Overbearing CEO's Contract Love
Chapter 155: Button Me Up

Chapter 155: Button Me Up

The gentle sunlight, filtering through the ethereal curtains, bathes Emma Hart’s face in its warm glow.

As the sunlight caresses her, Emma opens her eyes, stretching languidly in the coziness of her room.

Her hand pats around the bedside, finding nothing but air.

Rising from the bed, Emma spots Damian Sterling wandering about the room.

He’s pulling a light blue shirt from the closet.

With a few buttons still undone, his irresistibly tempting chest peeks through.

Emma feels a drool-worthy sight first thing in the morning and can’t help but inhale sharply at the sight.

Damian is about to fasten the cufflinks on his sleeves when he catches Emma staring unabashedly.

Extending a hand, he beckons, "Come here."

Hesitantly, Emma, clad in a pink silk pajama, barefoot, steps off the bed and walks over to him.

The man approaches, his chest still provocatively exposed.

Emma feels as if she’s stepping onto the bed yet still not reaching the towering presence of Damian.

"Button me up," he commands coldly.

Emma pauses, her gaze involuntarily dropping to his chest. Is buttoning his shirt considered an early morning privilege?

Doesn’t this man have his own hands? Is he incapacitated, needing her to button up for him?

Emma tries to hide her excitement, secretly thrilled inside.

Yet, she pretends to resist, lifting her chin to declare, "I certainly will not!"

Damian looks down at Emma, a cold gaze on his face but with a mischievous smile tugging at his lips, "Is that so?"

His hand finds Emma’s delicate one, pulling her close.

Emma’s body leans forward with his pull, and she finds herself sprawled against Damian’s chest, her arms unwittingly wrapping around his sturdy waist.

In this awkward embrace, Emma leaves an accidental kiss mark on Damian’s chest.

"Button it up," he orders, his eyes deep and commanding.

Emma frowns, pretending reluctance, but her hands reach out to his chest, buttoning up his shirt one by one.

As Emma earnestly buttons up for him, Damian looks down at her, his hand gently touching her hair, indulgingly stroking as if caressing a soft, fluffy kitten.

A faint smile graces his lips.

He enjoys this version of Emma Hart, like a startled bird, a frightened little rabbit, endearingly adorable in her vulnerability.

Emma Hart finished buttoning Damian Sterling’s shirt and slid off the bed, stepping into her soft slippers and making her way to the bathroom.

As she picked up her toothbrush, she casually asked Damian, who seemed ready to head out, "Are you going out? The luggage is still outside."

Damian nodded, "I have a partnership meeting."

Emma thought she was about to enjoy a few days of freedom, assuming Damian wouldn’t pack so much for a short trip.

He must be out for at least three days this time. Emma was still happy in her heart, but Damien Sterling said over there, "You go too!"

Emma nearly swallowed her toothpaste in surprise.

"What? Who’s coming?" Emma couldn’t believe her ears. Why would he take her with him on a work trip?

"You, Emma Hart!" Damian repeated, his serious demeanor suggesting he wasn’t joking.

Emma quickly grabbed a towel, wiping off the toothpaste, and asked again, "You really want me to come?"

Damian glanced at her, clearly not interested in repeating himself.

It seemed he was serious. Emma, remembering her job, protested, "But I have work."

"Where? At that high-end club villa again?" Damian shot her a look.

"I’ve already taken care of your leave," he continued, blocking any escape. After all, the Sterling Group was his company; he could do as he pleased.

"Pack your bags; the helicopter will be here soon," he urged.

Emma sighed at his lavish ways, doubting he even knew how to ride a bike.

Reluctantly, she began packing, not particularly thrilled about the trip.

Instead of genuinely needing her for the partnership talks, it seemed more like he just wanted to keep her close.

"Why do you need me for the partnership talks?" Emma clung to a sliver of hope, wishing he’d change his mind.

Damian’s gaze, sharp and penetrating, fixed on her, silencing any further questions. Emma realized he was fed up with her talking.

The helicopter landed on the hill not far from the villa, its propellers whipping the surrounding wild grass into a frenzy.

Damien Sterling wrapped his arm around Emma Hart, pulling her close to his chest as they boarded the helicopter.

Emma, having woken up early, was disheartened by such unwelcome news and found it hard to muster any enthusiasm.

Damien, with a sidelong glance at Emma, remarked coldly, "Lost interest in the view below now, have you?"

He was clearly referencing the past. Oh, how Emma’s first helicopter ride had thrilled her! She had been so excited by the landscape below, dancing around in joy.

Emma responded indifferently, "That was before Mr. Sterling broadened my horizons."

Damien’s response was a teasingly sinister hum, dripping with sarcasm, "So, your ambitions have grown as well!"

Emma couldn’t help but marvel at the man’s chilling, bone-deep gaze that seemed to misinterpret everything.

His unique way of understanding others left Emma no choice but to admire, even if she didn’t want to continue the conversation.

Damien seemed to have important business to attend to on this trip. Upon landing, he quickly made sure Emma was settled before rushing out the door.

Emma stood in the room, watching Damien’s departing figure, wondering if he intended to just leave her there.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, Damien turned back, tossed a card to Emma, and said, "You’re allowed to go out later. Buy whatever you want."

Seeing the card Damien threw on the bed, Emma approached it with a cold expression.

Was money all he could offer? Despite her lack of interest, she picked up the card, waving it teasingly in front of Damien, "Sure, Mr. President, I’ll go out and buy a car and a house with this."

Of course, Emma wouldn’t actually do such a thing; her words were more out of spite than serious intent, frustrated by Damien’s lack of effort.

Surprisingly, Damien simply replied, "As you wish."
