Chapter 127: Reuning The Remaining Leaves

Chapter 127: Reuning The Remaining Leaves

The next day, news of Dora’s recovery went around the kingdom, and not just in a good way. The situation regarding him during the year had caused a lot of ink to flow.

During Candace’s speech, an abnormal event occurred: the return of Agiel, supposed to have died in the capital.

It was he who brought the information about Dora’s survival and, after regaining control of Parliament, he was at the origin of many changes in the Kingdom.

First, a wanted poster had been issued for Dora, with the promise of being recognized as noble for anyone who could succeed.

This led to several reports among people throughout the Kingdom, but each time Dora escaped before the alliance’s emissaries could arrive, motivating the citizens to use a more effective way to deal with him, keeping him close, using status skills such as sleep or even poison.

And as Dora stated, this led to the awakening of his other half and several genocides. He then became both feared for his retaliation and eagerly sought after as he was the only hope left for the people since the queen remained in her manor and Silva had never come to Ambrosia.

Dora arrived in Mistrallon, a southern city, and the new seat of Parliament and most of the nobles.

Upon his arrival, people could be expected to be either hateful or frightened since he was now known as the second person responsible for the Twilight of the Gods, an invincible Avatar, a serial murderer but also the third person known to have the power to stop the Apocalypse, and it was, therefore, acclamation that greeted him.

He was deported to the largest hospital in the city, constantly monitored by several emissaries specially trained by Candace, with the only instruction not to let the slightest source of energy approach him.

He was then lying on a bed, chains binding his wrists and ankles to his bed, but long enough so that he would not be paralyzed.

Agharita watched him indifferently, leaning against the wall, she glanced at the euphoric crowd outside.

"It would be fun if we let them in and see what a pathetic state he is in, they will at least be smart enough to escape."

Freya, sitting next to Dora, gave the woman a death glare. Soon, footsteps approached and the door opened suddenly.

Dora flinched when Mercy entered the room. She took a quick look at those around her, and after noticing him, she rushed to him and hugged him tightly.

"My God... Finally... you’re finally back... Dora, it’s really you..." she grabbed his cheeks and stared at every detail of his face to confirm that it was him, tears of joy in her eyes.

Dora seemed a little surprised, especially by her physical change.

Her hair was still short, but a little longer than before and less maintained. Her chest was more developed and her previously cute face had matured into something more attractive.

Her taste in clothing was also different, she wore a gothic black leather jacket over a midriff-baring white tank top, black jeans, and black leather high-heeled boots.

She too was now a little taller than Dora, and following her, Iris also entered the room. Under armor similar to that Elizabeth wore, it was difficult to notice any change. Her face was noticeably more refined and she had replaced her ponytail with the same kind of hairstyle as the late legend.

She hesitantly entered the room and stopped in front of Dora’s bed, devastated to see him chained like an animal.

She lowered her head and knelt down, much to the boy’s surprise.

"Sorry..." she said in a very weak voice.

Dora, surprised, blinked several times as if he couldn’t believe what he had just seen and reached out his hand towards her.

"Don’t do this, please, I don’t deserve this..."

He flinched when he noticed tears falling from her.

"Please... please let me apologize... I can never repay what I did... I... I can’t forget... I can’t forgive... I always wanted... to fight alongside you... to be there for you... I could have done it... I should have come back sooner... I trained to support you, to be your sword...everything was for you... and when you needed me the most..."

She raised her head, drowned in tears.

"I’m so sorry... for you... for Midgard... for Peters... For..."

"ENOUGH!"

Another person burst into the room and his presence alarmed everyone.

Hope was just outside the door. His physical appearance was now a somewhat intense version of his latest style.

He was slightly more muscular than before, his hair was combed back, leaving his forehead clear.

He wore black combat fatigues, torn on several sides, a sign that he had experienced many battles.

He carried a large sword on his back, but the most visible change was his facial expression.

His eyes were filled neither with fear nor arrogance, but with pure anger.

He looked at Dora intently and took a step forward before Cid’s hand rested on his shoulder.

"No, you won’t go any further." The young man in a noble orange outfit and taller than everyone said.

Hope kept his eyes glued to Dora.

"I’m only going to ask you this once, take your hand from me!"

"And I’m going to tell you one more time, you won’t go any further."

Iris, Freya and two emissaries stood ready to intercept the intruder. Hope, with dead eyes, looked at them and then at Dora.

"Yes, I know you will always protect him, I know he can kill everyone, there will always be someone to defend him, I don’t expect anything from you all... I’m only here for him to talk. "

"You don’t need to come any closer, we can hear you," Mercy said staying closer to Dora while Zuri’s hands glowed.

They were all ready to wreak havoc, when Candace entered the room as well, clapping her hands for silence, followed by Agiel.

"Alright, time’s up! You kids are really good at this, even in times like these." She said looking at Hope.

The young man frowned, his fists trembling. Agiel, amused, approached Dora and admired him.

"Hm... aren’t you too used to this kind of treatment? You should at least ask for a bigger cage."

A spark flashed beside him, Iris, hands on her sword giving him the most convincing deterrence.

"I was only referring to those chains, I don’t see the point in restraining him, he’s a Sin Avatar on the level of Gloria and Silva, what will chaining him do?"

"But this order came from your Parliament, none of us asked for it." The former student council president said, causing Agiel to raise his hands and shake his head ironically.

"In politics, as in life, appearances are everything. This way they won’t ask for a tinier cage."

He gently placed a hand on his chest and nodded, then noticed Dora’s steady gaze.

"Oh, you must be surprised to see me alive, dear friend, after all, your other self really did a number on me."

He gave the others a frustrating smile, but Dora remained calm and just shook his head.

"No, I saw memories of you centuries ago, I know you are someone who has transcended time, but I don’t know how."

Everyone looked at him with concern, Agiel, a little surprised at first, narrowed his eyes with a sinister smile.

"Ah, I was very lucky there... You share the memories of your other half. Let’s talk a little, dear traveler from another world."
