Chapter 710: Chapter 703: Danger Lurks Everywhere

Seeing this situation, Baiyue, who was in the midst of retreating, became dumbfounded and, disregarding everything, threw down her weapon and ran towards the Door of Annihilation. However, she was firmly held back by her collar by Cheng Ziang as soon as she started.

"What do you think you’re doing?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"Let me go, I’m going to save Luo’er!" Baiyue, who was obstructed, was exceptionally angry, completely unlike her previous indifference and calm. She struggled fiercely and roared angrily while doing so.

"Luo’er told us to retreat, are you deaf?" Cheng Ziang said righteously.

"I don’t care!!" Baiyue turned her head back, teary-eyed due to uproar, and glared at him.

"Old Hu, hold her, keep retreating!" Cheng Ziang didn’t argue with her much, but let Hu Daoke take over instead.

"Then, about the boss..." Luo’er was in danger, and Hu Daoke didn’t look pleased either. He watched him anxiously and asked.

"Are you deaf too, I asked you to take her away!" Cheng Ziang said angrily and impatiently.

"Then, what about the boss?" As Hu Daoke spoke, his voice trembled uncontrollably.

"The most important thing right now is to remain calm, calm!" Cheng Ziang handed Baiyue over to Hu Daoke, then took a deep breath and repeated.

Tangmo didn’t continue to retreat, but, facing the Door of Annihilation, collapsed on the ground in despair, remaining silent.

Suddenly, she seemed as though she had reacted and let out a shriek as if she was out of strength, continuously banging her head on the floor, increasingly frantic.

She held her head, looking as if she’s in pain. Quickening his pace, Cheng Ziang reached out to her and comforted her: "Moumou, calm down, calm down!"

Hearing his words, Tangmo stopped banging her head and turned around to look at Cheng Ziang. Her eyes were empty and indifferent, devoid of any emotions. Her lips kept moving, the original plumpness tightened, and were devoid of any color.

About three seconds later, Tangmo suddenly seemed as if her soul had returned. The emptiness and indifference in her eyes had disappeared. However, there was a strange yet familiar feeling in her eyes that made Cheng Ziang stunned where he stood.

As for Luo’er, he had long been on the verge of death by the time his broken limbs and ribs were dragged into the Door of Annihilation. Passing through the Door of Annihilation, he experienced a long-lost feeling of distortion, as if his body was being pulled into a long line.

Subsequently, a vast white sight appeared before his eyes. The sky was filled with thick clouds and the air was filled with dense mist.

Luo’er took a deep breath; this should be the first breath of air he took after coming to the annihilated world. Fortunately, the air here was still breathable, and much richer compared to the Otherworld.

In the vast morning fog, a huge black figure slowly emerged. Luo’er was hung upside-down in mid-air by a tentacle, suppressing the intense pain all over his body, carefully observing the huge figure in front of him. If he hadn’t guessed wrong, this should be Naptios, the gigantic monster that had invaded the Otherworld twice.

It was enormous, like a tower, its body indistinguishable from that of a giant ape, also a bipedal creature. However, in comparison with the giant ape, its body was smooth and hardly any hair was seen. Its skin was the same color as the back of its tentacles, and similarly had large dark spots.

However, what impressed Luo’er the most was its head.

Its head was covered in long tentacles, even longer than its height, they could drag all the way to the ground, it looked a bit like an octopus pinned to its head.

It had a pair of jet-black eyes, almost without any whites, making the entire socket look like a black abyss, with only the pupils reflecting light. Its whole face and head were covered in tentacles, with the ones on its face being far shorter compared to the rest.

These tentacles, long and short, were continuously waving in the air, none of them touching the ground, making it appear even larger.

The broken gas mask on Luo’er’s face fell off, he spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva, staring with horror at the enormous monster in front of him.

Because of the limited height of the Door of Annihilation, Naptios laid in a ridiculous manner in front of the Otherworld Gate. It was kneeling on both knees, with its right hand supporting its body, the left hand lifted, while a pair of furious eyes stared at Luo’er. As Luo’er glanced back, he noticed a deep wound on its palm, from which a dark blue blood seeped out continuously.

Seeing Naptios in this state, a scornful smile appeared on Luo’er’s face, a thousand sorrows filled his heart. Just now, he had quietly muttered a spell, but the eventual outcome confirmed his hunch - this annihilation world had no magic.

Naptios was quite obviously enraged by his mocking smile. Naptios opened its mouth, revealing a massive jaw hidden under the tentacles and let out a furious sound. Its mouth was full of sharp barbed teeth and disgusting saliva adorned the space between its jaws. The stink of its breath was beyond description, forcing Luo’er to cover his nose.

"So this is how death feels?" Facing the massive open mouth of Naptios, Luo’er resigned, letting out a sigh.

He closed his eyes, his mind making a swift recap of his life. Suddenly, something sparked in his mind, and Feng entered his focus.

"No, I haven’t lost yet!" Luo’er muttered to himself, pulling an attack grenade from his pocket with his only good hand. The purpose of this grenade was to harm the target with an amplified explosive force.

Naptios clearly had no idea what a grenade was and was, therefore, moving Luo’er closer to its mouth, intending to swallow him whole, without a bit of precaution.

"You can’t kill me because fate dictates otherwise!" Luo’er spoke. Despite the pain, he moved his body and using the momentum, he accurately tossed the attack grenade, with the pin already pulled out, into Naptios’s mouth.

The grenade slid effortlessly down Naptios’s throat. As it reached the esophagus, the grenade exploded, causing a tremor in Naptios’s body followed by a high-pitched shriek.

It stood tall, pounding its chest with enormous hands, resulting in a series of thumps. At the same time, it kept shaking its head and tentacles, making Luo’er’s experience seem like a nauseating rollercoaster ride.

Suddenly, Naptios seemed unable to attend to Luo’er and loosened its grip on him. Spurts of momentum threw Luo’er towards the ripples of the Door of Annihilation.

Luo’er collided with the ripple barrier of the Door of Annihilation. To his surprise, the ripple barrier decelerated his speed. He indeed felt as though his body was pulled into a thread, yet he was immediately aware of his significant slowdown.

Within a second, Luo’er passed through the Door of Annihilation again, returning to the Otherworld. Because of the retardation, his speed was greatly reduced from when he was thrown, ensuring a much gentler landing than expected.

As he was praying that he wouldn’t die from the landing, an abrupt figure soared towards the falling Luo’er.

In mid-air, Luo’er felt something collided with him. He opened his tired eyes and found it to be Feng. With a straight face, she adjusted herself to a relatively safe position after grabbing Luo’er, falling from several meters in the air.

The moment Feng landed, she rolled a few times forward, placing Luo’er safely on the ground. After halting her momentum, she quickly rushed towards Luo’er and helped him up.

"Luo’er, Luo’er!" she managed to support Luo’er, and there came the desperate call from Tangmo. Following this, Tangmo scrambled towards Luo’er, pushing Feng away rudely, while holding Luo’er in his arms.

"Luo’er, Luo’er, Luo’er... I knew... you’d be okay..." Tangmo’s eyes were red and filled with tears as his lips trembled violently.

Looking at her teary face, Luo’er opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but he closed the mouth eventually, tilted his head and passed out.
