Chapter 136: Dating Start
Chapter 136: Dating Start
At the hospital, Candace held a meeting with her students to discuss the situation with Dora and their operation in Kalaharis.Next to a window, Freya, looking annoyed, shook her head.
"No, that’s definitely the worst idea, that’s literally what he wants."
"Maybe, but think about it," said Iris. "If his memory is wiped, maybe we can get him back on our side? Maybe we can use him to make him an ally again?"
"Iris, what kind of idiot would give up a fight he has already won? He was right, we are tied hand and foot. No matter what we say, we can’t be sure that Envy will help us, the only record of Wrath is a war, and God only knows where Lust is. How do we know we will get help? What if we fail?"
She turned to look at the sky behind her.
"In wars, the more monstrous a weapon is, the more necessary it is. Greed is a monster, but a monster that will attack everyone, including our enemies too. Sooner or later, we would have let it go, it was worth to bet on patience... Why would he fade away?... What kind of witchcraft does this devil do?

At the same time in a cinema.
"So, um, what’s your favorite color?"
"...Are you really hitting on me?"
"Aaah, just play the game! I thought we had it figured out."
"Oh, we did, but your technique sucks, have you ever gone out with... ah, stupid question."
"Yeah."
She laughed and took a sip of her fry juice.
"Well, let’s see...maybe try to be natural? Come on, I’m sure you have a photoshoot with this lady."
"Urgh... okay... so... um... It’s... a beautiful day outside."
"Hey... yeah?"
"Um... birds are singing, people are talking..."
"Yeah, come on, you got it."
"It’s a beautiful day for..."
"Yes... um"
"Commit a crime."
Mercy burst out laughing.
Dora groaned and crossed his arms.
"Yeah, it was too hard to stay serious for that long. You two can laugh, I don’t care."
She burst out again, followed by Dora shoving a spoonful of strawberry cake into her mouth to shut her up.
She greedily ate the thing and gave him a teasing look.
"Mmmkay, let’s see, my turn... What good did you find in me?"
"...here we go."
"What? Even if I would fall for you? You better be convincing, I’m an ice queen."
"Hmmmm, ok, if you insist...I’ll tell you."
She leaned forward, hands on her cheeks. Dora took a deep breath and looked at her.
"It all started when I first saw you... I was loss for words, who was she? Why is she so... special... I thought you would be a danger. .. but then I saw your choice of a knight and I was disappointed."
She raised her eyebrows and stepped back.
"Urgh... couldn’t we?"
"Wait, it’s better... Everything changed one day, when we trained together. That day, you fought better than usual, you were dazzling, I couldn’t believe it my eyes..."
She scratched her nose and looked away with a small smile.
"When I saw your calves... I said to myself: that’s matriculation Dora."
"Gonna kick yer ass!"
"With yer legs?!"
She raised her spoon, but instead of hitting him, she took a big spoon of her lemon tart and put it in Dora’s mouth.
"Here, keep yer mouth closed, yer... yer... kuh... dammit..." She sat down laughing again, Dora swallowed the cake with a mocking gaze.
"Meh, don’t care, you’re the one paying anyway."
"Oh? Ah, yer right!... Hm... Then... I should make ya pay another way!"
Dora froze for a moment, feeling a shiver running down his spine. The memories of a beast eating him resurfaced.
"... What way?"
She smiled at him and stood up.
A little later, in an amusement park, both were disguised as mascots, Mercy in a cat and Dora in a black sheep.
Their disguises allowed them to se meler a la foule without being recognized, and so they could feel more free.
They used every possible attraction at their disposal, visiting the haunted house, where Mercy ended up terrifying everyone, the princess cafe, where Mercy had to surpass herself to force Dora to get out, the rollercoaster, that bored them both, and many others.
They laughed and had more fun than usual, Mercy particularly was dazzling, maybe because she had finally let go of the weight in her heart.
She enjoyed every second, like she never had fun before, and thus, the afternoon came.
