Overlord Tamer: All My Pet Monsters Have God Potential -
Chapter 142: Applications of Space and Gravity
Chapter 142: Applications of Space and Gravity
Nexus City Island was very big, roughly 300 kilometers in diameter. The city part of the island was in the center, while the main bases of the eleven forces were a distance away from the city.
John was leisurely flying alongside the ship as it flew towards the city from the Duraian Family estate.
Watching flying like that, Kenil, Reena, and the other four could only magic whisper to each other.
’Space and Gravity...is there anyone luckier than him?’
’True. To think a sixteen-year-old would have an affinity with Space and Gravity...’
’Since he did defeat that asshole Rakin, he must not be bad at combat.’
’Rakin is Tier-2 trash,’ the blond-haired guy in the group said with a snort. ’He stayed Silver-rank and went to Ouroboros Hall because he knew he wasn’t a match for other peers his age.’
’Haha, that’s right. I remember defeating him easily when I was at the peak of Silver-rank a month ago, like him,’ the light-brown-haired girl in the group who was mid-stage in Gold-rank said with a chuckle.
( Mid-stage just means her physical stats and Soul power are somewhere in the middle of 501 - 1000 for Soul power, and 100 - 250 for physical stats )
The city was 100 kilometers away from the estate, and the ship’s speed was 120 kilometers per hour.
While the Duraian kids were talking among themselves, John was having fun controlling Space and Gravity simultaneously to fly.
With his Space Mastery reaching level 2, John acquired higher control of atmospheric space and the conversion of his soul energy to Space Matter became more efficient.
To him, he could automatically see a different layer of the world when he acquired Space Mastery Level 1.
The visual range of this world scaled with his soul power. At his current 501 soul pond of Gold-rank, the visual range of Space World, as he termed it, was 50.1 meters radius.
Within 50.1 meters of him, John could consume a bit of soul energy to exchange his position with another point in space.
Meaning, his teleportation range was 51. meters.
But that was at Space Mastery level 1.
And since his Space Mastery reached level 2, his range has increased to a 100-meter radius.
And since his Space Mastery reached level 2, his Starlight Rider’s range increased from 300 meters to 350 meters.
On top of that, his increased control of space at level 2 now allowed him to use Space Matter in a flexible way.
Space Matter was the physical representation of space attributes.
John could feel it everywhere. If he decided, he could make a certain part of space matter around him solid and stand on it.
He could also make the space around him behave like wind and carry him forward, which was exactly the thing he did at first to fly alongside the ship, though he was flying in a completely different since since the last fifteen minutes.
"Hey, did you notice something?" Kenil elbowed his sister as he looked at John, who sat cross-legged in the air and flew alongside the ship.
"It’s been almost minutes, and he is flying at the same speed as the ship."
"So what? He must be using Gold Essence Coins to refill his soul energy." Reena rolled her eyes.
"No, I mean, look at his position. He’s been at the exact point in position forever. It’s like he is attached to the ship."
Indeed. John had created a spatial anchor with the ship and designed a chair of space matter with a wavy mechanism for comfort, so he could meditate and train in Gravity and Space while using the ship’s movement itself to fly.
So in simple terms, he wasn’t flying on his own, but he had just attached a spatial seat to the ship and sat on it, training.
And now, John was ready to conduct an experiment.
Opening his eyes, he looked at the group on the ship’s deck.
"If you don’t mind, can I speed up the ship for a few seconds?" John asked, enhancing his voice with soul energy so they could hear him.
"Speed it up? What are you going to do?" Kenil responded in the same manner as he raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"I’m just going to use Gravity and Space together to push the ship."
"Do it," Reena said. "But don’t damage the ship."
"If it’s damaged, I’ll pay to fix it," John said with a grin before he vanished from his spot and arrived on the ship in a blink.
"It could be a bit bumpy at first," John said as he stretched his arms and opened his palms, using his body to better control the move he was going to make.
At Gravity Mastery level 1, John had confirmed the following application he could do so far:
—> Apply local gravity force, meaning he could increase or decrease the weight of an object.
—> Applying the force of pull and push relative to a point of center.
So, John first targeted the ship, lowering its gravity force as it suddenly began flying faster while going upward.
The six kids on the ship were startled, but they quickly held up and prevented themselves from falling.
"That was it? Not enough to call it bumpy," the green-haired guy in the group with a slim physique said as scoffed with a smile.
He was one of the four peak Gold-rank Tamers, Davin Duraian.
"The speed increased, but not much. Was that all?" Kenil looked at John.
