Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 921 - 914: Abandon the Plan

Chapter 921: Chapter 914: Abandon the Plan

Of course, upon closer analysis, that metal automaton might not be as powerful as imagined. It was just that due to various objective and subjective limitations at the time, the combat strength of the Advance Team was restricted, which is why they were so embarrassingly defeated by her.

Even if that metal automaton was stronger, it couldn’t possibly be a match for Fulajie’er. After all, Fulajie’er is a demigod, an immortal deity. It would be easy to deal with an automaton driven by magical power, as long as one could find the right way to do it.

And the way to do so, Fulajie’er had actually found it during the recent combat. The Defense Shield she deployed could effectively interfere with and restrict the metal automaton’s movements. However, at the time, due to the limited magical power in the passage, she couldn’t absorb more magical power to interfere with the automaton’s movements.

For Fulajie’er, although she sustained no injuries in this altercation, the Advance Team had been beaten into a sorry state, which to her was a great disgrace. Therefore, she always hoped to find an opportunity to properly teach the metal automaton a lesson.

To Luo’er, now that he had seen traces of the Ancestors’ Holy Book, he would definitely not give up easily. The sooner they completed the mission, the sooner they could leave this cold, white Hell.

This time, Luo’er had to admit defeat, but thankfully, due to proper countermeasures and the enhancement of their equipment, none of the members of the Advance Team suffered overly severe or fatal injuries.

The only worrying aspect was probably Baiyue in her comatose state. As long as she could recover, it would mean the Advance Team only suffered minor injuries in this conflict.

At the exit’s staircase, Luo’er took a long sigh, whether it was out of reflection or breathlessness was unclear. He turned his head, looking back at the pitch-black passage with reluctance, and then shook his head before ascending the steps.

After climbing the stairs back to ground level, the Advance Team’s campsite was in disarray, primarily busy checking Baiyue’s condition and dressing the wounds of those with lighter injuries.

"Yue’er is okay, right?" As soon as Luo’er reached the ground level, he ran into Tangmo coming out of a tent and couldn’t help but ask.

Tangmo glanced at him and then sighed, "I have taken some emergency measures. She should be fine as long as she wakes up."

"So right now she is..." Luo’er hesitated.

"Still unconscious," Tangmo sighed again, then gently tugged at Luo’er’s sleeve in reassurance, "Don’t worry, she shouldn’t be in any danger."

"That’s good to hear." Luo’er breathed a sigh of relief, then nodded wearily.

"Your injuries..." Tangmo looked up at the bruise on his neck, reaching out with a concerned expression.

"It’s nothing, just a bruise. It will heal in time. I’m going to check on the others who are injured," Luo’er said as he prepared to walk past Tangmo.

"Aren’t you going to ask if I’ve been hurt?" Tangmo asked a bit plaintively from behind him.

"Uh, I mean, sorry..." Luo’er was startled before quickly turning around, apologizing somewhat stammeringly.

"Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. I’m fine, go check on the others," Tangmo chided with a teasing glance and then generously let it go.

"Glad to hear you’re okay," Luo’er nodded, instinctively feeling relieved.

He entered the tent where only Hu Daoke and Feng were lying on sleeping bags talking to each other, already simply bandaged. Axia was sitting in a corner, quietly talking in a low voice with a worried Eve in her arms.

"Captain!" On seeing Luo’er enter, Hu Daoke immediately became excited, "It’s great that you’re all right."

"Are you two okay?" Luo’er asked with concern.

"I’ve only got some bruises, nothing serious. Little Fengye, how about you?" Hu Daoke said and turned to look at Feng beside him.

"I’m fine," Feng looked somewhat unwell but shook her head determinedly, denying her condition.

"It’s good that there’s nothing wrong, rest well, everyone." Luo’er nodded with relief and then turned to Axia.

Noticing Luo’er’s gaze, Axia stopped chatting with Eve and looked up at Luo’er, asking, "Captain Luo’er, do you still plan to go in?"

"Uh, we’re still considering..." Luo’er pondered, unsure of what to say.

"So, are we going or not!" Axia pressed on.

"Well..." Luo’er looked down, thinking for a moment. He noticed the expression on Axia’s face, clearly trying to convey something, so he looked up at her and asked sincerely, "May I know what Aunt Axia’s opinion is?"

"My suggestion is, return the way we came!" Axia paused, then expressed her thoughts.

"What the hell, just go back the way we came, so our injuries are for nothing?" Hu Daoke couldn’t help but loudly question.

Luo’er glanced at him, then frowned at Axia. She did not avoid his gaze, looking straight back at him, and finally continued to ask, "So, Captain Luo’er disagrees with my advice?"

"This is a rare opportunity, I’ve already seen the Ancestors’ Holy Book with my own eyes, we’re so close, so I don’t want to give up just yet." Luo’er replied honestly.

"You won’t get that book," Axia shook her head, "I should say, you won’t be able to deal with the trouble inside the tomb."

"It’s just one automaton, we have the numbers, we definitely have ways to deal with her." Luo’er said.

"After dealing with her, what about the Snow God, who will deal with that?" Axia asked.

"The Snow God, it..." Luo’er involuntarily frowned, hesitating in his reply.

"You don’t think the Snow God is on our side, do you? If we continue down, it definitely won’t remain neutral," Axia asserted.

"If it’s not neutral, we’ll just take it out, simple as that," Hu Daoke said dismissively.

"Is that also Captain Luo’er’s thought?" Axia glanced at him, then looked at Luo’er with an almost mocking smile and asked.

"Uh, not considering that possibility," Luo’er pursed his lips and said through clenched teeth.

"Captain Luo’er, I feel your obsession with the Ancestors’ Holy Book has reached an insane degree, next time you go in, it won’t be as simple as a few injuries," Axia said with a hint of mockery in her expression.

"Auntie, Captain Luo’er is just trying to finish the mission sooner," Eve intervened, unable to listen any further.

Axia glanced at her, then turned her head to Luo’er and sighed deeply before speaking, "Well then, I will take you to seek other tombs to see if we can find the Ancestors’ Holy Book. Let’s not touch this tomb. In that environment, it’s impossible for us to take out two strong adversaries at the same time."

"Who knows if the next tomb will have the Ancestors’ Holy Book," Hu Daoke couldn’t help but interject.

"The next tomb belongs to the Aud nobility; generally, they will have this book, I can guarantee it!" Axia patted her chest as she spoke.

Luo’er hung his head in thought for quite a while, finally raising his head again and saying to Axia, "Alright, I agree to temporarily halt our activities here and evacuate all personnel for rest. If we don’t find the Ancestors’ Holy Book in the next tomb, we won’t rule out the possibility of returning here."

"Don’t worry, you will find what you’re looking for," Axia nodded in satisfaction.
