Chapter 39: Cheetahs Are the Fastest Creatures in the Entire World
Sharon’s POV—
The man replied, "Subordinates? More like servants. They were people born to sacrifice themselves for powerful people like me."
I don’t believe this guy to be the assistant. He must be the count. I asked, "Are you the ’count’ that I am hearing so much about?"
The man laughed and nodded his head. It looks like my words were funny to him. After laughing for almost a minute, he replied, "You are a peculiar one, aren’t you? It’s indeed true. I am the count, Heriedieck Yasdrb."
His brown pupils were looking at me with a lusty gaze. I cringed in disgust. In the novel, there was little to no description about him. This guy was just a cannon fodder, who just appeared for some Chapters. His role was to be the subordinate or better, servant of the protagonist. But right now, he is the perpetrator of the upcoming blasts. In a way, Kelshin was kind of his saviour. Anyone who came under the protagonist’s umbrella gained an immunity against both his and their enemies.
"Where is B? I mean, the man that came with me. Where is he?" I asked him.
"You mean, my assistant?"
Out of somewhere, B entered my sight. He walked and stood beside the count. "You are not a mere commander, are you? You know about the count’s practices and not just that, you also know about the assistant’s practices as well. So, tell me... who are you?"
B’s body started to melt. Not only his body but also, his clothes. The sounds of breaking of bones along with shifting of joints was heard. His entire body structure was changing.
As the final bone went into its place, a man with dark green hair and black eyes, stood in front of me.
"I believe you know who he is. Judging by your face, I believe you must have realized by now," said Heriedieck.
"He is your fucking assistant, isn’t he?" I turned towards B, "I am surprised. Although, I must say... you have utilized your brain well. With your ability, you have created an alternate identity and involved yourself in the groundwork."
"You sound as if you are impressed with me," asked B.
Rubbing my nose, I replied, "No... I am not impressed. I am just wondering... how much fucked up a person can be? And here you are, I mean, both of you. You two are the living incarnate of human-shit."
Hearing my words, the count got angry. Heriedieck was a short-tempered person. Even in the novel, he got angry very quickly. He yelled, "How dare you! You called me a human-shit," he turned towards the assistant, "I order you to kill her... albeit, a bit painfully. No, I want you to torture her. Make her beg for death!"
"As you wish, my lord," replied B, bowing.
"Heriedieck, are you sure he could beg me for death?" I mocked him.
"DON’T SAY MY NAME! YOU BITCH! I WILL KILL YOU MYSELF!!"
I ignored him and continued, "I killed all of your sub... servants. Isn’t that the term you use? I killed them very easily. Tell me, what stops me to kill this guy as well?"
This time, the assistant, B answered on behalf of Heriedieck. "You are very confident in your skills. You think... I can’t kill you. Let me prove you wrong then."
His body structure started to change again. He is using his ability. But what would he able to do with it unless... he could morph into some other species. I frowned in contemplation.
A cheetah was standing there in all his glory in place of B. It’s true. He can transform into animals. I conjured a long sword and prepared myself for its attack. The cheetah or, B narrowed his eyes at me and ran towards me.
Being a cheetah, his speed was much more than that of an animal or an average man. What I am facing is, the fastest creature on the entire earth. I tried to slash him with the sword, only for him to break it into pieces with his jaws. He slowly turned towards me and spitted out the blade pieces, which were in his jaws.
He roared and dashed towards me again. He jumped and tried to swipe my face with his claws. I barely dodged it in the last second and launched a water dragon at him. With his superior speed, he dodged it as if it was a piece of cake thrown at him.
Landing on his feet, he raised one of his paws and released his sharp claws. He looked at me with a condensing look, which said, ’I am waiting for you to attack.’ His claws were shining as if they waiting to strike someone to death with a single blow.
I conjured a big fire ball and threw it at him. He dodged it again. This made one thing very-very clear. Magic won’t work on him. His speed is too much for me to land a decisive blow.
If I use both magic and abilities in a unified manner, he won’t be able to dodge it. I created a lightning sword and ran towards him. I tried to slash him with it. He dodged it but the lightning surrounding the sword hit me, causing him to stagger a bit. Although, he still balanced himself. There was no wound in the spot where he got hit by lightning. But I got the opening that I desperately needed. I repeated the action once again though, this time he dodged both the attacks. Hah! Got it! I used earth magic and created vines to catch his limbs. The vines wrapped around his limbs, rendering his jump, which caused him to fall face-first on the ground. If this wasn’t a serious situation, I would have laughed at the scene. It was very comical.
I raised the sword to my eye level, and prepared for the final attack. I slowly walked towards him. Standing near him, I raised my sword higher and prepared to land a strike.