John rubbed his palms as if he wasn’t interested in their talks and said, "Alright, I am starting now."
"What?"
"So what was that just now?"
John established a point right behind the ship and applied as much push force as he could.
In the next moment, the flying ship was suddenly pushed forward so strongly, which was even more enhanced due to the gravity on the ship being low.
Everyone on deck was violently pushed back, but John anchored everyone’s position in the same space as the ship, making it so that everyone moved alongside the ship.
"What the..."
The ship broke the sound barrier and was flying crazily fast, but it started to slow down as John gradually increased the gravity of the ship.
Everyone was frozen on the deck, not moving in the slightest, as they were anchored with the ship, and they could feel something wrapped around them, encasing them.
As the ship’s speed returned to normal rather quickly, John released everyone and grinned. "Gravity and Space are awesome, eh?"
"..."
"..."
"Anyway, I think I can use both of them to fly really fast." John looked ahead while taking out some Gold Essence Coins to refill his soul energy.
Flying ahead of the ship, John set up an attraction point in front of him that moved alongside a separate space point, always keeping a fixed distance of 10 meters away from John.
So when that attraction point pulled John towards it, it also moved forward, creating another way of flying where he could maintain a constant speed.
Watching John moving forward and then slowing as they catch up to him, and then seeing him do more experiments, the group on the ship was a bit speechless.
Meanwhile, John wondered more about the application of Space regarding Space Matter and experimented.
’It looks like cutting space and doing those dangerous spatial things will require higher mastery of space.’
’And this...how strong exactly is this?’
John held a blade made of space matter.
He could create spatial objects using Space Matter, as it was like clay, but he wanted to know how tough this clay could get.
To get the answer, John created a spatial shield in front of him worth 50 soul energy and used Blood Alloy Sculpture’s pistol, shooting an exploding bullet worth 50 soul energy.
Boom!
The spatial shield shattered without much resistance.
However, it was expected because Blood Alloy Sculpture was a Soul Technique that combined Blood and Metal to create something powerful. It was a more sophisticated and refined thing than the crude spatial shield he made.
But John got the answer he wanted.
There was no need to use Space mastery for direct offensive when it was much more useful and efficient as a support power.
For instance, he could make a portal instead of a shield to deal with projectiles. Why should he defend when he could send the attack away?
Portal.
In the space layer that he could see, within his range, he could connect two points together and expand them to create two portals connected to each other.
’Hmmm, for the new gun, I think I know what I am going to do.’
After all, he had acquired a powerful growth-type treasure from Duraians—Spirit Absemenal Clay, and he was going to make a multi-mode gun with it tonight.
...
Fifteen minutes later, the ship arrived at the city’s border and entered, going straight towards the Duraian family’s mansion in the city and landing there.
People were flying in the sky, most of them were on various vehicles, while many were also flying on their Pet Monsters.
"We’ll be going on this carriage. Let’s go."
A butler soon arrived with a big carriage that had one giant peak King-rank winged horse pulling it.
The horse had an outfit of its own, and the carriage was also luxurious, both having a symbol of Duraian imprinted on them.
John ate breakfast with the group at a rather extravagant place, as the bill for the six cost them 1500 Gold Essence Coins.
But eating the food gave John five one-hour-long buffs. Three increased all three physical stats by 10, while the other three gave him a 15% stamina recovery boost and healing boost.
"Now that we are all boosted, let’s go," Kenil said as he grinned at John. "Father praised you a lot, so we are curious. You’ll show us what you got, right?"
"Anytime," John said with a carefree laugh. "Let’s go."
And so, the group arrived at Tamer’s Challenge District.
John was surprised because this part of the city had massive buildings and grounds with a lot of Pet Monsters in the open.
There were people fighting each other, and there were some special big buildings where people seemed to be competing against each other in exotic games.
"Wow, this is awesome."
[ Jibril: It’s wonderful. Wish I could join you.]
’You can, but you gotta wait a bit.’
[ Azelis: Yep. Once the plan is completed, we’ll be free to roam around outside without worry. ]
"John, do you know that there are places here where if you break the records, you can get some juicy rewards? You can also compete against others with bets and win." Reena grinned. "So, what do you want to do first? Or you can also pick a building and we’ll go there."
As she finished speaking, the roof of the carriage opened up, giving a broader view to the people inside.
"Now that sounds awesome," John said with a cheeky smile as he rubbed his hand and looked around.
"Alright, let’s go there. That seems like the biggest building in this area."
"Well, well, you really want a challenge, it seems. Fine, let’s go there."
