Chapter 104: Accompany Him to Play

Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Accompany Him to Play

"Otherwise?"

An Yin choked up.

Seeing her constantly looking toward the movie room, Bao Shaojin asked, "Want to go in and have a look?"

An Yin really wanted to take a look but thought about how late it was and shook her head, "I have classes tomorrow, so I won’t watch."

Bao Shaojin didn’t insist.

An Yin glanced toward the end of the corridor, where there was another door. Without being nosy, she thought it might also be an entertainment room.

"If you’re hungry, go and eat something." Bao Shaojin looked at her thin little frame, his eyes darkened.

"I..." An Yin looked shy, intending to refuse.

Bao Shaojin abruptly and inexplicably said, "Be careful not to choke."

Because she often injured herself, he couldn’t help but remind her.

In An Yin’s heart, it felt humiliating.

Originally, she hadn’t planned on eating this late, but now, feeling aggrieved, she stomped angrily toward the hall. Seeing the fruit on the coffee table, she picked up bright red cherries without saying a word, eating one after another, enjoying them immensely.

Bao Shaojin followed behind her, watching her childish actions, his lips that had been tightly pressed together forming a slight upward curve.

This girl sure has a stubborn temper!

An Yin stood by the coffee table, and after eating more than a dozen cherries, her hand that was reaching for the fruit slowed down. Gradually realizing her actions carried a hint of defiance, her face changed slightly, flushing pink, looking charmingly delicate.

Just then, Bao Shaojin’s phone rang.

He glanced at the girl’s face, noticing her cheeks puffed up slightly from eating, resembling a little pufferfish, adorably amusing.

In a leisurely manner, he took out his phone, with the words "Su Nan" flashing white on the screen.

No need to guess, Bao Shaojin knew what Su Nan wanted to say. He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window with his phone and answered the call.

"Big brother, why can’t you come over? I heard from the people below that you’re at ’Qin Land’ right now." Su Nan lowered his voice, clearly making the call behind someone’s back.

"I’m busy," Bao Shaojin stated firmly.

Su Nan caught the implication in his words and couldn’t help but be curious, "So, what’s keeping you?"

"What’s the Meng Family’s stance?" Bao Shaojin suddenly changed the subject.

Su Nan paused briefly, his tone suddenly defeated, "This guy is always changing the subject, it seems that plot isn’t just attracting our attention; others want a share too."

"Play along with him for now." Bao Shaojin’s eyes were obscure.

The floor-length curtains were drawn open, and standing atop the building, he looked down at the scattered lights below, everything seemed so small.

Play along?

Hearing Bao Shaojin’s words, Su Nan felt miserable.

If the Young Master Meng’s tastes were similar to his, perhaps he could play along, just providing beauties and fine wine would suffice. But the man was annoyingly proper, even buttoning his collar all the way up. Su Nan had the illusion that this Meng Family’s Eldest Young Master’s eccentricities might not be any less than his big brother’s!

After all, within their circle, some of Bao Shaojin’s habits were completely different from others. Su Nan held the phone, speechless and choking with emotion.

"Okay, big brother!" Su Nan tearfully accepted the difficult task.

Before he could complain, the call was ruthlessly hung up, causing Su Nan’s heartache!

After hanging up, Bao Shaojin casually slipped the phone into his pocket and turned around to find the girl had already eaten the entire plate of cherries.

Worried she might overeat, Bao Shaojin frowned tightly, "Go to sleep."

An Yin dared not oppose him any further, obediently turning around and heading toward the bedroom he pointed out.

She walked quickly, eager to vanish from his sight in an instant.

Bao Shaojin didn’t linger in the hall either, walking in An Yin’s direction, through the corridor, to the very end. He pushed open the door and entered.

That night, An Yin slept fitfully, vaguely feeling a bloated pain in her stomach. She tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

Until just past three in the morning, she reached out and wiped the fine sweat from her forehead, her hand felt wet. The dim lamp at the bedside had never been turned off; arriving in a strange place, she couldn’t sleep with the lights off.

Enduring the pain, An Yin propped herself up, trying to sit before realizing the pain in her abdomen was growing worse. She could only lie on her side, clutching her stomach.

In the unfamiliar environment, coupled with her discomfort, gradually her clear pupils filled with a thin layer of water mist, swirling within her eyes.

An Yin sniffled, trying to hold back the sour grievance in her heart, but tears uncooperatively fell drop by drop, staining the white pillow, the pillowcase soaked as the traces of tears spread wider.

Whimper...

Finally unable to endure the pain, An Yin clenched her fists, supporting herself as she moved toward the edge of the bed. The pain robbed her of the ability to think, and she didn’t care about putting on a coat. She weakly moved, holding onto the bed, standing up. Seeing the door not far away, she tottered toward it, her swaying steps looking extremely worrying.

Fortunately, she finally grasped the door handle and turned it to open the door.

The corridor’s sensor lights brightened instantly.

An Yin supported herself against the wall with one hand, clutching her stomach with the other, struggling to call out, "Bao Shaojin."

"Bao... Shaojin."

"Stomach hurts."

Her voice was weak, forgetting she usually called him "Shaojin-ge."

Waves of spasmodic cramps hit, causing An Yin to crouch in pain, her whole body drenched, a piercing chill sweeping over her, making her bend her body, wishing she could curl into a ball.

"Whimper... Bao Shaojin..."

"Help..." Before she could finish saying "help," there was a soft sound of the door being pushed open.

An Yin was too weak to lift her head, mumbling without noticing Bao Shaojin appeared in front of her wearing only a dark blue robe.

Bao Shaojin immediately saw the girl on the ground.

With her head buried in her knees, murmuring something he couldn’t hear. The only thing clear was that she was not in a good state.

He quickly stepped forward, crouching down, "What’s wrong?" His hand reached to pat her shoulder, and in the next second, the girl’s whole body, like a feather-light cotton pillow, tipped toward him...

Bao Shaojin instinctively extended both hands, catching her frail body.

At this point, An Yin’s head naturally tilted back.

Her pale complexion fell into Bao Shaojin’s eyes, along with the beads of sweat on her forehead. Seeing her like this, Bao Shaojin knew the situation was dire.

Without further thought, Bao Shaojin lifted her in his arms, a serious expression on his face as he headed for the hall. At the door, he looked solemnly at the electronic screen and gave a few instructions.

By the time he took the private elevator down, Assistant Lin was already waiting there.

"Mr. Bao!" Assistant Lin greeted respectfully.

Bao Shaojin’s forehead furrowed slightly, forming a shallow crease barely noticeable without close inspection.
