Chapter 75: Creating A New Time Array!!!

"Indeed, I brought a customer for you," the guide said. "He said he wants to purchase array scriptures, preferably with annotations."

At that, the old madman nodded. He wiped the dried blood from his robes and shuffled into his rundown shop to retrieve the items. A moment later, he returned, holding a few sheets of scribbled parchment in his hand.

The pages were covered in what appeared to be random writings. Interspersed among them were lines that, at first glance, made little sense.

However, Kranos instantly recognized the intricate markings as the array runes he came to purchase. A faint smile surfaced on his lips. His trip hadn’t been in vain.

How much for all of these, old man?" Kranos refrained from calling him a madman even though he was thought to be such.

The old man stared at Kranos for a long moment before raising his fingers and performing an odd set of calculations in the air. Once finished, he raised one finger.

"One low-grade mana stone?" Kranos asked in surprise, he didn’t think the array scriptures would be so cheap.

But the old man shook his head. "One hundred thousand low-grade mana stones."

Kranos was stunned. He hadn’t expected such a ridiculous price. He turned to the guide for clarification, but the man simply shook his head helplessly.

It was well-known that the old man never bargained. If anyone refused to pay the price he calculated with his fingers, he’d throw them out immediately. This was similarly another trait of his madness.

After struggling internally for a while, Kranos finally clenched his jaw and agreed. He handed over the mana stones and left with the guide.

...

At the entrance, he saw Javil waiting with a satisfied look on his face. Kranos shook his head inwardly. It was clear that Javil had been conned, but he chose not to say anything.

"Fourth Brother, have you bought everything you need?" Javil asked as Kranos approached.

"Yes, I have. What about you?" Kranos responded, already guessing the answer.

"I got an Immortal Descent Fist Technique," Javil said proudly.

Hearing the overly grand name, Kranos couldn’t help the faint twitch at the corner of his mouth. "Let’s head back to the academy," he suggested, and the two of them quickly exited the secret realm.

Once they returned, Kranos let out a quiet sigh of relief. Everything had gone smoothly. He thanked his cousin and was about to leave when Javil asked, "Have you decided on the mission you want to take for the trial?"

"Not yet," Kranos replied with a faint smile. "What kinds of missions are there to choose from?"

"It depends on your preference," Javil explained. "There are combat missions, teaching assignments, eradication tasks, and more. It’s really up to you."

Kranos considered it for a moment. In his case, it would be better to take a relatively simple mission with the others and return safely. Being in a group might also prevent his brother Carlos from interfering too much.

"I’ll think about it before deciding. I plan to enter seclusion for the next month to increase my strength before the trial," Kranos lied smoothly.

Javil nodded in understanding. He also intended to cultivate and practice the Immortal Technique he had just acquired.

...

After they parted ways, with a few space jumps Kranos appeared in his courtyard. After calming his state of mind he began comprehending and deciphering the ancient languages of array.

However the array runes seemed extremely complicated, fortunate he had already gained some insights to some similar runes which he quickly grasped. Using this knowledge Kranos was faintly able to understand the array runes.

Within a week, Kranos had fully understood the array. He began carving the words for his own array core. At first, the process was painstakingly difficult—each symbol had to be written in a single stroke, without deviation.

However after countless trials and errors, he finally succeeded. The next step was constructing the mana circuits, which posed little difficulty—he already understood the layout for Rank One arrays. Soon, the array was complete and sealed.

It was just a basic Rank One loop array that he was crafting. With that done, he moved on to applying his time array concepts to it. Kranos held his breath and activated it carefully.

Fortunately nothing went wrong. The array rune lit up with a pale blue light, however there were no changes to the rune, Kranos frowned. He had applied the concept of ’loop’ on the array core, it shouldn’t just appear as an ordinary paper.

To test it, Kranos pulled out the Azure Sky Sword and slashed at the parchment. The paper shattered—but almost instantly, the fragments reassembled themselves and restored the array.

Kranos was stunned, then overjoyed. It worked! He launched several more slashes to test its limits. After a few minutes, he had a good understanding of the array, just as it crumbled to dust.

The array could consistently rewind time by three seconds. That alone was impressive. If he engraved this loop into an offensive array, he could chain continuous attacks for nearly an hour before the circuit degraded. He understood the limitation—the constant rewinding would wear down the mana circuits over time.

However, he wasn’t disappointed, this was for the best. Creating such an array undoubtedly left him overjoyed. He smiled and immediately thought of a name, from today henceforth, the time rotation array is born into this world! Kranos was pleased with himself, he was slowly ascending to the peak of the world.

Unfortunately, the array scriptures he had bought only contained basic runes. That meant he could only loop time for three seconds. With access to more advanced runes, he could significantly extend that duration.

Checking the time, he realized he had less than two weeks left before the trial. He needed to prepare a few life-saving arrays just in case. His power might be well above the trial’s level, but one could never be too careful.

With that thought, Kranos returned to cultivation.

...

Let me give you a little spoiler. Things are about to change drastically for Kranos, something he never expected would happen, and it seems... the madman? He wasn’t truly mad!!!
