Chapter 103: Chapter 103: I Don’t Hate Him

Each of their horrifying stories left Kylian in utmost disbelief when he witnessed how cruel those bullying incidents had scarred their life. Each of their faces were tainted with darkness followed by extreme horror visible in their eyes as they spoke. Even though he had witnessed Stephan getting viciously beaten by them, hearing their stories churned Kylian in disgust and rage from inside.

However, the second they called him an Alpha again, it made him realize the bitter reality he was obliged to live in. Just because he was feigning the act of an Alpha, those boys were treating him with respect.

He knew if they were aware of his real trait, there’s no way they would ever acknowledge him for his strength, and strong will, but rather would chose to belittle him just because he transitioned into an omega.

But hearing those painful stories from them stirred a agonizing heartache inside him, when he understood the sins Zenith had committed against others were far darker than he had ever expected them to be.

But strangely, each of Zenith’s actions contrasted with how he treated those students, in comparison to how he had been gentle and sincere with Kylian until now.

Though Zenith’s gang had forced Dan to jump off a great height, it was also Zenith who didn’t have a second thought and jumped after him to save Kylian’s life when he had foolishly jumped off that building.

Each of his actions was too drastic in comparison, but while Kylian was contemplating them, he could feel a strange palpitation rising inside his chest. The soft corner that had started to grow in his heart towards Zenith made his mind baffled into pondering whether he should actually feel that way towards a cruel bully like him in the first place!

Indeed, hearing their stories made him feel disgusted by Zenith’s unforgivable deeds. But he couldn’t deny it himself, a part of his heart still tried to coax him into thinking what if there was a reason behind it? Or what if he should actually give Zenith a chance to explain his actions?

~ "I know their stories must have moved you deeply, Kylian. I know how much you despise watching someone being cruelly tormented, and I completely sympathize with these boys’ sufferings too. I know what Zenith has done in the past can’t be forgiven easily, but you do have witnessed he’s trying to change by following your conditions, right? He even saved your life a few times, if he was truly a heartless monster, he wouldn’t have bothered to do that for you either..."

Just when Kylian was internally conflicted within his heart and mind, his wolf Morpheus’s words showed him a little glimmer of hope amidst the anxious darkness that was swallowing him from inside.

Even though Kylian felt a little relieved from his consoling words, but he rather chose to scowl at Morpheus through mind-link, "I don’t understand, how do you never skip any chance to justify Zenith’s actions whenever I start getting dubious about him. How did you grow that infatuated when you have barely known him?"

~ "I don’t know the answer, but being around that Alpha, near his pheromones puts me at ease. Besides, he’s the first Alpha who held me after the transition, and even though you acted harshly towards him, he didn’t take advantage of you when you were at your weakest point, Kylian. You must’ve witnessed countless Alphas while growing up, do you think anyone could’ve let you go unharmed in your first heat, just as he did?"

Morpheus curtly argued back to him, making Kylian think of the consideration which he had partly forgotten after hearing from those boys. Deep down inside, Kylian couldn’t oppose him either since he knew Morpheus was right...despite what Zenith had put those boys through, he couldn’t deny his sincere actions until now that had left him indebted to Zenith.

"Damn it, instead of bluntly defending Zenith, if you had possessed any special gifted ability like him, I would have been more happy with you, Morpheus." Kylian scoffed at him, which immediately made Morpheus argue, sounding a bit offended.

~ "Hey, you better not belittle my strength just because I didn’t accomply you in your stupid act. Besides, gifted abilities don’t get exposed like that if you force them to come out, even though I am also an ancestral lineage bearing omega. As far my knowledge, the powers always show up in dire situations, and who knows maybe one day I might be able to expose my unique gifted ability right before your face?"

"Hey, Kylian...are you alright? Why did you become completely silent? Were the stories about what we faced here too uncomfortable for you to hear it?" Kylian jolted his senses back hearing Dan’s gentle tap on his shoulder, followed by a concerned mumble.

His words made him realize those boys might be getting awkward around him with the silence, to which he put on a gentle smile while trying to reassure them, "Oh...no, I was just too shocked after hearing all this, that it took me some time to process it. But now that you have trusted to share your pain with me, I also feel a bit proud of myself for standing against those bullies on my first day here."

"Yes, and that’s why we admire you very much. We are very happy knowing just like us you must loathe that bastard Zenith from the core of your heart too, right?"

"Um, hate?" When Dan asked him aloud in an enthusiastic tone, Kylian fell into a void of confusion again, pondering what should be the right answer to give them.

Watching his facial complexion turn a little, Stephan frowned his brows while he urged him, "Kyle, you do hate Zenith just like us, right?"

’Hate? Hate is such a strong word to define what I feel towards him...but...after spending time with him all this while, I am certain...I don’t hate Zenith. I still don’t know how to define my emotions, but I can’t tell this to anybody else either...’ With that thought wondering in his head, Kylian put on a small fake smile, "Yes, I do...hate him."

"We are happy to hear that. And...we have trust in you." Roby mumbled this time with a soft smile on his lips, when he urged, "Would you consider us as your friends from now onwards, Kylian? Besides—"

Suddenly when Roby trailed off his words and his face turned a little solemn, Stephan curiously urged him after noticing, "What happened? Why did you stop?"

"Hey...can you guys sniff a sweet smell coming from nearby? I have been sensing that scent for a while...as if it is a kind of floral scent...similar to omega pheromones..."

Roby muttered while sniffing his nose a few times in the air, but his words led a shuddering chill to run down Kylian’s spine.
