Chapter 791: Chapter 784: Momo’s Analysis
"Didn’t you just finish school? How did you get back so quickly?" Luoer asked.
Even without her hairpin, Luoer could recognize her. He was sensitive to a person’s aura, so even if Tangmo did nothing, he could tell whether the person was his sister or his younger sister.
"I’m asking you a question, not you asking me a question!" Tangmo squinted at him and said.
"We went out for a walk, otherwise we’d get sick from always staying here." Luoer honestly replied.
"You..." Tangmo was about to say something, but then she came up to Luoer, took a few sniffs, and her little face immediately collapsed, "I smell a stranger. What did you do?"
Seeing her angry, Luoer immediately felt a tingling scalp, fearing she would get sick again.
"We were on the street, not on the mountain. It’s normal to have the scent of strangers on us." Luoer scratched his head and said awkwardly.
"And you’re so dishonest," Tangmo frowned, staring at Luoer, "you know for yourself that I smell a woman!"
"How is your nose so sharp?" Luoer was stunned for a moment and blurted out.
"Isn’t your nose also sharp? Don’t change the subject!" Tangmo frowned and said.
"Nothing happened between us, it was just business." Seeing he couldn’t hide it, Luoer had to confess. In fact, he didn’t intend to hide it.
"What are you nervous about if it’s just business? "Tangmo narrowed her eyes and asked disapprovingly.
"It’s all because of you, you little troublemaker." Luoer said helplessly.
"I said I wouldn’t hurt you again," Tangmo said, paused, and without waiting for Luoer to speak, continued, "But I can’t guarantee I won’t hurt her!"
"You’re just like your sister, fond of eating some inexplicable vinegar." Luoer shook his head and said.
"Really just business?" Seeing Luoer silent, Tangmo asked anxiously.
"What else then, why do you never believe me?" Luoer looked at her and asked.
"I trust you, but I will still be angry. Because I like you, so if other women approach you, I will be jealous." Tangmo confessed seriously.
"I’m really scared of you." Luoer shook his head and said.
"Who is she?" Tangmo inquired.
Luoer sighed deeply, then gave a rough account of their experiences. Tangmo quietly listened to Luoer’s description, apparently not angry about Luoer’s interaction with Eve.
"Why didn’t you tell me before?" After listening to Luoer’s description, Tangmo looked at him and asked.
"It doesn’t seem like you gave me the chance to speak." Luoer said helplessly.
"Well, I’m sorry then!" Tangmo’s apology caught Luoer off guard. He didn’t expect her to be so willing to admit her mistake.
Originally, Luoer was feeling a little upset, but her apology instantly dissipated his anger. He couldn’t help but suspect that Momo had seen through his thoughts.
"Why did you suddenly run out here? Shouldn’t your sister continue studying?" After holding back for a while, Luoer couldn’t help but ask.
"I could feel you wanted me, so I begged Sister to let me come." Tangmo looked at Luoer, her face breaking into a sweet smile.
"How did you know I was looking for you?" Luoer asked, a little surprised.
"Because we’re like two souls, one heart." Tangmo said, pressing her finger to Luoer’s chest.
"Speak properly, no need for touchy-feely," Luoer interrupted her flirtation and seriously said, "Since you’re here, let’s analyze what we just encountered."
"I finally get out and now I’ve to talk about all this boring stuff." Tangmo grumbled.
"Alright, I promise to spend more time with you later. Don’t be angry now, help me analyze the situation, okay?" Luoer pleaded patiently.
"Humph!" Tangmo huffed in a satisfied manner. She was a smart woman and knew when to quit. She didn’t want Luoer to be annoyed by her persistence.
With her smile gone, Tangmo pondered for a moment, furrowed her eyebrows, and seriously said, "When we analyze, we should look at the whole picture, not just parts of it. If we only analyze this series of events you encountered, we’d rack our brains to no avail. The best way is to analyze from a holistic perspective."
"Go on, let’s hear what you think." Luoer nodded in approval. He did indeed feel like he was in Lu Mountain without seeing the true face of it.
"You only analyzed the reason why Intelligence Agency is after Eve from the ground level, without considering the high level," Tangmo spoke after a pause, "If I were in the upper echelons of the Intelligence Agency, we must understand what the headquarters currently needs, what they’re planning to do, and then react accordingly."
"Our current mission is to open the Otherworld Gate." Luoer added.
"Exactly, opening the Otherworld Gate is their top priority. So, if I were a higher-up in the Intelligence Agency, I’d try to disrupt the headquarters’ plans. Fu’en’s importance lies in his knowledge of how to open the Otherworld Gate. With his death, the headquarters must find a new way to open the Otherworld Gate. They will surely send an Advance Team to Otherworld to seek the method," Tangmo nodded as she spoke.
"What does this have to do with Eve being hunted, given she doesn’t know the method to open the Otherworld Gate?" Luoer asked, furrowing his brows.
Opening the Otherworld Gate is a systematic process, requiring a professional guide and a large number of talents as assistance. Luoer has seen the opening process of the Otherworld Gate from Lipei, so he believed that Eve shouldn’t know how to do it, otherwise, she wouldn’t be in her current state.
Opening the Otherworld Gate requires extensive knowledge about magic, judging from his interaction with Eve, she didn’t seem to know magic. Not every magician can master the way to open the Otherworld Gate, but those who can, definitely know magic.
"By rights, after getting rid of Fu’en, the headquarters should have lost their chance to open the Otherworld Gate, which should be enough. Why would they still be preparing for a backup plan and even sending people to kill the ignorant Eve?" Tangmo asked, turning to Luoer.
"You’re saying..."
"There’s only one explanation, that Eve’s life or death has a significant relationship with the opening of the Otherworld Gate. Considering what you said earlier, the problem might lie with the Ancient Scripture." Tangmo analyzed.
"The Ancient Scripture..." Luoer hesitated.
"You mentioned earlier that Eve helped Fu’en steal the Ancient Scripture from an ancient tomb, and then Fu’en mastered the way to open the Otherworld Gate. We may not know if he learned to open the Gate before or after obtaining the Ancient Scripture. But let’s make a bold assumption that Fu’en probably learned the opening method from the Ancient Scripture." Tangmo continued.
"Then most of the puzzling parts are answered. The reason Intelligence Agency is relentless towards Eve even after Fu’en’s death is probably because she led Fu’en to the Ancient Scripture. Hence, killing Fu’en isn’t enough, they have to get rid of her to completely finish this." Tangmo said.
"In that case, have we not already found a way to open the Otherworld Gate?" Luoer asked, somewhat excitedly.
"It’s just an assumption, who knows if the Intelligence Agency just lost their minds and decided to pursue Eve without sparing any cost." Tangmo shrugged as she spoke.
"Anyhow, we accept what the enemy is against, since we now have some methods to open the Otherworld Gate, we can’t give up." Luoer declared.
"You plan to bring that Eve back?" Tangmo asked with a serious face.
"Of course, staying in the academy is safer than staying in the East District." Luoer answered truthfully.
