Chapter 767: Chapter 760: Pearl and Sword

"I just heard that someone was planning on apologizing to me?" said Tangmo, her demeanor completely different after reopening her eyes. She blinked playfully and flashed a mischievous grin.

"I just don’t want to be slapped again, that’s why I wanted to apologize," Luoer responded stiffly.

"Oh, please," Tangmo complained while wrapping her arms around Luoer’s neck, giggling as she continued, "I know you missed me. You just don’t dare express it in front of my sister, right?"

"Are you always this self-centered?" Luoer replied with a bitter smile.

"Because some people are so hard to impress, just like a rock!" Tangmo moved closer, pinching Luoer’s smooth cheeks and said through clenched teeth.

"We should relate to each other in a civilized manner. Is your mind full of nothing but desires?" Luoer, uncomfortable with her intimacy, continuously avoided her advances.

"All platonic love without the intention of marriage is a sham, Luoer, just accept it!" Tangmo declared, her hands quickly found their way to Luoer’s chest.

"Alright, alright, stop fooling around, we’re in a corridor. It’s indecent," Luoer quickly seized her hands and gently reassuringly said, "I’m glad you’re not angry with me anymore."

"Who said I’m not angry, let go of my hands!" demanded Tangmo.

"Dream on, you’ll just start messing around again if I let go. Just keep being angry." Luoer firmly held her small, fair, and soft hands and rejected her request.

"I can be very fierce when I’m angry. If I slap you again, don’t blink in surprise," Threatened Tangmo hotly.

"Would you have the heart to?" Luoer held his ground.

Upon hearing his question, Tangmo blinked her large eyes, stunned. Her eyes began to glisten, she bashfully lowered her head, gently biting her lip before raising her head to Luoer again, giving him a sincere, soft-spoken reply, "Of course I wouldn’t, you fool. I’ve said I won’t hurt you again."

Blushing at Tangmo’s sudden change, Luoer’s face turned as red as his newly half-cooked ears. As he looked into Tangmo’s soft gaze, his eyes became increasingly blurred.

"Luoer, give me a kiss!" Called out Tangmo, boldly summoning the courage to tip-toe closer to him.

Just as they were drawing closer, close enough to feel each other’s warmth, an untimely voice sounded near their ears, "Are you two done being lovey-dovey yet? If you are, start packing. It’s time to move!"

With these words, Luoer abruptly sobered up from his daze, pushing Tangmo away while blushing heavily.

"Cheng Ziang!!" Tangmo gritted her teeth with anger, glaring at him, her fists clenched.

"If you want to snuggle, go to your room. No one’s stopping you. This is the corridor, mind your language and behavior, it’s inappropriate." Cheng Ziang retorted, unafraid of Tangmo’s fury.

"Cheng Ziang, from today on, you’re on my list!" Tangmo was so furious that she was on the brink of losing control. She suddenly stumbled forward, falling to her knees. When she raised her head again, her expression had completely changed.

"I thought you said you didn’t care about her," Cheng Ziang looked at Moumou, who had just regained control of Tangmo’s body, shaking his head.

"To tell you the truth, I kind of don’t want to care," Tangmo gave him a bitter stare, speaking in a gloomy tone.

After that little episode, everyone quickly boarded the carriage destined for Holy Heart City. Although the headquarters had several airboats at their disposal by this time, those were all in use for different purposes, so it wasn’t feasible to use one just to transport the advance team to the Holy Heart city.

Moreover, the journey from Yazhi city to the Holy Heart City was not very far and mostly flat terrain, so traveling by carriage was not a problem.

Tangmo, still on the carriage, seemed in a huff. She sat quietly with crossed arms, much to Luoer’s dismay. Baiyue took the opportunity to slide quietly to Luoer’s side, gently tugging at his sleeve.

"What’s wrong?" Luoer questioned as he turned to face her.

"I found it!" Baiyue whispered, handing Luoer a folded piece of paper.

