Chapter 679 - 679: Writings on A Door

The door towered several meters tall, supported by metallic frames that, judging by their appearance, were not ordinary metal.

They look like frames supporting the gate of hell. They are imposing and well, just terrifying...

Then again, considering the drawings on it weren't languages the ordinary eye could see and the ordinary mind could read, it was clear the door was no simple door.

It looked imposing and dripped with red energy. Though the main door was deep black, the reddish energy emitting from it made it look horrific...

Kent looked up and saw that a large chain bound the door, so opening it wasn't going to be easy.

He relaxed his muscles and decided to look at it carefully...

When he had seen enough or as much as he could from afar, he gradually began to move toward it. It took considerable time, but eventually, he came close to the towering door and stepped onto land for the first time in perhaps months.

The moment he stepped on land, he felt his body free of all the resistance the water had put him through. He felt he had become even stronger as a result, and his drained energy had even returned.

'It feels good to have my energy back at least...

He raised his head and looked at the door. Now that he was closer, he saw that the door was situated on a stairway with seven steps.

And the door itself, now that he was closer, looked imposing. The door, as he noticed, was deep black, and judging by its rough surface, the metal would be heavy and very durable.

"I mean, I just have to get close and see if I can get this over with... touching it will reveal what I have to do next." Kent stepped on the first step... slowly at first, since he was familiar with most stairways.

He had one in his tower after all.

'Ordinary Stairway, huh...'

Thankfully, there was no pressure on it, so he quickly climbed it.

He stopped in front of the towering door, and then a deep sigh escaped his mouth. He was like a pebble in front of the large door. Of course, he didn't think too much about it and decided to check what he had to do.

He placed his palm on the door, expecting to hear a voice or get the info in his head. However, nothing of the sort happened.

Kent frowned. "Mostly, that is how these things are done. I put my hand on the door, and I will be informed on how to proceed. So what went wrong?"

He placed his left palm on the door again, but still nothing happened. This prompted Kent to enter a contemplative state, pondering what he was doing wrong.

After a few more minutes, a sigh escaped his lips.

"I guess I am so used to my human form that I am forgetting I am a dragon." Kent activated his Chaos dragon bloodline, and to his shock, the space he was in shook as if it was welcoming him.

The red river shook, and even the stairway shone brightly when his bloodline was activated.

"That's more like it," Kent grinned, then placed his palm on the door. This time, he heard a humming sound spread from beneath his palm and wash over the door.

Suddenly, the surface of the door became smooth. However, the large chain still bound it in the middle. While that made Kent frown, a smile appeared on his face because now he knew what he had to do.

"So I must break the chain with my fist... and then open the door." Kent smiled weakly, knowing neither of the two tasks was as simple as it sounded.

Just looking at the enormous chains binding the door was enough for Kent to know he was out of his league. But he also needed the technique, so he had to break it.

He moved back and raised his head to look at the chain again, thinking about how he was going to manage it. What he was being asked to do seemed impossible, and Kent knew that.

However, Chaos had done it, so he knew he could do it too. "Since I am the same person as Chaos, why can't I just learn the technique without having to go through all this?"

He managed to learn the Transcendent Heavenly Sword technique by just experiencing Jest's memories, so why couldn't he do the same with Chaos's memory?

A sigh escaped Kent's mouth.

However, when he brought his gaze down, something caught his attention. He moved closer, and when he was in front of the door again, he saw what was there...

"Ancient Draconic inscriptions." Kent was puzzled, then his eyes widened. It wasn't that this was his first time seeing such a language; he had seen plenty while reviewing Chaos's memories.

The shock came from what the few lines said.

⟦Day 1,820: I just managed to comprehend the Blood Aura and can use it around my fist. Time to learn how to merge the Blood Aura with my Chaos Claw Aura... I should be done within a few days.

I have already spent close to five years here. If I don't go back, who knows what those three great family idiots will do to the world of Lumen?⟧

Kent's expression was solemn as he looked at the next writing. He moved to his left, so the one he saw was day 1,819. This means he had to go to his right. There he saw day 1,821...

Kent moved further to his right and saw a few more until he came to the last one...

⟦Day 1,829: Today is exactly five years since I came here to learn this damn technique... curses. Of course, I know one day some idiot will stumble here with high hopes, but will even lose count of the number of days, weeks, months, or years he has been here.

I never knew... If I had known, I would have left this place a long time ago. However, I didn't, and now I get to leave here with the technique I've mastered.

However, after today, I guess it will be a while before I can use the Chaos Blood Claw Aura. I don't want to destroy my world with my fist... or claw accidentally.