They were in a Ferris wheel, watching the beautiful city. Since they were just two, they decided to take off their mascot’s head.
The setting sun offered a dreamy display of the interior and soon, their eyes met again.
Mercy looked away, with a smile, the sunset hiding her blushing.
"Well... that was really a good day... a true..."
"Rollercoaster?"
"Ah, yes, exactly. A rollercoaster of emotion..."
"Hm? No, I was asking if you wanted another rollercoaster... But yes, that too... It was funnier than fighting."
She looked at him for a bit, the boy losing his sight in the horizon then had a sad smile.
"Hey?"
"Hm?"
"... Thanks."
Dora turned his gaze toward her, a little surprised.
"Why? I’m enjoying this, this is way better than staying at the hospital... even though I’m still chained... But I just pretend that it’s to match your style and it works."
He smiled at her, both looked at each other silently for seconds.
Mercy lowered her gaze hesitantly and looked back at him.
"Say... is this date over?"
"... It’s getting late, so I suppose, soon."
"Ah... too bad, I really enjoyed this. You’re not too bad."
"Nope, I’m the worst, but you were even worse than me."
"Is that so? Ha, then we make a perfect duo... A duo of idiots."
"I was gonna say genius but you’re free to see yourself the way you are."
"... Wanna hear the end of your favorite children’s show?"
"Guh...calm down, I was just joking..."
They laughed together for a bit, the setting sun coming down.
Later, they stood in front of the hospital, watching the building knowing that one more step would mean the end of their wonderful day.
Mercy seemed annoyed and kept scratching her ear.
Dora took one breath and took a step forward.
"Better hurry, knowing the old folk, she will send an army if I’m not back for dinner. Let’s go."
He started walking, but suddenly felt a little pressure on his back, Mercy pulling him.
"What is it?... Oh, eh? Why do you look so flustered? Don’t tell me you actually enjoyed too much this Dora, I thought I wasn’t good."
"Yer definitely not good... Yer a liar..." She looked at him hesitantly. "Ya said that you would teach me love too, so I still feel like it wasn’t enough... I mean... this is not the ending I expected..."
She pouted, her face red in embarrassment. Dora stared at her silently and turned back to the hospital with a little laugh.
"Hmmm? Excuse me? I think I don’t understand what you mean, could you be more clear?"
"Eh? What’s so funny?! Stop laughing, ya know what I meant, yer idiot!" She gave him a kick and followed him inside.
They walked for a bit, Mercy more and more flustered, then noticing that they would soon be around more people, she snapped.
"Goddammit, screw it! Hey, Dora!"
"Yes, that is..."
He turned his head, before seeing two hands grabbing his head and pulling him forward.
Suddenly, the world opened a new door to him, as Mercy’s lips pushed on his. In the middle of an alley, the young girl gave him the sweetest kiss, maintaining his head against hers, as in fear that he would run away, and so, so strong that he felt his head being crushed.
But the pain was slowly taken over by the sweet taste of the girl who decided to cross the line.
She slowly pulled off and took a few steps back, her hands on her back.
"... This is how ya finish a date."
Dora, stunned, looked at the girl who turned around without waiting for his reaction and ran towards the entrance.
"That’s because ya were great, but Yer still not good if ya can’t read the mood, now see ya!" She disappeared at the front door, leaving Dora with a shocked expression.
He put his right hand to his lips, the feeling of the kiss still present then kept staring at the entrance of the hospital, and finally, with a growing smile, he turned his back and walked in.
The meeting ended with this sweet goodbye, but he didn’t know that somewhere, not far enough away, a young hero was watching the scene.
Meanwhile, things were moving at high speed in the background. Agiel was in Gloria’s manor, sitting in her living room, all the nymphs around the room.
With Moonra and Solaria next to her, the Queen crossed her arms.
"I guess you understand what will happen if you say a wrong word."
Agiel, with a serious expression, nodded.
"Yes, my Queen, but this time I am confident you will give me all your attention. I have a request, concerning Greed."
The Queen’s eyes shine in bright orange.
"Proceed."
