Two weeks had passed, and during this time, Emma Hart had been visiting Riley Turner’s house almost every day to learn cooking from her. With Damien Sterling’s birthday just 24 hours away, Emma Hart, who couldn’t think of a suitable gift, decided to cook a meal for him.

"Mrs. Harris, let me handle tonight’s dinner. Since tomorrow is Mr. Sterling’s birthday, I want to celebrate a little early," Emma Hart said, thinking that a midnight birthday celebration would be particularly romantic.

Of course! The 20th—tomorrow is his birthday. He casually responded to the secretary, instructing her to prepare, then returned his attention to the surveillance footage.

Within seconds, Riley Turner replied, saying it was too complicated to explain over the phone and that she had some free time, so she could come over and help Emma in person. Emma Hart thought about it and agreed—having her teacher there in person would be much better for guidance. She sent her address to Riley Turner.

Half an hour later, the doorbell at the Sterling family villa rang. Emma Hart rushed over, thinking it must be Riley Turner. But when she opened the door, she was greeted by a chubby, pale woman with a small suitcase. "Really? Can you cook? And is there a charge?" Emma Hart asked.

Emma Hart hesitated, feeling that while this seemed like a good thing, it was better to be cautious with strangers. She politely declined the woman’s offer. The woman looked a bit embarrassed but smiled and left without saying more.

An hour later, Riley Turner arrived at her door, carrying some cake decorations.

"Thank you so much, Riley! You even brought all these supplies. Please, come in!" Emma Hart said, taking the bag full of cake decorations and inviting Riley Turner inside.

After a drink and a short rest, Riley Turner headed to the kitchen to start giving Emma Hart cooking lessons.

Back in his office, Damien Sterling returned to his desk to check on Emma Hart. To his surprise, she hadn’t accepted his help but instead had Riley Turner over. What was she thinking? His brow furrowed in confusion. Just as he was pondering this, a knock came at his office door.

"Mr. Sterling, the location setup is almost done. They’d like you to come and check," Assistant Lee said.

"Alright," Damien Sterling replied coolly, shutting down his computer and leaving the office.

"Finally done!" Emma Hart cheered, raising her arms in joy. As sunset approached, they finished their hard work, feeling a great sense of accomplishment from the delicious spread they had prepared.

"Let’s start decorating for the celebration!" Riley Turner said, pulling out various small decorations from another white bag.

"You’re so thoughtful," Emma Hart said, giving Riley Turner a big kiss. Then they called the other household staff to help.

Everything was set, and they awaited Damien Sterling’s return.

As the minutes ticked by, it was almost 8 PM, and Damien Sterling still hadn’t come home. His phone was unreachable, and Emma Hart’s mood grew heavier with each passing moment.
