Chapter 363: Parent-Child Activity

Outside the classroom of Enlightenment Class 1, the homeroom teacher stepped out to welcome the two new students.

"Joshua and Gabriel, right? Welcome!" the teacher said gently. The two toddlers, who still wobbled as they walked, had just left their cozy home.

At an age when they were just starting to talk, they were already leaving their mother behind for the sake of their future. The moment Emma Hart sent her children into the classroom, she suddenly broke into tears.

"Waah! You two are leaving mommy so soon!" Emma Hart suddenly cried out loudly.

Emma Hart’s outburst caught the attention of the teachers next door and the children in the class.

Her two precious ones initially didn’t feel much about leaving. They were merely curious about the beautiful new environment. However, seeing their mother crying so bitterly, they began to think this place might not be so good and started bawling as well.

The scene before him left Damien Sterling completely unprepared.

He had thought only the children might cry, not expecting Emma Hart to be the one leading the charge.

Realizing the situation was going south and to avoid making it to the entertainment headlines, Damien Sterling decided to pull Emma Hart away.

"Principal, teachers, we’ll leave the rest to you. We have other matters to attend to," Damien Sterling said coolly, then forcefully pulled Emma Hart away.

"No! I won’t leave! I want my kids! Don’t leave mommy!" Emma Hart crouched down to increase her strength, resisting being taken away by Damien Sterling.

Damien Sterling shook his head helplessly, then smiled apologetically at the stunned homeroom teacher and principal, his eyes conveying a silent "I’m sorry."

He tickled Emma Hart’s waist, making her laugh through her tears, then hoisted her onto his right shoulder, carrying her away while she kicked and punched his back.

After Emma Hart left, the children’s emotions gradually stabilized. The principal and the homeroom teacher distracted them with toys, and soon they were smiling sweetly again.

The teachers of Enlightenment Class 1 were the best among the entire Enlightenment series. The class originally had only three students because it was reserved for the children of high-ranking officials and wealthy merchants.

On the way to Sterling Group, Emma Hart used up an entire pack of tissues, still sobbing occasionally afterward.

"Come on, you see, they’re stronger than you. Doesn’t everyone have weekends off? How about we go on a trip this weekend? Is there somewhere you want to go?" Seeing Emma Hart crying so heartbreakingly, Damien Sterling found her both childish and endearing. He wanted to quickly change the topic and divert her attention.

"I... I’ll think about it," Emma Hart said, gulping down a mouthful of icy mineral water, her mind slowly clearing up.

"I want to do something that lets me always be with them, to play with them," Emma Hart could only think of this much, her mind filled with scenes of playing with them at home.

"Then let’s go to the parent-child park!" Damien Sterling suggested after a moment, "There’s a new one that just opened on the outskirts of City A. It should be a lot of fun."

As they hit a red light, Damien Sterling braked, kissed Emma Hart on the forehead, and rubbed her shoulders to comfort her.

The weekend arrived with perfect weather, warm but not hot. Spring’s charm was in full bloom with flowers everywhere, and the park was alive with the laughter of children and adults.

The park was located at the border of City A and City B. As previously planned, Damien Sterling took Emma Hart and the children to the parent-child park for a day of fun.

The family wore matching Disney-themed outfits. Behind them were two servants and two bodyguards in casual clothes to avoid drawing attention.

The park had a variety of attractions: boat rides on the lake, parent-child bridges, physical challenges, a merry-go-round, swings, and custom parent-child desserts, among others.

Emma Hart and the children chose the merry-go-round first.

Damien Sterling and Emma Hart each held a child on the merry-go-round. Damien held Joshua and sat in front of the others, recording the moment on his phone.

They captured many loving moments today. Before they had enough fun, Emma Hart eagerly started posting on social media.

At noon, they had a picnic on the lawn with a lunch prepared by Mrs. Harris from home.

Emma Hart hadn’t started eating herself but was busy feeding the children first. Her stomach growled, but she pretended not to hear or feel it.

Damien Sterling thought Emma Hart didn’t need to push herself so hard; feeding the kids could easily be handled by the servants. But Emma Hart insisted on feeding her precious sons herself.

In fact, they had already learned to eat by themselves at the early education center.

"Hey, isn’t that Senior Sterling and Mrs. Sterling?" a familiar voice rang out in front of them.

"Lucy Allen?" Emma Hart looked up and saw that it was indeed Damien Sterling’s junior and colleague.

Today, Lucy Allen was dressed casually, with a large sports backpack slung over her shoulder, and a shy little boy hiding behind her.

"Are you here for some fun too? And who is this?" Emma Hart asked, tilting her head curiously at the boy hiding behind Lucy.

"Oh! This is my son! Come on, introduce yourself," Lucy Allen said, gently pulling the boy out from behind her.

The boy timidly stepped out from behind his mother and said in a very soft voice, "Hello, Uncle and Auntie, my name is Daniel."

Emma Hart immediately felt a liking for the boy in front of her. Though shy, he had a determined and handsome face, likely to be an ambitious child with delicate features, rivaling those of child stars on television.

"Hello, Daniel, I’m Auntie Emma. How old are you?" Emma Hart asked warmly.

"I’m five years old," Daniel replied, his voice still very soft.

Damien Sterling sat quietly beside them, only nodding slightly when he first saw Lucy Allen. He always maintained a cold demeanor toward outsiders, which Lucy Allen was accustomed to.

"Is it just the two of you? Why don’t you join us for lunch?" Emma Hart invited.

"Oh, I wouldn’t want to intrude!" Lucy Allen hesitated, looking at Damien Sterling, "I might be bothering you."

"It’s fine, join us," Damien Sterling said coolly.

"In that case, thank you for having us," Lucy Allen said, finally feeling at ease as she and her son sat down next to Emma Hart.

Lucy Allen took out two lunch boxes from her backpack and began to eat.

Emma Hart noticed that the shirt Daniel was wearing under his jacket looked very similar to her children’s school uniform.

"Lucy, is your son attending early education classes?" Emma Hart asked.

"Yes, he’s at Ingram," Lucy Allen replied without hesitation.
