Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential -
Chapter 165: Ranking Up (1)
Chapter 165: Ranking Up (1)
John, Azelis, and Jibril went to an island filled with Monsters 278 kilometers away from the Nexus City.
Jibril was fighting on her own elsewhere, with one of Azelis’s monsters watching over her.
On the other hand, John held a challenge for his Monsters.
"Alright, this is a challenge. You all have trained hard, so it’s time to show the results," John said as he looked at three Monsters in front of him. "After this, it’s time for you three to evolve."
Alfred howled, ready for any challenge with his dignified expression in the middle head, excited expression in the left head, and cold, calculating stillness in the right head.
Pymon shrilled with intensity, his massive Roc wings spreading wide as he flew up, thrilled.
Rexion was excited and hyper, jumping from side to side.
All of them were excited for some real-life and death battles because it had been a while since they had fought for kill.
Levi, on the other hand, tilted her head as if saying, What about me?

"Your turn is later. I just did Gene Potential Burst for you to awaken that Dread Eater, so we’ll go and fight stronger Monsters later because you are at the peak of King-rank."
Levi’s eight eyes blinked and she nodded.
"Now, first one to take on the challenge Alfred. Let’s go, buddy."
Azelis had removed a good chunk of trees to create a 200-meter radius open ground for battle.
Alfred arrived in the center of the ground while Rexion and Levi stood nearby John, alongside Crocky, Sony, Merc, Cheron, and Ophis.
Pymon flew around above the ground, playing with Starry and the kids—Roby, Toby, Coby, though the kids were also Gold-rank now, but not at the peak since John hadn’t given stat-increasing fruits to any monster as it was better they increase their all stats by absorbing soul cores.
As Alfred waited in the center, ten seconds later, the challenge arrived, carried within Azelis’s Windbloom Sphere.
A total of five peak Gold-rank Monsters.
Witchgloom Farseer Crane
Bloodvault Warhowler Boar
Duskmire Oracle Toad
Mycoscourge Lantern Behemoth
Stormborn Relic Warsteed
As the five Gold-rank Monsters were released from the sphere, the dark purple Crane flew up, but a barrier appeared around the 200-meter ground, preventing it from leaving.
Alfred’s three heads howled with fighting spirit, attracting the attention of the five Monsters.
[Pet Name]: Omenlord Ruinwoed Cerberus — Alfred
[Attributes]: Darkblood / Ruin / Omenfrost.

[Talents]:
—> Double Team.
—> Deathless Trinity.
As the five monsters turned to him, Alfred surged into motion.
Ruinfang Collapse + Ominous Stare
Ruin sigils ignited beneath him in a growing spiral, and the ground cracked as twin scythes of frosted ruin lashed outward in a cross pattern. The Bloodvault Warhowler Boar charged straight in—blind with bloodlust—and got caught dead center.
Its tusks were shattered.
Its left flank erupted in blackened frost.
It staggered—and Alfred moved, his vitality lowering as he reduced it himself to 50%, and used the extracted vitality into Darkblood.
He split.
One Alfred became two—[Talent: Double Team], as it required him to be at 50% of health.
Two Alfreds raced forward—mirrored, flawless.
The Crane cried out, releasing a spray of hex-glimmers downward.
The Duskmire Oracle Toad croaked, releasing dream gas, thick and violet, warping the ground into sludge.
The Mycoscourge Behemoth unleashed spores like falling stars.
The Stormborn Warsteed neighed and summoned a crackling lance of charged ether, ready to drive it through Alfred’s core.
But the center Alfred vanished—[Movement Skill: Blacklaced Red Line]
Only a flickering red mirage remained in his place, which exploded from the crane’s attack, resulting in a rebound attack as a crimson-black whip shot at the Boar whose attack struck the mirage first.
Then—
Trinehead Beam + Ruin Rain
All three heads reappeared, hovering unnaturally above the Crane.
Three ruin beams carved downward—dark, curved, and precise.
Boom. Boom. BOOM.
The Crane’s wing twisted and pierced through. It spiraled downward, dragged by beams that now rained shrapnels of ruin glyphs across the arena.
The Toad blinked its oversized eyes—then froze.
Its tongue half-extended.
Its skin cracked like glass.
But the other Alfred, who had the same stats as the original, made a move.
Omenfrost Coffin + Spiraling Burst]
From beneath the toad, cold rose like death, impaling it in five places, and freezing in a black patterned blue frost. Then came the burst—shards exploding outward in spiral arcs, slicing across the Behemoth’s underbelly and catching the Stormborn Warsteed off guard.
Though Alfred’s double was impaled by the warsteed’s lightning lance that was launched, shattering its mirage core as it vanished.
The real Alfred slammed down from above, three heads glowing.
Glacial Ruinveil Mantle!
A layer of flickering frost, pulsing with dark red and purple patterns appeared, creating a defensive cover.
Boom!
Slamming right onto the behemoth, Alfred used the combo move—Crimson Umbral Bloom.
The defensive layer bloomed like a flower of death, and shot destructive petals that homed towards the Monsters.
The Behemoth’s front limbs were severed.
The Warsteed’s helm shattered.
Even the Crane, trying to rise, lost its throat to a trailing omen scythe of frost.
The Boar, barely alive, staggered into a charge again—desperate, roaring.
Alfred turned with measured grace.
Middle head: cold.
Left head: grinning widely.
Right head: blinkless, locked on.
He walked toward the Boar.
Every step froze the blood in the air as Alfred used pure attribute mastery to weave dread.
His fur shimmered with spectral ruin glyphs and crimson petals of frost bloomed outward with every step. The battlefield dimmed. Even light seemed afraid.
The Boar collapsed mid-charge, trembling, not from pain—
—but from pure dread.
Alfred bit down, all three heads pulling out a chunk and gulping them.
End.
John chuckled. "Well, Deathless Trinity didn’t even activate once."
Deathless Trinity was the new innate talent that Alfred gained from the latest Gene Potential Burst. The previous one he did gave a powerful skill instead.
Deathless Trinity scaled more towards the Darkblood attribute. Its effect was simple—even if Alfred lost one of his heads, he could regenerate it.
The only way to kill Alfred was to sever all three heads.
"Howl!"
Alfred howled, heart racing, and thrilled as the battle might have been quick and one-sided, but it was only because Alfred went all out.
Alfred’s combat ability was superior, and so were his attributes, but against five Monsters with the same soul power and physical stats, a single mistake could cost a lot.
"Congrats, buddy. You fought great."
The monsters cheered loudly.
"Now then, while Azelis is getting monsters for the next challenge, let’s choose your evolution. Your Gene Potential is full, too."
John looked at the possible evolution paths.
1. Thrice-Fanged Eclipse Tyrant — Ruin / Darkblood / Eclipsed Ice.
2. Cataclysm Dreadking Cerberian — Ruinlaw / Darkblood / Doomfrost.
3. Apocryon Crowned Gravehound — Ruin / Omenfrost / Tombsong.
4. Frostborne Erasure Hound King — Darkblood / Ruin / Whitefrost.

[A/N: Well, you both can’t choose Alfred’s evolution, so I hope one of you has a different desire to choose the evolution form of either Pymon or Rexion.]
