Chapter 103: Chapter 103 Heartless and Unfeeling
"Follow me."
Seeing her aloof attitude, Bao Shaojin quietly glanced at her with his dark eyes.
An Yin murmured softly, "Where are we going?"
"Aren’t you brave?" Bao Shaojin’s words were clear and forceful.
To An Yin, it was full of sarcasm.
He walked lightly ahead, while An Yin took out her phone and glanced at it. The dormitory was already locked at this time, and she would have to find a place to sleep outside tonight. She bowed her head, looking very troubled.
As they walked out of the private room, the manager was already waiting outside.
"Mr. Bao." Manager Liu remained well-behaved and respectful.
"Have someone send some desserts and fruit to my room," Bao Shaojin said, lifting his eyebrows slightly and speaking in a calm voice.
"Alright."
Manager Liu nodded, gesturing to the attendant behind him, who understood and quietly left.
From Mr. Bao’s words, Manager Liu understood that Mr. Bao was planning to stay overnight at "Qin Land" and he wasn’t surprised since the entire top floor was Mr. Bao’s private domain.
Manager Liu led the two of them to take a private elevator straight to the top floor.
Inside the elevator, the warm lights illuminated the entire space.
The overly quiet atmosphere made An Yin feel weary, and she couldn’t help but yawn. She quickly covered her mouth with her hand as a sense of drowsiness overcame her.
With her charming and naive manner, Bao Shaojin saw it all clearly in the elevator’s mirror. She seemed like a small camel traveling alone through the desert, forcing herself to stay awake despite clearly wanting to sleep.
"Ding..."
The elevator arrived, and Manager Liu walked out first, holding his hand invitingly by the elevator, allowing the people inside to exit.
Bao Shaojin walked ahead, while An Yin eyed the surroundings with her clear eyes.
Polished walls and carpeted floors spread in all directions. Every ornament and wall decoration exuded opulence.
An Yin could distinctly feel that the style on this floor was completely different from where Su Yifeng stayed.
On this floor now, the colors leaned towards dark gray, giving a visual sense of desolation, yet it was filled with elegant style.
While An Yin was observing the surroundings, Manager Liu, walking ahead, spoke, "Mr. Bao, please enter!"
Bao Shaojin stood at the door, which slowly opened.
An Yin stood by his side, staring at the door and noticed a small screen. She stood in place, full of curiosity, "What is this?" An Yin asked, pointing to the electronic screen on the door.
"A facial recognition system," Manager Liu explained with a smile.
The young girl asked questions without hesitation, like a curious kitten, unlike those gold-digging women who pretend to understand when encountering high-tech things in "Qin Land," taking their vanity to the extreme. Since she was the woman of a wealthy young man, Manager Liu wouldn’t point it out.
However, he noticed that the pure look on the young girl’s delicate face was without a trace of pretentiousness. Being in his position, having encountered many women, Manager Liu prided himself on his judgment in reading people.
"How advanced!" An Yin exclaimed, staring at the electronic screen in awe!
Seeing her naive and radiant expression, the usually reserved Manager Liu couldn’t help but continue to share, "This electronic device also has other uses."
"What?" An Yin’s interest surged, even her sleepiness faded a bit, as she stood at the door chatting with Manager Liu.
"It can..."
"An Yin!"
A deep, slightly hoarse voice came from inside, interrupting their conversation.
Manager Liu shivered internally, looking at the young girl, "Miss An, please enter!"
"Oh." An Yin’s curiosity was piqued yet she didn’t receive an answer, feeling as if a stone pressed down on her heart, making her uncomfortable.
As soon as she entered, the door automatically closed, isolating Manager Liu outside as well.
With the door closed, An Yin’s heart began to beat faster; she found that in the vast hall, only she and Bao Shaojin were left.
An Yin remained silent, blinking her eyes to take in the impressive interior—tall ceilings, and top-notch crystal chandeliers emanating the grandeur of the owner.
A quick survey of the room revealed fully furnished spaces with a comfortable sofa at the center. Near the window was a row of wine cabinets beside large floor-to-ceiling windows that filled the room with natural light.
In the corner, several art pieces were placed, not that An Yin understood them, but as an outsider, she could vaguely tell their prices might be immeasurable, adding unparalleled luxury to the whole space.
Bao Shaojin stood by the sofa and turned to look at her.
He had noticed earlier how she stood outside chatting freely. It made him uncomfortable as she showed a wary demeanor when with him, yet with strangers, she had a different face.
This double standard was irritating!
The young girl was carefree and hadn’t realized it at all.
"Stay here tonight, and I’ll take you to school in the morning!" Bao Shaojin’s tone was domineering, leaving no room for negotiation.
"No..." An Yin refuted without thinking, and when she uttered the first word, she realized her agitation. She swallowed nervously and, after calming down slightly, said softly, "No need, I’ll take a taxi to get a room at a hotel near the school!"
As she spoke, her voice was gentle and soft, soothing like the Wu dialect, making Bao Shaojin tense up!
"Are you afraid of me?" Bao Shaojin stood straight, his cold eyes fixating on her.
Across a long distance, An Yin felt a chill down her spine. She shook her head like a rattle, unwilling to admit, "Not afraid, not afraid!"
With your fierce look, could I dare to tell the truth? An Yin thought indignantly.
"Then stay." Bao Shaojin’s patience was running thin, and to ease the young girl’s mind, he added, "If you need anything, press the intercom remote on the table and have it brought over."
Bao Shaojin’s gaze fell on the remote on the coffee table.
"I need nothing!"
Following his line of sight, An Yin noticed it too, and she also saw the table filled with various fresh fruits and desserts... An Yin recalled when he instructed Manager Liu. Were these prepared for her to eat?
Or was it he who wanted to eat?
An Yin immediately dismissed the latter possibility, unable to imagine this big man having desserts!
"Would you like to see the room now?" Bao Shaojin suggested.
"Okay." An Yin paused.
The two walked, one in front of the other, down the corridor to a door where Bao Shaojin stopped, "You’ll stay in this room."
"Oh." An Yin nodded and glanced at the corridor. She noticed another room next to where she would be staying, wondering if it was his room.
Following her gaze, Bao Shaojin said, "That’s the movie room."
"For watching movies?" An Yin looked up, her bright eyes meeting his.
