Zenith’s expression turned dark when he turned his face towards the direction where the voice came from. Though the voice was familiar to him, he saw a tall, giant figure standing still in the middle of the deserted hallway ahead of them.

The person approached them close after briefly pausing and when the moonlit scattering over the hallway fell on that person’s face, he was no one other than Aiden. Bearing a solemn aura around him, he kept glowering towards both of them coldly, especially at Zenith.

Kylian winced a little as if he didn’t expect Aiden to arrive there at that moment. Even after forming the pact with Zenith and accepting his condition to stay as his pet, he deliberately wanted to keep it a secret, especially from his bully gang.

But the worst happened when Zenith’s best friend discovered and approached them first, making him worry about how much Aiden must have heard them until now!

A fearful possibility dwelled inside him when Kylian pondered, what if Aiden had heard their conversation regarding his transition into an Omega?

Zenith was always quick in observing Kylian’s change of expression whenever a tough moment arose, and now watching his charming face had turned pale with a harrowing fear brooded in his eyes, Zenith narrowed his glare on Aiden before asking him, "What’re you doing here, Aiden?"

"Good grief." Aiden scoffed at him, sounding a bit irked by his tone when he crossed both his arms over his muscular chest, "Though I know how barely you pay any attention to your surroundings, I had hoped that you would at least remember I have recently changed my dormitory room from the previous one due to poor ventilation there.

"For your kind information, I also have my room allotted on this floor, and I told you about that way long before, right?"

His voice sounded very discontent just from the tone, and it indeed made Zenith realize how nonchalantly he has always treated everyone around him until now, except Kylian. He was amazed to realize he had started to pay attention to every detail about Kylian, to the extent of quickly observing his change of expression the moment he saw Aiden.

Even though Aiden had told him about this approximately over a month ago, but he paid no heed to his words. When Aiden pointed his finger at the room where he had newly shifted, after two rooms on the opposite side of the hallway, the first thought that hit his mind was, ’Damn it, why did Aiden have to shift in this specific building among the rest? I wanted to keep Kylian’s room a safe place from others...but how could I do that when Aiden’s here too?’

Aiden curtly rolled his hazel eyes at the room outside which Zenith and Kylian stood, before he exhaled a heavy sigh, assuming the situation, "So, did the boy was allotted this room here, huh? What a crazy coincidence."

’Darn it, even though Dr. Albert told me to build a safe bond with the betas in the Academy, and now that I know he’s also a beta, I am still not very comfortable approaching him. He bears a mysteriously odd aura around him and seems quite arrogant to approach.

’I knew all the boys in Zenith’s bully gang were worse, but among everyone, why did I become a neighbor with his best friend out of the blue? How worse the situation could ever get?’

Kylian was indulged in his serious thoughts as he exhaled a long sigh which didn’t go unnoticed by Aiden’s observation.

"Why did you take such a big sigh? Are you that unpleased to see me here? Did I interrupt any important discussion between you two?" Aiden intently taunted Kylian in his curt voice, which flinched him again as he didn’t expect him to be so keen on observing things around him.

But before Kylian could answer him, Zenith rushed towards Aiden and told him using his domineering tone, "I need to leave now. But before I go, I have certain things to discuss with you, Aiden."

"Of course, I also need to have a VERY important conversation with you too, Zenith. Good thing that I decided to come back to my room and found you here." Aiden’s tone was a little hoarse which depicted he must be antsy with him regarding something.

Before they were about to leave, Zenith turned his glance behind to look at Kylian once and showed a ’thumbs-up’ sign to him, as a means of assuring him a little.

Kylian stared still without answering his signal, but his grimace turned dark while he contemplated what kind of discussion must be happening between them now. He was afraid, but he chose to put a bit of faith in Zenith, wondering if he would keep his secret safe with him...

Upon walking out of that building, Aiden who was walking faster than Zenith halted his motion and turned around, facing Zenith head-on. Bearing a bit of nervousness in his pitch-black eyes, Zenith put on his stoic face while asking him, "What did you want to speak to me?"

"You are well aware of it." Aiden grunted, and his eyes held a scary gaze towards him, when he continued, "To use such a pathetic excuse of falling sick and resting inside the room, and then disappearing from the Academy without permission for the whole day which is clearly against the top 10 golden rules strictly set for the students, did you seriously think I wouldn’t be able to find it out?"

Aiden was always a smart observant, which had often caused some troubles for Zenith in the past. But now he didn’t expect him to find out about his disappearance so easily, which turned Zenith a bit anxious as he scratched the back of his head when he tried to answer, "Well, I had my reasons to—"

"What reason? To take that boy outside with you...do you really consider it as a reason?" Aiden sounded quite irked by his tone as he didn’t even give him the chance to finish his words before charging him again.

"Don’t you fuckin’ dare to lie again and tell me, what’s going on between you and that troublemaker newbie? Where did you take him along with you?"
