Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth
Chapter 559: Tapu Fini Going Easy

Three days later, Julian left Ula'ula Island. Since he had already defeated Tapu Bulu earlier, this time there was no attempt to stop him—after all, Tapu Bulu had even given him the token that symbolized its defeat.

Watching the troublemaker (Julian) finally leave, Tapu Bulu turned and headed toward Akala Island, where Tapu Lele resided. Did it really think Tapu Bulu didn’t know what it had done?

There had finally been a Totem-class Pokémon on its island, one it had carefully kept hidden. Yet, Tapu Lele just sold it off to Julian like some kind of favor.

There was no way Tapu Bulu could swallow that. It had to go to Tapu Lele and settle the score.

Meanwhile, on Poni Island, Ember looked in disbelief at Tapu Fini, who she had just defeated.

"Did Blaziken just go super Saiyan or something?"

Counting her victory, all four of them had defeated Tapu Fini on the same day.

Before this, even if one of them had managed to beat Tapu Fini, that would’ve been a huge accomplishment. But now, all four had defeated it, one after another.

Asher muttered, “Why did this guy suddenly go easy on us?”

He had initially thought it was due to his own strength—his Salamence was just that awesome. But after Tapu Fini, who had clearly lost, didn’t even rest and instead asked for a rematch with a different team member, things got strange.

Then it was Rowan who defeated Tapu Fini, followed by Pierce.

And now, Ember had beaten Tapu Fini too—with her Blaziken knocking it out in just three hits.

Sure, Blaziken was strong, but not that strong—not to the point where it could take down a mid-stage pseudo-Champion with three hits. Especially considering Blaziken was still only at the late Elite level.

So yeah, this had to be intentional mercy. No—this was full-on self sabotage.

The four of them were now completely puzzled. Tapu Fini had been ruthless before, usually knocking out their Pokémon in just two or three moves.

But now, it was suddenly going easy on them for no reason. None of them could figure out what it meant.

Tapu Fini: “You may leave now. Here are the tokens for defeating me. Oh, and Julian asked me to tell you that he’s waiting for you on the eastern side of Melemele Island.”

The four of them stared at the seashell tokens in their hands. After hearing Tapu Fini’s words, Pierce finally understood why Tapu Fini had gone easy on them.

He was just curious how Julian had managed to make Tapu Fini pull its punches.

Tapu Fini didn’t elaborate. It had done and said what it needed to. With that, it immediately left.

It was heading to Akala Island to watch the drama unfold—because Tapu Bulu was already on its way to raise hell.

How could it miss out on the fun?

As Tapu Fini left, Ember walked over, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"When did Julian get so chummy with that guy?"

Of course, she wasn’t stupid—after hearing what Tapu Fini had said, she immediately understood what was going on.

"Who knows? We’ll find out when we get to Melemele Island," Asher shrugged.

Before long, the four of them packed up their things, mounted their respective Flying-type Pokémon, and flew toward the eastern side of Melemele Island.

Meanwhile, Julian was already waiting for them there.

On the eastern beach, Julian lounged in a beach chair, wearing swim trunks with a parasol planted beside him. In his hand was a drink made by Slowking.

His gaze drifted to a pair of Mareanie nearby, clearly in the middle of a romantic moment.

"Ugh, the stench of love."

With that, he downed the rest of his drink in one gulp and casually tossed the cup forward.

Thunk!

A perfect hit—right on one of the Mareanie’s heads.

The female Mareanie clutched its head, tears welling in its eyes as it looked in the direction the cup had come from. There, a human was waving at them.

The male Mareanie wasn’t about to let its sweetheart be bullied like this. It immediately puffed up, ready to teach Julian a lesson and flex its muscles to impress its mate.

Meanwhile, Gengar was holding a tiny shovel, being chased by the massive Palossand, who let out angry roars every now and then as it moved its huge body after him.

Apparently bored of their game of tag, Gengar suddenly flung the little shovel—which just so happened to fly right in the direction of the two Mareanie.

The male Mareanie was about to go settle the score with Julian when suddenly—smack!—a tiny shovel flew right into its face.

The Mareanie, already enraged, now had a shovel smacking it in the head. There was no doubt—this was definitely that human’s doing!

BOOM!

A deafening rumble echoed. Instinctively, the male Mareanie turned toward the noise.

'…Oh, crap.'

WHAM!

The next second, both it and its girlfriend were sent flying by Palossand, who had barreled into them. The little shovel flew into the air and landed squarely on Palossand’s head.

Palossand’s furious expression instantly became calm. It quietly buried its body back into the sand, leaving only the tiny shovel on top of its head sticking out.

Nearby, Arcanine was enthusiastically digging holes in the sand with its front paws, sending showers of sand flying—straight into the mouth of Pupitar, who stood behind it.

Pupitar: “Tastes kinda like cotton candy… just not sweet enough.”

Out in the ocean, Dragonite lounged in the water, using sheer intimidation to force two Toxapex into giving it an underwater massage. The more comfortable it looked, the angrier the Toxapex became, their punches growing increasingly forceful.

Steelix had buried most of its body in the sand, leaving only its head exposed. On top of its head? A pile of snacks.

Julian occasionally reached over to grab a snack from Steelix’s head. Honestly, it made for a pretty decent coffee table.

Lucario and Melmetal were sparring, their fists colliding with brutal force. Since Lucario had already broken through to the Elite level, it was deliberately suppressing its strength to keep the fight fair.

Moltres was acting as both the referee and the audience, occasionally letting out a cheerful cry of approval.

Gabite, watching from the side, was itching to join the fight—only to be blasted away the very next second by the shockwave from their clashing fists.

When it finally got up, it was instantly deflated, and trudged over to Julian with a sulky expression.

Julian didn’t bother comforting it—if you're sulking, just stay quiet and sulk.

Meanwhile, Kartana stood by the shore, slashing at the ocean over and over again.

It had fallen for Julian’s nonsense—he’d told it that if it could ever split the sea without the water closing back, it would be hailed as the greatest swordsman in the world.

Truly a gullible kid. Honestly, Julian as a trainer was kind of heartless.

The boss of the team, Metagross, had decided to imitate Steelix and buried itself in the sand too—except it went all in and covered its entire body.

The warm sand covering it felt surprisingly comfortable.

That was, until it suddenly felt like something had landed on top of it—something heavy.

Aggron, sitting on what it assumed was just sand, blinked in surprise. For the first time, it realized sand could be this sturdy. It sat down and didn’t sink in. How odd.

It stood up, sat back down, stood again, sat again—testing the strange, unyielding ground beneath it.

'Weird.'
