Chapter 125: Tears Of Joy And Despair
Chapter 125: Tears Of Joy And Despair
Dora snapped his finger and a dimensional hole opened beneath Erick, swallowing him into oblivion. Dora stood still for a moment then closed his eyes.
"See? It’s not that complicated. If you weren’t so persistent, he wouldn’t have to suffer so much... Ouh, I get chills thinking about the fate of our next victim, partner."
He stood for a moment and then, in a brief moment, the light in his eyes disappeared.
Dora fell to his knees like a puppet cut from its strings and slowly, his eyes came back to life.
He stayed immobile, his knee on the bloody grass witness of the most gruesome massacre in his memory.
He put his hands to his head and tore out his hair in despair.
A heartbreaking scream tore through the forest.
The wind blew through the leaves, the clouds crossed the sky, and the young boy’s body remained inert on the blood, trembling.
His vision was blurry, his throat was dry. His head felt like it was about to explode, and as the silence brought him a false peace, he remembered that blood in a forest was usually a death sentence.
A growl rose further in the forest.
He looked up with dead eyes and saw the terrible sight of the shadow of a monster.
The beast, looking like a white bear with purple patterns on its body, advanced towards him slowly, sniffing the ground.
He stopped a few feet away, looking closely at the boy lying on the bloody ground.
Dora forced his body upright, knowing he couldn’t escape.
Looking down, he waited for the inevitable outcome.
A moment of silence passed, then the beast uttered several growls and rushed towards him.
The giant jaws armed with sharp teeth, large enough to hold an adult upright, opened and approached Dora.
"Night light!"
A jet of black and white light fell on the beast, instantly vaporizing it.
The ground shook and smoke arose from the crater left by the attack.
Dora stared in amazement, and as several shadows emerged, his eyes widened in disbelief.
The group of emissaries had found him.
Paralyzed, he sat there speechless, and soon the most terrifying sound made him flinch.
A scream rose from further away and a shadow crossed the emissaries.
"Hey, wait!"
"It’s not sure yet..."
But the shadow with long black hair was already on top of Dora.
Zuri, landed on Dora, throwing him several meters.
She screamed, not a word, not even a visual check, just a pure explosion of her emotions.
Pinned with his back on the ground, Dora looked at this girl sitting on his stomach to prevent him from running away.
He noticed that her appearance had changed slightly from the last time he saw her. She had grown taller and now stood slightly taller than him.
Her hair had also grown longer, reaching down to her thick thighs in the back and her shoulders in the front.
He also observed that her body had changed; the curves and shapes visible under her battlesuit made it seem like more than just a year and a few months had passed.
Her trembling hands grabbed his cheeks and brought her face closer to him to confirm his identity, her tears falling down his face.
"Iz it you... Iz hit weally you.... Aaahhh...." That part of her hadn’t changed at all.
She headbutted him hard on the chest, visibly just in an attempt to rest her head on him, but the little beating she gave to his shoulder next was definitively intentional.
"Why? WHY??? WHY DID YOU LEAVE?! WHY DO YOU KEEP RUNNING AWAY?!... WHYYY???"
She started crying loudly over him, watching this scene, the emissaries confirmed the success of their operation on a transmission device.
Next to them, another shadow, responsible for the attack on the monster, dropped her devices and also rushed towards Dora.
Sobbing, Freya hugged his head as well. She too had undergone a little change.
She too had undergone an impressive change.
Her hair was more sublime than before, reaching down her back
She managed to become prettier than before, and even in her combat uniform, you couldn’t see the slightest dirt.
An elegance that lived up to her reputation as the most beautiful lady in the kingdom.
Her physical appearance was slightly different too, with a visible change in the size of her thighs and breast.
Both went from teens to young adults in almost two years, a consequence of breaking their biological limits with Candace’s training.
Dora in opposite, remained the same, because of the tragic curse of being frozen in a young body forever.
"It’s over... it’s finally over... Thank God..." she murmured.
The group gathered around them, giving them time to celebrate their reunion.
Agharita and Candace moved closer, hesitantly at first.
They had a hundred things they wanted to discuss, but emotion was overwhelming them, in different ways.
Candace was afraid, more than most people, she had worked hard to one day come to this conclusion, but she understood that finding Dora would come at the cost of the truth, a truth she was not ready to accept.
Meanwhile, Agharita materialized a dagger, a blank expression on her face.
Upon noticing this, Dora panicked.
"NO! NOT THAT! Please!!!"
Everyone flinched and turned to Agharita in confusion.
"Agharita?" Candace frowned.
The ex-Holy Knight, maintaining a bland expression, pointed the dagger at him.
"Master, I’m just making sure this thing doesn’t cause us any harm."
Hearing this, Freya and Zuri positioned themselves in front of Dora.
"You won’t do anything!" Zuri said, her nose running profusely.
Freya frowned, noticing the frightened expression of all the emissaries.
She understood the dilemma they found themselves in.
During her speech almost two years ago, Candace detailed the events of the Twilight of Gods, from Agiel’s plan to Fafnir’s implosion.
Thus, the takeover of Greed and the removal of Personas had divided opinions on Dora.
To most, he was not only a more accessible target than the Queen, but more than anything was responsible for the destruction of the Genesis, and thus guilty of opening the Rift.
Agharita pointed her dagger at him, and Freya stood up in response.
"Freya, don’t complicate things."
"I won’t let anyone harm him, never again."
"Not even in legitim defense?"
In response, yellow and pink particles covered slowly Freya, her eyes fiercer than ever.