"Fantastic," upon hearing Baiyue’s words, Luoer immediately cheered up and opened the piece of paper handed over. However, his excitement quickly turned into a frown.

"The Fiorent Family, the royal family of Odelànqí... The previous king had only two children. The elder one, named Gudelv Fiorent, is the current King of Odelànqí. His younger sister was Lin Fiorent, who was kidnapped by Yalunte Burlingchi, the legion commander of her time, more than twenty years ago and has been missing ever since. It’s suspected that she was murdered." Luoer spoke and then raised his head to look at Cheng Ziang.

"Let me see!" Hearing Luoer’s words, Cheng Ziang took a deep breath and then took the paper from his hand.

"Boss, when did you start caring about the royal gossip of Odelànqí?" Hu Daoke asked curiously.

"It’s not about their gossip, but this matter may be related to Ziang." Luoer answered truthfully.

"What does it have to do with Old Cheng?" Upon hearing his words, Hu Daoke stared at Cheng Ziang in surprise.

"Luoer," Baiyue gently pulled Luoer’s sleeve, then looked at him and whispered, "When I was researching, I asked Sister Nightingale and she told me some related gossip."

"Ah, I know about that!" Hearing Baiyue’s words, Fulajie’er suddenly materialized in the air and then plopped onto Luoer’s thigh, ready to talk with great enthusiasm.

"Fula, what do you know?" Luoer, oblivious to Baiyue’s resentful gaze, turned to Fulajie’er and asked curiously.

"Of course, it’s about the Odelànqí royal gossip, my sister mentioned it to me." Fulajie’er replied excitedly.

"Eh, gossip? Miss Fula, share it with us!" Upon hearing the word ’gossip’, Hu Daoke’s eyes lit up in excitement and he bent over to Fulajie’er eagerly.

"Huh, seeing as you’ve shared so much gossip with me before, I’ll tell you some of the gossip I know!" Fulajie’er said proudly, sitting atop Luoer’s thigh and constantly switching her sitting position.

"More than twenty years ago, Princess Lin of Odelànqí was considered the most beautiful woman in the country, known as the pearl of Holy Heart City. Many young men at the time aspired to win her favor, but there were only two who stood a real chance." Fulajie’er began to tell them.

"Who were they?" Hu Daoke couldn’t help but ask.

"One was named Dina, a nobleman and master of swordsmanship." Fulajie’er replied.

"Dina, sounds vaguely familiar." Hu Daoke said, furrowing his brows.

"Of course, it rings a bell; he’s currently the commander of the Judgement Legion." Tangmo reminded irritably.

"Oh, that’s the guy!" Hu Daoke suddenly saw the light.

"And the other one?" Luoer asked curiously.

"The other one was Yalunte Burlingchi, who rose from a commoner to the position of a legion commander through his military achievements. He’s the uncle stationed here." Fulajie’er answered.

"No wonder those two guys glared at each other as soon as they met. So, they were actually rivals in love." Luoer nodded understandingly.

"So, in the end, who did the princess end up with?" Hu Daoke asked curiously.

"At that time, Princess Lin was more inclined towards Yalunte. But the royal family didn’t approve of it since, despite his position, Yalunte’s humble beginnings meant he wasn’t deemed suitable for the noble princess." Fulajie’er explained.

"So they parted ways?" Hu Daoke asked, his eyes wide with surprise.

"Of course not," Fulajie’er shook her head, then continued, "Despite the opposition, Princess Lin decided to meet with Yalunte secretly. When their relationship came to light, the royal family was enraged. Under Prince Gudelv’s suggestion, the king decided to marry the princess off to Masya to promote an alliance between the two countries."

"So, did they end up separating in the end?" Hu Daoke asked anxiously, his eyes wide open.

"Later on, learning of this, Yalunte stormed the royal palace single-handedly, took Princess Lin with him, and they embarked on a journey of escape." Fulajie’er declared.
