"Received!" Hu Daoke nodded and then squatted next to Luoer, starting to unload the magazine from his rifle.

"Feng and Fula, keep watch at the entrance. You two, follow me inside." Luoer said, leading the way into the shed.

Upon entering the shed, Luoer spent some time adjusting to the dim interior. The Booze Ghost Gang member was tightly bound and thrown into a corner, trembling fearfully. His eyes were blindfolded, so he could only perceive his surroundings through sound.

Inside the room, the glow of the Magic Crystal had not yet dissipated. Combined with the oil lamp, at least some things were barely visible. Despite their small size, these Magic Crystal Lamps had enough magic power to stay lit for about a day.

Upon hearing the noise Luoer made when he entered, the Booze Ghost Gang member shivered and immediately became nervous. Luoer casually leaned against a corner, leisurely sizing him up before finally asking, "Are you part of the Booze Ghost Gang?"

"What Booze Ghost Gang?" the captured gang member cautiously said.

"My patience has its limits, don’t push your luck. When I get angry, nothing you say will matter." Luoer said indifferently.

Luoer’s words left the gang member silent and after a while, he nervously asked, "Who are you?"

"I’m the one asking questions here, not you. You seem to forget your place. You don’t seem to comprehend that you are a hostage." Luoer said as he drew his handgun from his waist, checked it, and then cocked it with the magazine removed.

The sound of bullets being loaded made the opponent shiver, and his previously calm expression instantly turned to one of sheer terror.

As a member of the special forces, Luoer had plenty of interrogation experience, and his success rate was quite good. Even if the gang member continued to resist, Luoer had methods to make him talk.

When facing enemies, Luoer could be described as a Smiling Tiger, wearing a genial smile but radiating an overwhelming killing intent, suffocating enough to nearly stop onlookers from breathing.

"What do you want to do?" Unable to help himself, the gang member asked after swallowing hard.

"Right now, I’m the one asking the questions, not you. You appear to be confused about our positions. I’m starting to get angry." Luoer’s tone grew colder.

"Don’t, don’t hurt me, I’ll tell you whatever you want to know!" Hearing Luoer’s changed tone, the gang member was immediately flustered.

"Are you part of the Booze Ghost Gang?" Seeing his change in attitude, Luoer took advantage of the momentum and asked again.

"Yes, yes!" the gang member nodded in response.

"What are you doing here?" Luoer continued to interrogate.

"This..." The gang member fell into hesitation.

In the silent pause that followed, the sound of the bullet chambering rang out again, causing the faint courage he had mustered up to instantly vanish.

"How about this, if you cooperate well, I will let you go and you can safely go home." Luoer suggested after some thought.

"Really?" Hearing this, the gang member asked in surprise.

"I don’t like lying." Luoer shrugged ambiguously.

Luoer indeed intended to let the gang member go, considering all the people he brought with him were dead. Even if he were to go back, his end wouldn’t be good. Moreover, after this battle, the Booze Ghost Gang would definitely come knocking again. As long as the siblings Eve weren’t foolish, they’d surely relocate, so letting him go shouldn’t be a problem.

He understood well that not everyone was a soft touch. Some people are just tough, and you can’t take them head-on. You have to use both hard and soft tactics, and in addition to being resolute, it’s best to show them a way out.

As expected, these people came targeting Eve’s siblings. It seemed that Eve did have good foresight.

"Why?" Luoer continued asking.

"I don’t know..." the gang member muttered hesitantly.

"Are you sure you don’t know?" Luoer asked unhurriedly.

"Er..." Although Luoer’s tone was calm, the Booze Ghost Gang’s red-nosed member could sense the strong deterrent from him. After hesitating for a moment, he stuttered, "Th-the boss says, says, someone, someone wants to get them."

"Who?" Luoer asked.

"I, I really don’t know this," the red-nosed man trembled.

"Why?" Luoer continued to ask.

"For, for," the red-nosed man thought for a moment, then gritted his teeth and answered, "Supposedly, they have something to do with Fu’en, so..."

"Wait, how do you know about Fu’en?" Upon hearing this, Luoer froze on the spot.

"Fu’en, Fu’...I, I heard it from the boss. Those people want their lives because they are connected to Fu’en..." When Luoer’s tone became rushed, the red-nosed man began to tremble in fear.

Upon hearing his words, Luoer took a deep breath and then looked at Eve with a questioning gaze. Even though the room was dimly lit, he could still see her shocked eyes.

"You know Fu’en?" Luoer asked in surprise.

"You know Fu’en?" Eve asked back.

"Fu’en is dead..." Luoer muttered.

"What, Fu’en is dead?" Upon hearing his words, Eve paused, staring at him with wide eyes.

Without answering her question, Luoer lowered his head deep in thought. The main reason they came to Holy Heart City was that Fu’en died on Earth, and so the headquarters had to find other ways to open the Otherworld Gate.

If Fu’en’s value was opening the Otherworld Gate, what would be Eve’s worth? How was she related to Fu’en?

"Fu’en is dead?" Eve looked at Luoer and kept pressing.

"Yeah." Luoer nodded without denial.

"Where did he die?" Eve blinked and asked.

"Died in the Otherworld." Luoer answered truthfully.

"Hehe!" To Luoer’s surprise, Eve didn’t seem to be saddened by the news of Fu’en’s death. Instead, upon hearing of his demise, she couldn’t help but sneer.

"Good riddance, he deserved to die!" Eve said with a bitter smile.

Obviously, there was some past between Eve and Fu’en but this was not the time for inquiries. Better to keep pressing and extract more information from the red-nosed man.

"Who exactly commanded you to capture them?" Luoer continued to press.

"I, I really don’t know!" Noticing Luoer’s changing tone, the red-nosed man was almost crying. Blindfolded, he couldn’t see Luoer’s actions and could only judge his safety from his voice.

"Who provided you with the weapons?" Luoer continued to press.

"They, they, those people!" the red-nosed man stuttered.

"The ones who asked you to eliminate the two half-elves?" Luoer asked.

"Yes, yes!" the red-nosed man answered, nodding repeatedly.

"Huh!" Hearing his answer, Luoer couldn’t help but sneer. The situation was becoming clearer; the people the red-nosed man was referring to, if his guess was right, were probably from the CIA. He surmised this from the M3 submachine guns the gang members had.

Although arms dealing is the business of arms dealers, one could still make out the shadow of major powers behind it. The ammunition in the Otherworld was expensive, and without Earth’s forces backing up the Booze Ghost Gang, they wouldn’t be able to afford such high-firepower weapons.

If every member of the Booze Ghost Gang carried a submachine gun, the cost of their recent struggle with the Hound Gang could have depleted their entire fortune. Therefore, their ability to use such high-firepower weapons proved that they were aided by Earth’s powers.

However, only a handful of Earth’s forces could have an impact on the Otherworld. And after eliminating some possibilities, only two could have had direct influence: either the headquarters or the CIA.
