Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten -
Chapter 317: The Lin Sect~
Military training was about to come to an end.
That night during break time, Lin Zhengran, as usual, separated from the Three Little Ones and returned to his dorm.
In the near future, he’d definitely be moving out to live with the three girls, so who knew how many more nights he’d even spend in the boys’ dorm?
He figured it was time to start looking for a place soon. Plus, there was Wenwen’s live-streaming competition and Lili’s music contest—both happening later this year.
Lin Zhengran pushed open the dorm room door, assuming—as always—that no one would pay him any mind. After all, he had become the public enemy of all males during military training.
But to his surprise, the once-spacious four-person dorm was now crammed with people.
A quick glance showed at least twenty to thirty guys packed shoulder to shoulder, buzzing over something.
“Why isn’t he here yet?”
“No idea. He should be here soon, right?”
“Yeah, almost time.”When they saw Lin Zhengran step inside, he blinked in confusion.
“So many people?”
Their eyes widened in shock.
Then—suddenly—everyone snapped into formation and lined up neatly inside the room.
All of them bowed in unison and bellowed:
“Godfather! Please teach us how to get a beautiful girlfriend! How to make the girl we like fall for us! We’re begging you, Godfather! For the next few years, we’ll buy you food and fetch you water—anything! Just teach us, Godfather!!”
They clasped their hands and bowed again:
“Godfather!!”
The voices were unified and powerful—full of determination and reverence.
Lin Zhengran finally processed what was happening and couldn’t help but marvel—only top academic students could come up with something this absurd.
College really was a different world from high school.
In high school, they were too focused on studying. If they ignored him, it was genuine—because they had no time.
But in college? The pendulum had clearly swung to the other extreme.
A few minutes later, Lin Zhengran was sitting on his bed.
Two guys were cheerfully massaging his shoulders.
“Feeling good, Godfather? Is the pressure okay?”
Another handed him a basin of water.
“Godfather, try the water temperature. I’ll go find some rose petals to toss in.”
Someone else held out a stack of instant noodles, grinning ear to ear.
“Godfather, what flavor would you like for your late-night snack? I recommend the shrimp and fish cake flavor—it’s my favorite!”
Lin Zhengran started sweating from the attention, only for someone to immediately blot his forehead with a towel and shout,
“Quick! Turn on the A/C! Godfather’s sweating!”
Everyone scrambled for the remote.
“Let me!”
“I got it!”
“No, me!”
Someone even climbed up to the air conditioner to adjust it manually.
“Don’t fight! I’ll do it—I got it!”
Lin Zhengran sighed,
“Okay seriously, what do you people want from me? What are you even trying to ask?”
They were stunned, then all crowded closer with devout looks like they were meeting a holy priest.
“Godfather, we just want to know—how the h*ll did you attract every campus belle in our entire freshman class?! Some of us have been academic achievers for years, but we’ve never had a girlfriend, not even once!”
One guy actually started crying, wiping his eyes.
“Forget a girlfriend—when I was fifteen, I accidentally brushed against the silky black hair of the girl in front of me. I didn’t wash my hand for a week! Her hair was so smooth, with just a faint scent of shampoo. I’ll never forget it. I still dream about it sometimes.”
That opened the floodgates.
“I’m the same! Back in high school, a girl bumped into me during some horseplay and landed in my arms. I felt like I was floating for an entire month! My studying speed even doubled!”
“Same here! I’ve never been liked by a girl in my entire life! They all said I was a bookworm, always buried in my textbooks. But I wasn’t!
I was just too shy to talk to them, so I pretended to be a top student so I wouldn’t seem so awkward… and before I knew it, I ended up here. Boohoo!”
Then, a scholarly guy with glasses solemnly took a pouch from his chest.
“This… contains a piece of sugarcane pulp chewed by the girl I once liked. I’ve kept it all these years as a good luck charm. Every exam I passed, I was wearing this.
She has a girlfriend now, but I know—I wasn’t in love with her, I was in love with my own imagined youth. My ideal first love.
But now, I just want a real girlfriend. A real one.”
Everyone was pouring their hearts out with painful stories.
One turned to Lin Zhengran and said,
“So Godfather, during military training we saw you surrounded by girls every day—girls bringing you water, snacks, even getting jealous over you!
What kind of god-tier life is that?!”
Another clutched his chest.
“Just watching all that shook us to our core! That kind of thing—we couldn’t even imagine it!
If a girl ever brought me lipstick-stained water, I’d be willing to eat braised beef noodles for a whole month! Heck, I’d even give up my favorite shrimp and fish cake noodles forever!”
“Godfather, we’re begging you! Even just one or two tips—just a glimpse into your divine wisdom! From now on, whatever you do in this school, we’ll follow you without question!
You’re our kami, our deity!”
Everyone raised their hands high and chanted together:
“Lin Zhengran, our god! May you bless us!”
Lin Zhengran let out a blank, “Uh…”
“This feels more like a cult ritual… and none of you even talked to me during training.”
The group fell silent.
Then they rushed to explain themselves.
“That’s because we were too jealous at the time, Godfather! It clouded our judgment. But now that we’ve calmed down, we understand—only by following your lead can we find the light!
As the saying goes: Learn from the good, and correct the bad.
We realize it now. Faced with the ultimate god-level master of academics and romance, we shouldn’t be cold—we should get closer! We’ve been ashamed. We repent. We are sinners!”
Lin Zhengran raised his hand.
“Alright, alright! I get it. Just let me soak my feet first while I think about what to say.”
One guy tested the water with his hand and shouted in alarm,
“The temperature dropped two degrees! Add hot water immediately! Godfather’s sacred feet deserve optimal conditions!”
Lin Zhengran chuckled.
That night, after a bit of thinking, he decided—since they were so sincere—he’d share a few small tips.
The truth was, when it came to love, nothing mattered more than courage.
As long as you had courage, anyone could fall in love.
Even though he didn’t say much, the group clutched their notebooks like precious scripture, scribbling notes with stunned expressions.
Before going to bed, as they filed out of the room, each one bowed deeply to Lin Zhengran and chanted in unison:
“O Supreme One, may you have sweet dreams tonight. Long live the Lin Sect~”
Lin Zhengran: “....”
A bunch of lunatic weirdos.
