Chapter 431: Conflict Reaches a Boiling Point

"Get out of my way!" Emma Hart pushed the physical training teacher aside as he reached out to stop her. She gently scooped her child into her arms, being extremely careful not to hurt him.

"Tsk!" The physical training teacher shook his head, disapproving of Emma Hart’s actions. "You’re spoiling the child. This will harm him in the long run."

"Do you expect me to just stand by and watch him cry? Is that what a mother does?" Emma Hart angrily retorted.

"The child cries because he knows someone will pick him up. If you don’t, he won’t cry," the teacher argued, believing that the child’s dependency was the real issue and that he could handle the situation himself.

Emma Hart carefully lifted her child and called out towards the living room, "Mrs. Harris! Come and take Joshua and Gabriel back inside!"

"Yes, Mrs. Turner!" Mrs. Harris hurriedly ran from the kitchen, took the children, and returned to the living room.

"You! You’re unreasonable! I’ve never seen such a stubborn parent!" the physical training teacher shouted, pointing at Emma Hart in anger.

"And I’ve never seen such a cruel, abusive teacher like you!" Emma Hart shot back.

The two children, hearing the shouting, started crying loudly in the living room. Mrs. Harris, worried that the situation would worsen, stepped in to calm things down. "Mrs. Turner, please stop arguing. Look, the children are crying. Let’s discuss this calmly." She also thought the teacher’s methods were inappropriate—making toddlers practice military boxing and run was too much, especially when they could barely walk steadily.

"I don’t care. If you don’t change your teaching methods, you won’t be teaching my children anymore!" Emma Hart was adamant. Even if Damien Sterling were here, she would say the same thing. She would not allow her children to endure such trauma.

"Mrs. Turner, let me be clear. I won’t change my methods. If I recall correctly, Mr. Sterling hired me. If you want to fire me, inform him first," the teacher said arrogantly.

"Fine, I will replace you right now. Leave immediately. I will inform Mr. Sterling," Emma Hart asserted. She was not someone to be trifled with, especially when it came to her children.

"Hmph, fine, I’ll go!" The teacher, red-faced with anger, grabbed his bag from the sofa and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.

"What kind of person is that?" Mrs. Harris muttered under her breath, glancing at the departing teacher.

"Prepare something nice for the kids. They’ve suffered enough," Emma Hart instructed Mrs. Harris with a wave. The teacher had left her feeling utterly frustrated.

Shortly after the teacher left, Emma Hart received a call from Damien Sterling.

"You fired the teacher?" came the cold voice on the other end.

"Yes, I did. What about it? I’m their mother, and he went too far!" Emma Hart responded angrily.

"Emma Hart, are you trying to rebel?" Damien Sterling growled from the other end of the line.

"That was his fault. I’ll also evaluate the academic lessons later. If the content is unsatisfactory and the teacher refuses to change, I’ll send him packing too!" Emma Hart was determined to stand her ground against Damien Sterling for the sake of her children.

"If you dare to do that, just wait until I get home and deal with you!" Damien Sterling hung up the phone.

The academic teacher, who had been watching from the sidelines, was anxious. He realized that Mrs. Turner was not someone to be trifled with and decided to tone down his approach. During the class, he taught the most basic content with the sweetest smile he could muster. This approach earned him Emma Hart’s approval, allowing him to stay.

"Mr. Sterling, I’m heading out now," the teacher said as he left the Sterling family villa after the afternoon lesson. He ran into Damien Sterling at the door.

Damien acknowledged him with a nod, then quickly turned his attention to Emma Hart inside the house, walking in with determination. The teacher, feeling a shiver down his spine, hurriedly left, thinking Mrs. Turner was in for it.

When Damien Sterling arrived home, Emma Hart said nothing. She quietly tidied up the coffee table, further irritating Damien.

"Don’t you have anything to say to me?" Damien asked calmly. He hoped she would admit she was wrong and he wouldn’t have to pursue the matter further.

"I just want you to find a teacher who is kinder to the children," Emma Hart said, still cleaning up the cups on the coffee table.

"A kinder teacher may not provide them with a proper education!" Damien Sterling was firm. He was set on using the physical training teacher he had hired at great expense from the military.

Emma suddenly slammed a plastic cup onto the table and turned to Damien. "That man is just abusing the children! I can’t stand by and watch them be punished!"

"So, you really don’t want to keep him?" Damien raised an eyebrow.

"Your approach is fundamentally flawed. I can’t compromise!" Emma Hart’s hands were trembling slightly.

Damien suddenly began clapping. "Very well. If you want to challenge me, so be it. Since you don’t want to use that teacher, you’ll take over the children’s physical training. If their physical condition doesn’t meet my standards in a week, we’ll bring the teacher back."

"Your standards?" Emma Hart internally scoffed. Damien Sterling’s standards were likely more extreme than the teacher’s.

"Don’t worry, I’ll have the most reputable experts assess the children. There will be no bias," Damien assured.

"Fine, I’ll teach them. Bring it on!" Emma Hart gathered everything from the coffee table onto a tray and left the room. Damien couldn’t help but smirk at how cute she looked when she was angry.

That night, Emma Hart stayed up late researching early childhood physical education online. After Damien went to sleep, she spent the entire night crafting a training plan for the next week.

"You’ll see, big bad wolf," Emma muttered to herself in the study. She was determined to prove that Damien Sterling’s methods were wrong.
