame. He shouldn’t blame them for that. They were really hungry, and the variety of food items on the table was like a sinful seductress who was trying to catch them in her charm... and they indulged.
"Ok. Tell me, was it better than the palace? Were my chiefs better than the imperial ones?" Kelshin asked again, but this time he wanted to know about his chiefs’ quality. Were they better than the Sharon’s chiefs?
Duke Glimpiseie immediately nodded, "Yes, Your Grace. It’s absolute that your chiefs are more superior, crafty and artistic than the imperial ones. Every bite was a pleasure to our mouth. The meat was juicy and the bread was tender. When I took a bite, I felt them melting in my mouth. But above that it’s Your Grace, who is kind enough to polish their talent. If not him, then who would. I don’t think the palace deserves this kind of food. Please, Your Grace. I beg you, please give us once again this opportunity to eat this splendid food."
One after one, other men also voiced their thoughts to Kelshin. All of them were praising not only the food but also, Kelshin.
Kelshin’s smiled proudly. Of course, it was him who gave those chiefs an opportunity to make food for him. Without his support, they were meaningless and had no vision.
"Well, that’s enough. I am glad that you liked the food... but it’s time for the main topic. Are you ready."
Marquis Waetoul replied, "We are! Your Grace, we have been waiting for this very moment."
Kelshin snapped his fingers and the wall behind him started to fade way. The process was slow that it took almost a minute to fade completely. During the entire process, everyone thought that they would see something interesting... something that would blow their minds apart. But when it finally faded completely, there was nothing. An empty room graced their eyes.
Everyone was confused. They looked at Kelshin and Uriel, who were nonchalantly looking at their reaction.
"Is this trick question?" asked Duke Glimpiseie.
"Your Grace, I am afraid there is nothing," asked Marquis Waetoul.
Kelshin clapped his hands in approval. "Yes, I know. There is nothing behind me but I am waiting to have something behind me. You ask, why? What do I want? It’s very simple. Let me, tell you a story... aah, two stories. Will you listen?" all of them nodded their heads, "I am glad that you want to hear. Mind you, I am a very talented storyteller."
Kelshin sat on the ground and signalled them to sit as well. Not wanting to offend him, everyone quickly sat on the ground, even if it repulsed them.
"First story. Are you ready? Yes, you all are. There was once a student. A very prodigious student... he was the only heir of a dukedom. His parents were no longer in this accursed world. All alone, waiting for someone. Who you ask? A lover, maybe? The answer is no. So, what did he want? Revenge. He wanted revenge. Why? I can’t say that. One day, a teenage girl appears in front of him. She promised him she would help in his revenge if, he promised to fulfil her wish. What was her wish? Her wish was to raise her status so, so, so high that nobody could touch her. The boy, filled with hope once again, promised her. He will unify the whole world and put it on her feet, if she helps him. Some may think the boy liked her... and I will say no. He never liked her. Why you ask? Hahaha... you all like the word, ’why,’ don’t you? Asking so many times... I will indulge you, like you all indulged yourself in the pleasure of ’fucking’ your taste buds," his tone turned grim, "h-he... liked someone once."
