Chapter 148: Lilith And Marie’s Return

With her eyelids fluttering and trembling, Candace held her breath and moved away from Dora, who fixed his eyes on the photo.

"You... who... are... You?"

Dora narrowed his eyes and scratched his chin, then shook his head and put the photo on the floor.

"No, I got it wrong. It’s not the same person. But this Midgard, is she really..."

"Damn! Watch out!!!"

A sudden large shadow stretched across the area, enveloping Dora. Before he could react, Candace jumped on him and pushed him aside just in time as a massive object landed on the ground with a thud, creating a small crater.

As the dust settled, Dora found himself in the arms of the dean, who was standing up with her fist clenched in front of his head and her teeth gritted.

"The... What the Hell is wrong with you?!"

Looking around, Dora saw a figure emerging from the dust cloud, holding a large red and black hammer on their shoulder.

With a smile on their face, the figure stepped forward, their shadow casting a long trail on the ground.

"Don’t sweat it, Grandma. I’m just saying hello to my old pal."

As the misty veil lifted, a young girl emerged into view. Her flaming red hair cascaded down in long, twin tails.

She stood tall and confident, her toned and alluring figure accentuated by the tight-fitting black and red jumpsuit that hugged her curves. She wore a sleeveless jacket with a soft and luxurious fur collar that wrapped around her neck, adding a touch of elegance to her outfit. Her long and shapely legs were clad in black tights that seemed to shimmer under the light, and she completed her look with a pair of striking red and black boots that stretched up to her knees.

"I’ve been eating tons of meat, exercising every week, and drinking lots of milk, and now it’s time to pay the bill, I-diora."

Lilith had returned, very different from her past self. She had matured into a seducing girl.

Dora watched her, trying to figure out the young girl’s identity, without realizing that it increased her satisfaction.

"Can’t recognize me anymore? Eh, bet you weren’t ready for that."

As Lilith stood there, a girl who was a little taller than her caught Dora’s attention. The girl had a striking appearance, with a long, flowing ponytail that swayed as she moved.

She wore a fashionable leather jacket adorned with accessories hanging from the pockets, adding a unique touch to her outfit. She wore short black jeans that hugged her curves and showed off her long legs. Her long socks, with blue and black baskets, were a playful addition. While Lilith was observing Dora, the girl was busy capturing a photo of him with her phone.

"That’s a good surprised face, Idiora." Marie smiled.

On the ground, the boy blinked in astonishment, looking at the two girls with furrowed brows. The girls before him waited for a reaction, their breathing quickening despite their calm expressions.

"Um... so, I guess... I know you too?"

They tilted their heads and looked at each other, intrigued.

"Hm... Idiora, I know we’ve changed a lot, but I’m sure it shouldn’t be that hard."

"He’s playing with us. Wait. I’ll help him remember," Lilith said as she raised her hammer, drowning Dora in its shadow.

"Wait! Calm down, girls, now!" Candace stood before Dora, forcing Lilith to abandon her second speaking method.

"Come on, Miss Candace, we’re just celebrating our reunion; we told you about our relationship."

The dean took a deep breath and placed a hand on her forehead.

"Look... Damn, and of course, I’m going to take responsibility... Girls, I’m sorry, but you won’t have the warm reunion you hoped for."

Both girls looked at the dean in confusion. She shook her head and grabbed Dora’s hand.

"Let’s talk with everyone, but remember that before you jump down my throat. We may have failed."

A few minutes later, Thomas and Hope arrived at the hospital. The young hero put his trembling hands in his pockets and chewed his gum while looking to the side.

Thomas, with a bright smile, patted him on the back.

"Come on, why are you so nervous? I’m the one who’s going to be humiliated."

"...What kind of pleasure do you find in this?"

Cid let out a deep sigh as he grasped the doorknob and turned it to push the door open. "You can keep your silly games for later. The dean has requested our presence right away to prepare for the expedition to the Kalaharis."

Thomas and Hope were taken aback by the suddenness of the call.

"Already? So... Is he ready?" Thomas inquired, trailing behind Cid.

Hope followed closely behind, his feet dragging reluctantly on the ground. Cid nodded, his gaze fixed directly ahead of him.

"More or less, shits went down here in the last few hours. You will see for yourself."

"Wait... So we’re going to see everyone?" Hope whispered in a low voice, his footsteps becoming heavier.

Cid made a noise, enough of a response to discourage Hope from persisting, but with his quick mind, Thomas understood that there was a deeper meaning behind it.

They entered a spacious room that looked like a classroom, with numerous desks arranged in rows. All the council members were present, including a few Holy Knights and emissaries. Lilith and Marie stood in front of Dora, who was sitting next to the dean, in front of everyone. Marie’s eyes widened, and she trembled slightly.
