Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 759 - 752

Chapter 759: 752

After addressing the disaster facing Luoer, Cheng Ziang glanced at Luoer bitterly, giving a heavy sigh. He then shook his head and called out to Fulajie’er loudly, "Fula, where is the body of Mu Lansi? Lead us to it!"

"Okay!" Fulajie’er answered obediently. Given that Luoer already had people looking after him, she felt there was no need for her to stick around.

"Old Hu, let’s go!" Cheng Ziang beckoned Hu Daoke as he turned back.

"Eh, coming," Hu Daoke walked forward carrying his machine gun. Passing by Luoer, he hesitated for a moment before finally turning around. "Boss, you should really reflect on yourself," he said.

After Cheng Ziang and Hu Daoke left, only Luoer and Tangmo remained on the scene, along with the transport plane behind them. After venting for a while, Tangmo finally cooled down. She took a deep breath and asked in a disgruntled tone, "Where did you fall?"

"My leg, my leg..." Luoer cautiously answered, afraid of receiving another slap.

Even though he knew he was at fault, he still wished Moumou could be the one caring for him. At the very least, Moumou wouldn’t slap him.

Of course, Luoer quite understood that Momo hitting him was probably agreed upon with her sister. Moumou wouldn’t dare hit him, but Momo would. It seemed the two sisters planned for Luoer to learn a hard lesson.

"Here?" Tangmo’s expressionless face traced her hand to Luoer’s injured joint.

"Ah!" Luoer jerked violently, crying out in pain.

"Broken?" Tangmo asked without raising her head.

"Sprained," Luoer answered honestly.

"Resurrection magic will not likely help, but massaging it might alleviate it somewhat. It should be better in some time," said Tangmo, pressing Luoer’s sore area with the pad of her thumb.

"You, be gentle." Luoer’s body trembled once again, pleading in his words.

"Realize it hurts now?" Tangmo raised her head, staring emotionlessly at him as she asked.

Facing the still irritated Tangmo, Luoer sensed his own guilt and thus kept his mouth shut, only quietly closing his eyes.

Of course, Tangmo had a soft heart despite her harsh words. After hearing Luoer’s cry of pain, she instinctively reduced her massage pressure, silently continuing her ministrations with her head down.

Soon, the atmosphere on the scene fell into an unspeakable awkwardness again. Luoer dared not speak, and Tangmo was unwilling to engage him. The two of them maintained their positions in silence.

No one knows how much time had passed when another transport plane silently arrived near the two of them, quietly landing. Next, the cabin doors opened, and two small figures leapt out, rushing towards Luoer.

"Luoer!" Baiyue cried out, tumbling and scrambling to Luoer’s side, appearing all flustered.

"Be careful," Tangmo reminded in a low voice, "he’s got a broken leg, don’t disturb my amputation!"

"Bro, broken!" Hearing the news, Baiyue stood thunderstruck, staring back at him in utter disbelief.

"Don’t listen to her; it’s only a sprain." Luoer reassured with a wry smile.

"You scared me!" Hearing Luoer’s words, Baiyue’s body went limp, collapsing listlessly onto the ground.

"Luoer..." At this moment, Feng, holding her knife, stepped forward, eyes wide as she looked at him.

Although she was not adept at expressing her emotions, Luoer could still feel her concern for him from her voice.

"I’ll be fine; don’t worry about me!" Luoer comforted, smiling.

"Oh, oh..." Feng gave a somewhat stiff nod, her usually expressionless face revealing subtly changing emotions.

After more than half an hour passed, Cheng Ziang and Hu Daoke finally returned to Luoer and the others under the guidance of Fulajie’er. Hu Daoke had a body bag slung over his shoulder, presumably containing the corpse of Mu Lansi.

When Cheng Ziang returned, he saw Luoer surrounded by a few girls. He sneered and then said emotionlessly, "You’re supposed to be suffering right now, but you’re surrounded by beautiful women. I don’t know whether you’re being punished or you’re going through hardship."

"I’m sorry..." Luoer said guiltily.

"Sorry is absolutely useless!" After saying that, Cheng Ziang signalled Hu Daoke to move the body bag back onto the transport plane.

"Alright, try to stand up and see how you’re doing!" After massaging for a while, Tangmo let go of his leg and said.

"Good, much better." Luoer, with Tangmo’s assistance, shakily stood up from the ground. His joints and ligaments were strained, and it would definitely take a while for them to recover.

"Then help him onto the transport plane!" Tangmo, while supporting Luoer, turned to Baiyue and said.

"Hmm!" Baiyue was momentarily taken aback by Tangmo’s suggestion, but immediately nodded in agreement.

They helped Luoer onto another transport plane. There were now two transport planes here, one dedicated for transporting Mu Lansi’s body and the other for carrying the advance team members."

After the transport plane took off, Cheng Ziang picked up the parachute backpack Luoer had taken off, inspected it briefly, and then asked him, "Your parachute backpack malfunctioned, how did you land safely?"

"You might not believe it, but I achieved a soft landing with the mobility device," Luoer explained.

"The mobility device?" On hearing his words, everyone at the scene couldn’t help but emit sounds of skepticism.

"Yes," Luoer nodded his head and continued to explain, "I used the anti-gravity of the mobility device to counteract the impact of the fall. I balanced just before touching down, thus achieving a soft landing."

"Then why didn’t you use the backup parachute?" Cheng Ziang pointed at the pull cord of the backup parachute and asked.

"Uhh," Cheng Ziang’s question rendered Luoer speechless with embarrassment. After a lengthy silence, he finally uttered quietly, "I... I forgot..."

On hearing Luoer’s words, Cheng Ziang felt both angry and amused. He shook his head helplessly and said, "You’re lucky the mobility device worked. Really, how could you forget even the backup option."

"Speaking of which, the boss seems to have developed a new use for the mobility device," Hu Daoke said, furrowing his brows.

"Ha, a new usage that was traded for with his life," Cheng Ziang mocked with a cold laugh.

"Mobility device skydiving, it’s indeed a good landing method. If it can be thoroughly researched, it might replace parachutes to become the new landing method for the Advance Team," Baiyue analyzed calmly.

"This is playing with life," Cheng Ziang stated.

"But at least Luoer was successful. We got a successful new case, didn’t we?" Baiyue said, looking at him.

"You," Cheng Ziang looked at her, unsure what to say, "Who are you speaking for?"

"Luoer did wrong for sure, but we should not deny the new finding because of that. We should accept and utilize any beneficial new findings for us, shouldn’t we?" Baiyue asked back.

"Do you have any opinions?" Cheng Ziang turned to Tangmo and asked.

"We’ve hit and scolded him, what more can we do," Tangmo turned his head and glared at Luoer, then sighed and said, "Experience is the best teacher. As long as he reflects, it’s enough. Meaningless alienation would just give rise to bullying within the team, wouldn’t it?"

"Alright, since you guys are all so generous, we do not need to hold grudges either," Cheng Ziang shrugged and said, while looking at Luoer, "Now the question is, how are we going to explain this incident to the higher-ups?"

"I will tell Wang Xu the truth. After he punishes me, he will keep it confidential for us," Luoer promised quietly.

"You’d better be aware of the fact that if head office catches wind of this, not only will you be in trouble, but our days won’t be good either," Cheng Ziang cautioned.

"I know!" Luoer nodded his head.

Seeing Luoer’s attitude, Cheng Ziang’s anger eased quite a bit. He looked at Tangmo, who was deep in thought, with a certain admiration. Without a doubt, on such important decisions, this younger sister was far more adept compared to her elder sister.
