Chapter 115: Who is she?
Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Who is she?
"You...you..." Evelyn stammered, her voice shaking with anger as she kept her intense gaze on her. She jutted her finger out to point at Serena directly, shock and rage still evident on her face. "You bitch!" She cussed loudly, her high-pitched voice sliced through the tension lingering in the air between us.
"How could a low life person like you slap me?!" She continued to shriek, emphasising on the last word that left her lips. "Ugh, this is unbelievable!" She stomped her foot on the ground like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
"Exactly," the man chimed in this time in support of his friend as everyone continued to watch the scene unravel before their eyes like it was some drama they were watching on the television. "Do you know who she is? She is the only daughter of the Lloyd’s family! Offend her and your life is over!" He warned, his voice heavy with a threat.
Serena kept her gaze steady, adrenaline pumping in every single vein inside of her as she clenched her jaw tightly. "I’m not afraid," she declared, her voice remained steady, and her eyes remained on Evelyn’s face. "I have nothing to lose."
A chuckle left Evelyn’s parted lips, the anger in her eyes was replaced with a knowing look.
"Nothing to lose? Are you sure?" She questioned with a raised brow as she stepped forward, closing the gap between them. She stopped right in front of her and I watched as her gaze flickered down to look at Serena’s two daughters who were hiding behind their mother. The corners of her lips twisted upwards into a sinister smirk. "What about them? Are you still not afraid?" She taunted.
Within the next second, Serena’s eyes widened with horror and fear. She grabbed her kids in her arms, pushing them away from Evelyn. "Don’t you dare touch my daughters," she demanded through gritted teeth.
Evelyn scrunched up her nose in disgust as she sneered with a disdainful scorn. "Don’t you dare tell me what to do."
Her words snapped me back to reality and a surge of anger rushed through my body at that instant. One thing for sure was that I would not stand any threats directed to children.
I lifted my head to look at her with a deep frown etched onto my face. "What did you just say? Are you threatening her with her daughters?"
Evelyn crossed her arms over her chest and looked at me with a smug expression that was plastered across her face. She strutted over towards me. "So what if I am?" She replied arrogantly as the smirk on her face widened.
"I will put your ass behind bars," I snarled, my voice cold and icy as I glared at her and clenched my fists tightly beside my body.
Another mocking laughter escaped from her lips once again. "You think you can put me behind bars? I would love to see you try," she hissed, her voice full of arrogance. "My parents will hire the best lawyers for me and they can bail me out of jail anytime. You can’t do anything to me, Aurelia."
A cold chuckle erupted from my throat.
"Do you really think I can’t do anything to you at all? You have gravely mistaken," I retorted as my voice remained unwavering and I never once tore my eyes away from her. I looked up at the CCTV at the corner of the studio before I looked back to meet her gaze. "You have a CCTV right there," I pointed out.
A frown crept onto her face as she furrowed her brows together, a confused expression flashed past her eyes for a fleeting moment. "What about it?"
"I have the evidence of you threatening Serena and her children."
She laughed upon hearing the words that left my mouth. "What makes you think I will hand it over? Do you think I am stupid?" She turned around and her eyes swept across the people around us. "You guys saw that the children destroyed my studio right? I didn’t do anything unreasonable right? I didn’t threaten anyone now did I?"
The people stayed silent, their eyes darting around anxiously, not knowing what to do or say. Only her friend quickly agreed in support of her.
"Yes, I saw them destroy your studio. You were only giving them a warning, it is perfectly reasonable," the man said with a slight smile etched onto his face.
A smirk tugged at her lips. "Exactly, thank you, Peter."
"Don’t be thanking him too soon," a familiar deep voice pierced through the air and reached my ears. My eyes lit up in an instant and I looked over to find myself looking right at Xavier who was standing by the entrance.
I didn’t notice it earlier, nor did I know how long he had been standing there for. Despite knowing that he was supposed to come join us, I still watched with a surprise expression as he walked over with his phone in his hand.
Evelyn and the man whipped their heads around and their eyes fell on him.
"Who is he...?" The man murmured under his breath.
"Xavier..." His name left her lips. She rested her hand on his chest sensually as she looked up into his eyes with doe eyes, a soft chuckle left her lips. "What are you talking about?"
He stared down at her and his gaze hardened as he reached up to push her hand off his chest. He let out a scoff. "I have been standing there for a while now," he started. "I heard and recorded everything that you have said.... Even the exact moment when you threatened the mother and her kids," he revealed and a gasp erupted from the people.
Evelyn’s eyes widened and realisation dawned upon her. Without saying another word, she leaned forward and tried to snatch the phone out of his grip but to no avail.
"Give me your phone!" she demanded. "You better delete that," she warned.
"No, why would I?"
"She told you to give her the damn phone!" The man’s voice boomed loudly, echoing in the studio as anger was clearly written all over his face. Without a single warning, I watched as he leapt forward trying to grab the phone from Xavier.
"Xavier, watch out!" I found myself yelling out loud in panic, a flustered look crossed my face when I realised what was happening.
The words barely left the tip of my tongue when Xavier immediately stopped him by grabbing him by his forearm. He held him in a tight grip, his fingernails digging into his flesh as he twisted the man’s arm behind his back, causing him to let out a yelp.
The man grimaced in pain and shock. "What the hell! Let go of me!" He demanded as his cheeks were now flushed red, probably from the anger and also embarrassment.
Xavier only further tightened his hold on the man, a cold expression sitting on his face as he tucked his phone into his pocket. Only then did he let go of the man. "Trying anything funny again and you will be walking away with a dislocated shoulder," he warned this time, spitting the words out like they were poison in his mouth.
The man’s eyes widened in anger. "You! You will pay for this."
Unfazed by the man’s threat, Xavier leaned closer towards him, their faces now dangerously close to one another. He narrowed his eyes into thin slits as he stared into his eyes with an intense look swirling in the depths of his dark eyes.
He scoffed. "Realistically, you can’t do anything at all."
The man chuckled. "Don’t speak too soon. You don’t know what I can do, you don’t know what I am capable of."
Xavier’s lips curved upwards into a smirk. "Well, show me then. I would love to see what you are so capable of doing."

Standing at the front porch to Serena’s house, she turned to look at me with a grateful look in her eyes as she let a smile graced her lips.
"Thank you for standing up for me and my daughters earlier."
A smile fell on my face. "Of course, that’s what friends are for right? And, thank you for defending me too. It was unexpected but also satisfying watching you slap her across her face," I said and a soft laughter left our parted lips.
"Well, although the day didn’t go as planned, but, thank you for today." She squatted down so that she was the same height as her children. She turned to them with a smile still on her lips. "Say bye bye to Auntie Aurelia."
"Bye...bye..." they muttered with a cheeky smile, barely able to pronounce the words properly as they waved their tiny hands at me and I waved back with a grin.
Serena stood back up and pulled me into a quick hug. "See you again, sometime soon."
She unlocked the door and pushed it open but when she saw her husband sitting on the couch watching the television, her face fell immediately and the smile faded in the next second.
He turned to look at us, his brows immediately furrowed together to form a slight frown.
"Who is she?"
